@@the13thdoctorstardis94 I think the theory is that they were threatened or something, which is why they kept dropping what the conspiracy theorists described as subtle hints, like barefoot Abbey Road, Sgt Pepper funeral-like album cover and "the Walrus was Paul".
@@george4821you got to remember these boomers come from a time where their parents thought if you played their little rock vinyls backwards they could hear satanic preaching etc. that satanic symbols are in all mass media and is some sort of jewish conspiracy. they probably thought it was so silly back then but a lot of them are like that these days.
Paul was living with the Ashers during the early Beatle years. The mother was a musician and music teacher, and he learned things from her. Paul also was the only Beatle who really connected with George Martin, who had been Mrs. Asher's student. Martin taught Paul a lot. In addition, Paul was already pretty great in the early years, and even his teenage songs are often very sophisticated, if not rock and roll songs. Plus, Paul spent years writing songs with John Lennon, and their collaborations were closer than many of us realize, I think, even in the later years. Jackson's GET BACK shows their comradery, even as the general cracks were widening in the group. So, lots of factors can account for the growing sophistication and brilliance of McCartney's songwriting, in the late Beatles period and beyond.
That line about Paul’s solo career is so true. Some of my favorite songs ever come from the mastermind that was post-Beatles Paul McCartney. So many great albums.
So, in order to secretly replace Paul they found a left-handed bassist who looked exactly like him, had the same singing and speaking voice, and the same level of songwriting ability, and then convinced Jane Asher to date him, and got his father and brother to go along with the lie, and managed to silence the police, the coroner and the newspapers, and got rid of the wreckage of his vehicle? And what of the man who replaced him? He vanished from his own life without a trace and no loved one or friend or employer ever reported him missing?
The funniest thing about this theory to me is my dad actually almost hit Paul with his car a couple years ago. Dude does not have a good track record with vehicles!
His 70s work was pretty close to being as popular as Elton John's 70s work which is a pretty impressive follow up to dominating the 60s with the Beatles.
Paul did have a double performing for him, but it was actually until 1966. In 1967 George Santos had to begin work at NASA, leaving Paul stuck writing his own hits.
I find it so ironic that someone learning from past mistakes in writing songs and got better over time, people immediately make a conspiracy that they actually died and a better look alike replaced them, lol

There is a good video that shows Paul interviewed in 1966 then less than a year later in 67. You can easily see and hear that they are different people.
There's a lot of scientists commenting here but if you dig deep into this you'll see there's plenty of evidence that the swap actually happened . If you see accurate photo analysis of the 1965 Paul and the 1966 Paul ( Faul ) faces, they are absolutely not the same human being . Even forensic vocal analysis backs this up . Some interesting DNA issues and illegitimate children and settlement payments made are also worth mentioning . George Harrison also referred to Paul as Faul in interviews . Never say never until you have proof .
Their chins and earlobes are completely different. Not to mention that the new Paul was somehow 5 inches taller. Also interesting how the Beatles mysteriously stopped touring around this time. There’s a book written about it called “Billy Shears” but it is passed off as a fiction novel.
@@Metanoia000 I understand that the "Paul is dead" conspiracy raises intriguing points. However, it's important to examine these claims critically. The differences in facial features and physical traits can often be attributed to angles, lighting, and the natural aging process. Height differences can also be exaggerated over time, and it's worth noting that our perception of height can vary. As for the cessation of tours, The Beatles' decision to stop touring was multifaceted and well-documented. Their intense schedule, increasing artistic focus, and growing fatigue with the touring lifestyle all played a significant role. It's essential to consider the broader context when attributing events to conspiracy theories. The book "Billy Shears" appears to fall into the realm of fiction, where creative storytelling often weaves elements of reality with imaginative narratives. While conspiracy theories can be captivating, it's also crucial to weigh them against credible historical records and verified sources.
@@Metanoia000 I just have to ask, how is he now taller? In every magazine he was ever in where height was talked about he was 1.8 m, and has always been so.
I think this conspiracy has gained traction because the implication is huge (if it were true) and also because the human brain is fascinated by any slight deviation of another human being, if that makes sense. Hell, you could even go as far as saying that Paul was replaced by an android and the conspiracy theorists would love it.
It is the most ridiculous of all conspiracy theories because of what would have to take place. You would have to find a guy who was not only an exact replica of Paul, that he would have to be a bigger musical genius than Paul ever was. Because the Imposter wrote Let It Be. The Imposter wrote Hey Jude. The leadership of the band towards the end was at Paul's feet. I doubt they give that power to the Imposter. And of the four Beatles, The Imposter would have by far the most successful solo career. That's like saying that Eddie Van Halen died in 1978, so they found a guy who looked exactly like him in every way, only was a much better guitar player and songwriter. And the rest of the band didn't care. Doesn't make much sense.
Nothing says fake Paul did write anything. Maybe he's credited so label got more of the publishing money. They changed their looks drastically and all we had was grainy photos and TV back then it would be easy to pass off the "random white dude" look. There are plenty of artists who could assimilate in another band quite well everyone has their ways and styles. Look at Scott Weiland adapting into GNR and making hits for example. I don't think this happened but I wouldn't put it past this industry and 60s and a band this big was worth the chance.
Also another reason I don’t support the PID theory (other than the obvious) is that Paul took on a lot of responsibility and leadership for the Beatles in 1967, after Brian Epstein died. There’s no way the rest of them would let some new guy do that
And also the get back documentary Because theres plenty of points where they dont know theyre being recorded and hes always called paul and always part of the band But the conspiracists will just say it was all fabricated or something idk
thing is, he really doesnt and forensic voice analysis agrees. Billy knows music theory and can read music and had voice and instrument training. He waa a session musician and a talented one, at that. Both Pauls are good, but one of these men is not like the other.
he got really into LSD in 1967 thats why all the song are so good and tempo most of theri song where wrote on LSD and weed like i am the walrus Jway ETC ETC ETC big w
Consider that it was a way of shaking off their past (including performing in concert) and getting everyone’s attention when they began recording their more experiential and often drug influenced catalogue of songs. The whole music world was mesmerized at the time, listening for the ghostly “Paul is dead” clues, while each new song was gradually etched permanently in our minds. Greatest promotional effort of ALL time.
Oh yeah, John wrote and sang the better bit, but Paul composed most of it as well as writing the middle eight, so it's generally considered a 50/50 effort.
You won't regret it. It's charming. He revisited many of the places mentioned, along with other special places from his younger days, in the Carpool Karaoke session with J.Corden.
@The 13th Doctor's Tardis for sane people "Paul's not dead" is hilarious. It's like a 2 hour documentary about the conspiracy theory. Lots of playing vinyl backwards and zooming in on album covers. 😆
@xjunkxyrdxdog89 I'm not going to lie, a story like this (but obviously not with the Beatles) would be some genuinely enticing fodder for a drama/comedy, like that one short film made out this but longer. Maybe even a TV show, lol.
What if Paul "died" and ghostwrote for "Fake" Paul because he didn't like all the attention and needed to step back for a bit. and when the Beatles broke up "Real" Paul came back into the spotlight.
Absolutely!! So even if it's Faul, isn't it incredible that Faul gave us songs like Let it Be, Hey Jude, Band on the Run, My Love, Silly Love Songs, Let Me Roll It, No More Lonely Nights, Ebony and Ivory, Say Say Say, Press, My Brace Face, This One etc etc etc etc etc!!??
It should be easy to figure out. They say Billy Shears, who was already a gifted musician playing lots lots of pubs & gigs, writing music, etc. & he looked a lot like Paul - supposedly had surgery & became the new Paul - SO, just check to see if Billy Shears disappeared off the music scene after Paul supposedly died, and THEN start the conspiracy theories. I was just getting into rock music when Paul McCartney & Wings was formed, and THAT was the music I fell in love with. I did come to also love The Beatles after the fact, but Paul (or whoever!) was where my heart was truly at. Whether that is Paul or Billy, I love his post-Beatles music best. RIP Linda McCartney. I really miss her.
yeah I've said so many times that not only a look alike but also plays left handed, the same height, voice, hair, and like you were getting at...fantastic song writers don't grow on trees! its rediculous!!
Well, you got a few things wrong. The replacement Paul is usually referred to as "Venom" Paul while the original is called "Naked" Paul (or just Paul). Naked Paul used the car crash as an opportunity to go into hiding and replaced himself with his biggest fan, giving him hypnosis and cosmetic surgery until he had formed Venom Paul. In the years that followed, Venom Paul served as the public face of the real Paul and even served Paul's reputation more than the real Paul could've in some situations. While Venom Paul was putting out hits, Naked Paul was building up a nation of musicians - though both of their efforts would eventually be stamped out by one of Naked Paul's clones/"sons" known as "Solid" Paul.
After watching Get Back Documentary, I was really impressed how Paul as a person leading the group to write record and produce song, his passion was to the roof and very demanding until it feels like the beatles on get back era are his vision only, bit and pieces from other.

FYI: Billy was not a lefty. At first, they used mirrors to hide him being right handed. Then he found out that by reversing the strings on his guitar, he could more easily play it. The thing about the theory that no one explains is why the other beatles were on board with replacing paul (especially john), and why the government who supposedly put them up to it allowed them to quit only 4 years later
Right!? Like, I'm pretty sure at least John would have a *fit* at the mere suggestion of replacing Paul *after he died*..I don't think in this situation Brian could keep a grieving John, George, and Ringo from disbanding on the spot, much less have them replace their best friend since teen-hood!
@@the13thdoctorstardis94 this is especially true after watching get back. No way would john be messing around and joking with a fake who replaced his best friend, and george and ringo wouldn’t be so friendly with him either
@solidsalt3412 completely agree. It's been said that the four "close ranks" when it's them and other people around, and I don't believe they'd open that gap to a complete stranger. If someone was missing, I'd wager they'd close tighter to make sure no one could have an opportunity to replace any of them.
@@the13thdoctorstardis94 I think the theory is that they were threatened or something, which is why they kept dropping what the conspiracy theorists described as subtle hints, like barefoot Abbey Road, Sgt Pepper funeral-like album cover and "the Walrus was Paul".

The answer to why he suddenly got better is actually the same reason Alice in wonderland is so iconic. Drugs
So, lots of factors can account for the growing sophistication and brilliance of McCartney's songwriting, in the late Beatles period and beyond.
that's what i've been saying. paul is very fond of the wacky baccy, someone snuck a video of him chuffing on a joint as recently as 2019 i believe
Oh no. Dad almost did kill Paul. 😬🤣🤣🤣
Thank god someone recognizes how slept on Paul’s solo career is
His 70s work was pretty close to being as popular as Elton John's 70s work which is a pretty impressive follow up to dominating the 60s with the Beatles.
Paul did have a double performing for him, but it was actually until 1966. In 1967 George Santos had to begin work at NASA, leaving Paul stuck writing his own hits.

He is also taller
Nobody could replace those eyes.
Their chins and earlobes are completely different. Not to mention that the new Paul was somehow 5 inches taller. Also interesting how the Beatles mysteriously stopped touring around this time. There’s a book written about it called “Billy Shears” but it is passed off as a fiction novel.
@@Metanoia000
I understand that the "Paul is dead" conspiracy raises intriguing points.
@@Metanoia000 "mysteriously" their manager literally died. Thats when the band started to fell apart. He was the glue to The Beatles
There was a suggestion his eye colour was changed after the car crash. I'm colourblind so I can't see it myself.

I love the way he references "a day in the life" to describe Paul's great later work. Except for part in the middle that's mostly a John Lennon song.
Also another reason I don’t support the PID theory (other than the obvious) is that Paul took on a lot of responsibility and leadership for the Beatles in 1967, after Brian Epstein died. There’s no way the rest of them would let some new guy do that
And also the get back documentary
Because theres plenty of points where they dont know theyre being recorded and hes always called paul and always part of the band
But the conspiracists will just say it was all fabricated or something idk
Unless said "new guy' had powerful support from the PYRAMID. Which he still does.
imagine you being a Paul clone and never getting the credit for actually writing the most and the better part of his musical work
The theory isn’t true, how could they find someone who sounds exactly like him

If Paul really died, it is the greatest gift the Beatles gave us that they continued on to give such wonderful music.
