You can say what you want about her, but I applaud her for continuing John’s memory for so long. She’s a very strong women to be able to acknowledge something that awful happened in her past.
You applaud her for continuing John’s memory? John's memory is her business. A multi-million dollar business. What else would she do - flip burgers? Obviously John's murder must have been a traumatic experience for her, but at the time of the shooting they were in the process of getting divorced (at her request), and she was having an affair with another man.
Jesus said, "I tell you the truth no one will see the kingdom of God unless he is born again. I am the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me." For God so loved the world that He give His only Son that whoever believes in Him will not perish but will have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world but to save the World through Him. For all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God. For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord, and All who call upon the name of the Lord will be saved. " If you want to be sure of Heaven and avoid the other place below say the following prayer sincerely from your heart." Lord Jesus I repent and am sorry for my sins forgive me. I forgive all who have offended me. Come into my heart and save me. I accept you as my Lord and Saviour. Fill me with your Holy Spirit and baptise me with your Holy Spirit. @ShadowMC X John died Dec. 8, 1980, aged 40 yrs 60 days. Feb. 7, 2021 will be 40 yrs, 61 days since his death. He will then have been dead longer than he lived.
My dad turns on John Lennon music every night we get home from my cheer practice and it’s so sad to think about his tragic death. Thank you for this information to teach us about what happened to one of the most phenomenal singers ever!
Tonight many years later watching Get Back, it reminds me of how much joy John brought the music loving world, he was full of fun, always joking, but had serious moments too, I will always be indebted to him and his bandmates for getting me started down a musical path…his spirit truly lives on…
Heather Jogins toward the end of his life he acknowledged and apologised for his mistakes and tried to better himself and reform a relationship with his son julian.
I was walking to High School (we were juniors) with my buddy who was a big JL fan, on the morning of Dec 9th - I remember him being super upset. What is still maddening to this day is that Lennon was courteous to his fans and made time for them and he was repaid with 4 big bullets to his chest.
Yeah and Hey Jude was directed at John's son because he ignored him. Imo John was a good man, he had some flaws but we all do, but pointing out his flaws in his memorial is kinda weird
Such a sad feeling watching this and to see poor Yoko go through all this and come out the other side intact. She is such a strong woman. RIP John. My hero. He lives on in his two sons. I'll never stop listening to John's music.
If on the extremely slim chance that he is ever paroled, he'll never have nor would he deserve to have, any kind of functional life. Far more than that, he would be as good as dead once he got out, anyway; he would have to be confined wherever he could live or whoever would even take him in. There will be so many people out to get him that it would then become fame seekers as to who would be the one that killed Chapman, much like Chapman himself is. And John wasn't the kind of person who would want someone to seek revenge and kill.
0:24 hours after this John was fatally shot..I know that in reenactments they had it 8 shots, 6, 9 etc , but it's a .38 special charter arms revolver..I believe this particular gun could only hold 5 bullets) MDC shot 5 times and missed the first one, therefore only 4 hit John. . anyhow look at him right here you see his left side and to me it's eerie because he was hit by 3 shots on his left upper chest and one in the left arm....his aorta was destroyed along with all the vessels leaving his heart,.his chest cavity was filling with blood. bleeding out with no blood in his lifeless heart.. his upper torso was completely full of blood.. when he layed almost dead in the archway he lost pints of blood, he uttered to ppl around him 'please help me.'.. I've only read one witness that said he said that, I'm sure he said something. when John was put into the backseat of the cop car the driver asked r u John Lennon? john said yes, that was his last word, Jimmy Moran who drove John to Roosevelt hospital said John didn't move or speak anything..i believe John died shortly before they got to the hospital in the back seat..John could not be saved that night, it was impossible to fix the damage.....ugh. we miss u john
His contributions to not only music, but to the entirety of the human race, sharing love and positivity where and how he knew how too will never be forgotten. He will live with all of us, because he was one of us. Don’t forget that. Continue to rest John, your voice, your raw talent, your heart, your mind, your love, none of that will fade so long as we remember. We remember a man who was kind and loving to the very end. Pains me to know his killer is so close to where I live (maybe 30 mins away) they transferred him from Attica to Wende correctional facility. I hope they never let him out. He doesn’t deserve to be out. He calculated this plan to murder Lennon and did it. The Beatles have been one of the biggest influences in my entire life. And it saddens me I’ll never get to see Lennon or Harrison in concert.
My mom told me the day he died my nan was singing “she loves you” when she was getting her ready for school. You just never know when someone could just leave,
I wasn't born when this happened yet I still get emotional at the thought of his death. I'm a big Beatles fan and it was clear that Lennon was a very smart talented funny man. What a tragic ending. He had a hard life and Yoko was finally giving him all he could of wanted. Wish he could of had that longer.
In 1980, I was a fourth-year high school student and I was 18 years old at the time. In the 70s and 80s, the various singing groups enjoyed international fame despite the lack of means of communication. And I didn't know about John Lennon's assassination until the early 90s.
John Lennon abandoned his first born son and cheated on his first wife not to mention the fact that he was verbally abusive to yoko. He was a brilliant songwriter but he was also a terrible man.
I'm 28, from England and although John had died years before I was born, like everyone here, The Beatles have provided the soundtrack to my life. Im so excited as I'm heading over to New York for my first acting gig soon, and can't believe I have a chance to pay tribute at Strawberry Fields on Dec 9th. Thanks for the inspiration John, you always have a song for everything
I was in high school when this happened. The next day two friends and I skipped school and rode around listening to the radio while our local rock station played only Beatles/Lennon music all day. It was inconceivable John was dead and the DJs were clearly in shock.
His best years in front of him. Think of it, the talk shows, discussion forums, memoirs, bags more creativity. Endless hours into the night, listening not just to the music, but all the rhyme and reason behind those spellbinding lyrics. He had so much more to give us - enrich our minds. Gone in a second, robbed of life, and for what? Some things don't add up.
He was killed by a psychotic man that was mentally unstable. The man "killed John lennon" purely for popularity and so he would be remembered for something. He also claimed it was nothing against john when questioned he said that he "had a list consisting of multiple people" with one actually being Paul McCartney. Lennon didn't deserve to die that way nor should anyone and i agree that his best years were ahead, but he had to die to a man who needed some serious mental help. Im just glad he wasn't crazy enough to open fire and kill others too.. RIP John Lennon 1940-1980 you will be missed.
In 1981 only, World tour, new album, return to UK, Beatle reunion at Ringo's wedding. 1981 wud have been would have been one of the best years ever for music..........

It’s truly one of the saddest days that I can remember in my lifetime, just hearing the horrible news that evening. I called the radio station right away, and my friend, who was the DJ that night, confirmed to me, yes, it was true. It’s even more tragic, since John was finally having the peaceful and happy personal life he had been searching for. He decided to give his fans a gift, the new released “Double Fantasy” album, and, ironically, lost his life.
Odd they’d sing Hey Jude at the dedication, that was Paul’s song, and was written for John’s first son when John divorced his first wife. I’ve heard Yoko hates that song along with anything to do with John’s children that she didn’t bare herself.
I was 17 years old in high school when this happened. Now I have outlived John Lennon by 18 years (58). Sad. I was watching that Monday Night football game where Howard Cossel made the famous announcement of Lennon's death. But, I turned it off at halftime and missed the breaking news because the game was dull and I had school the next morning. It was the talk of the school!
You're about the same age as I was also 17 when he died. Being from New England, I was watching the Patriots playing on MNF when Howard Cossel made the announcement. I was also a huge Beatles fanatic with hopes and dreams that some day the Beatles would reunite. It really devastated me for quite a while.

For me, a life long fan, I was in Raleigh NC working at IBM when the news of Johns death hit. Just one more person in shock over this tragic night. I stayed home glued to the news crying and proud. I always and forever will be a John, Paul, George and Ringo total fan. After the first day of mourning with tv, news from all over the world I went back to work. I made sure I carried my People magazine on my heart for all (if any) to see I was in mourning. So many years later I get to appreciate all the Beatles have given us and keep on and on giving. Their music, talents, families, all talented and loving. And still creating Peace and Love, Peace and Love
I grew up with the Beatles back in the 60s. We in Britain just loved them, their music and their lifestyles. They became even more famous than the Royal Family! And then the 8th December 1980 and this crazy assassination. Looking back over my life, this tragic event still resounds as if it just happened yesterday! An absolute tragedy!

I feel like nobody talks about how the whole thing must have felt for Yoko, I can imagine it must have really traumatised her. You can say what you want about her, but I applaud her for continuing John’s memory for so long. She’s a very strong women to be able to acknowledge something that awful happened in her past.
She broke up the beatles
Fulfill your plan and purpose in my life. "I recommend you read John's Gospel especially chapter 3.Gbu.John 3v3v22,John 14v6.

As long as Yoko is living; Chapman will be staying in prison.
Chapman deserves more
If on the extremely slim chance that he is ever paroled, he'll never have nor would he deserve to have, any kind of functional life.
Long live Yoko!
Do you know, what would be extraordinary? If Yoko hugged Chapman and said she forgave him. If she truly believed in peace and love...
