Barcus is genuinely my favorite character with his awkward misguided attempts at helping his 'friend' and it breaks my heart anytime someone misses out on all his interactions
Something to note with these is that while circulatory interface is active party members can’t use healing spells on you. Potions will still work. I played with the Artificer mod and these gloves stayed on my artificer until the very end. There were options that were technically better and more “endgame” but I liked them for the RP purposes alone.
Heads up. I wanted to pair this with the halberd from the tower, although It does work well, just note, that the construct buff makes you take 0 healing as constructs are machine and do not benefit from healing spells.
I accidentally killed Barcus, they told me to blow up the cave in, in the forge so I did. But none of them moved out of the way so I accidentally blew them up 😭

The halberd you get from destroying the automaton in the arcane tower. You can pair the gloves with it, the weapon deals damage to you unless you're an automaton
In patch 6, you shouldn't convince him to join your camp when you meet him in Grymforge. There was a bug that he wouldn't show up in Last Light Inn while remain in your camp after you save Wulbren. Just save him in Grymforge and don't talk to him, the questline will still proceed naturally.
My favorite gloves are of dexterity. Bought from gith at the crèche gives you a constant 18 dexterity. So +4 Armour class bump and just respec at withers to put dexterity at 8 so you can put points that would be dexterity into strength or something instead. It’s good for basically anything
Thank you for this tip!!! I’ll buy these from him asap. By the way. Oath of vengeance paladin can use vow of enmity on themselves, giving them advantage on all attack rolls for 10 turns. Using it this way is far better than on only one enemy. I’ll be using these gloves instead to multi class
You can use Bernard’s glaive with a ring that he places on a table after you talk to him, and it’s permanent, unlike this which only lasts for 10 turns
BG3 has way too many magical items, so much so that it really needs an affinity mechanic that either limits simultaneously equipping too many or alternatively requires a long rest before enabling granted spells or abilities.
*laughs in risky ring* Seriously though good tutorial. Thank you. Im currently working out the best two hander build i can think of, this definitely helps.
I’ve done every step to save him and keep him in the game but the trade option is never there for me. He even shows as a vendor on the mini map but he won’t sell me anything.
Try checking on the bottom left corner (If you're on PC) if there's a button for "Trade" while talking to him. That's how I traded with Volo when he's in my camp.
You can use the Light of Creation weapon without fear of being stunned using these gloves as well. Which a great weapon for Laezel or Warlock as a bound weapon using great weapon mastery.
I didn’t know these existed. I always just use gauntlets of the growling underdog in dror ragzlins treasury. Advantage on melee attacks when 2 or more enemies are nearby is silly good for how early you get them
I did a bunch of other stuff after talking to the gnomes so when I went back there Nere was already dead and everyone was gone. In Act 3 now and haven’t seen Barcus since Grymforge.
There is one weakness to these gloves. Since you are considered a construct, you will not recieve healing until after the buff ends. Learnt that the hard way a bunch of times
Also, the automaton that is on top of the mage's tower in the Underdark if destroyed carries a glave that only can be wielded by an automaton. As it will injure the user if they are not. Those gloves are the only way to use the glave without the wielder being injured by it.
My first time went something like *brake release lever* "Hmmm what does this do?" *hits it* "gnome screams" "Hmm well that was weird, i see the windmill is going faster now though" I never even saw the poor guy on the windmill, had no idea i just yeeted a gnome across the map.

If you're thinking to use the gloves with bernard's glaive with this, it's not optimal, when you are a construct you cannot be healed and you are vulnerable to thunder spells. Something to remember, is that you can't be healed because you are a construct.
You can take potions though or have them thrown on you
I offset that weakness by multiclassing into a bard and learning a shitload of healing spells
I have recently learned healing spells do not affect construct. I accidentally have a contingency plan in the fact that I am hoarding healing pots
You don't need healing if you deal with the enemies fast enough.
In a fight, I'd rather destroy my enemies with advantage than relying on heal. This game favors aggression far more than passive playstyle
The downside is that you don't get to see him fly.
