They were drinking too. Nobody knows their level of intoxication that evening. Their hotel was only a few blocks away. There was a police officer that he walked past and never asked for help? And don’t start ragging on the police. If he had asked for help back to his hotel…they would have helped him. The blame game here is very disturbing. When it’s released, the toxicology report should indicate more. I’m pretty sure his friends were tanked too. You can’t expect much from drunk people. That’s why I don’t go to bars or hang out with drinkers. It’s not a good crowd to be around. He should have gone bowling or to the movies instead.

These kids, whether they feel guilt or not, need to man up and talk to the parents. It’s the right thing to do. They know a lot about what happened that night before Riley left Luke bar. But they know that somebody from the group should’ve gone with him, that’s why they are not talking to the parents. But they just need to do it anyway, no matter how they feel about this situation. After reviewing the camera footage multiple times it appears to me that it was not alcohol alone that impaired him to such a severe degree. Nashville is a tourist town, famous for its fun night life. Tennessee businessmen & government employees really want this story to go away. This is a great question that more people should be asking. According to the bar he was severed 1 drink and 2 waters before being asked to leave due to some interaction that’s not really known. The red flag for me here is where was he before Luke’s bar if this young man was drugged I can say with the utmost confidence that he was not drugged at Luke’s bar, it had to have been roughly 20 minutes beforehand. Being drugged does not bring on immediate effects, it has to process into your system meaning it’s not immediate. There is even a chance nothing was put in his drink specifically but he could have touched something that had the drug on it and it took longer to be absorbed and the effects didn’t hit him until he arrived at Luke’s and I believe he knew something was wrong because he ordered 2 waters along with his drink which means he was trying to flush out the feelings he was experiencing. Once those drugs processed through his system the effects are quick so I can certainly understand why Luke’s bar cut him off and asked him to leave they assumed he was over served and didn’t want to escalate the situation. I hope his family got video evidence from earlier in the night to see how his actions changed though out the evening as this will help to pinpoint where he was truly drugged

Think about it. The family and the family friend on TV have suspicions, which is fine and why you hired a PI, yet you have been unable to interview his friends after all this time who evidently have not volunteered to talk with you, yet you are not angry or suspicious of them but seem to direct those emotions toward the police? I would be angry as hell and would have been at their door to find out what the hell was going on between my son and that group that night and why they did not see him back to the hotel. That was the first thing that happened that resulted in the events leading up to the death of your son. The second thing that happened was your son, for whatever reason, decided not to ask that friendly officer for directions back to his hotel even though he was drunk trying to read a GPS in the dark that led him in the wrong direction. And there's always discrepancies in these cases regarding what witnesses saw. Remember the nice woman who was sure the homeless man she saw was wearing Riley's black and white shirt, leading to the conclusion by those who think he was murdered that a homeless person attacked or killed him? Not true. That was the shirt still on his body. I'm still baffled about these friends and why the parents have not had contact with them. And we need to stop absolving his friends for not contacting his parents because they feel guilty. BS. If they felt guilty, they would have been out there searching for him when he was missing like so many others were doing including out-of-towners.

You know, you can’t go to a person’s home and harass them if they don’t want to talk to you or if they have already talked to you. Can’t keep going to their house no matter what your feelings are. You could be arrested for trespassing, etc…. The problem with taking to the parents is that they are upset and think someone has all the answers when they don’t. Then the harassment campaign starts when the parents don’t believe you. It’s always better to retain a lawyer and speak to the parents through your lawyer. No way would I let my friends parents harass or railroad me just because I was there but know nothing of what happened because I was drunk too. Always get a lawyer because they need someone, anyone to blame this on.

There's a troubling rumor in recent years of a newer trend wherein people are getting injected with needles of some type of "roofie"-ing substances, but it's never been a commonly detectable long-lasting substance that was used, and so there haven't been any verifiable toxicology results for patients who go to the hospital reporting it. There have been a few incidents with people feeling a sharp sting when they're out at a club or something, becoming disoriented or passing out, and later after close examination at the hospital, they are able to locate an injection site on the person, despite having no way to know what the drug was. Unfortunately, I think whatever the substance is would be unlikely to be uncovered during whatever battery of tests happen in a typical toxicology report as well. This is of course a very unusual thing, especially in the US (most cases have been in the UK & Europe so far), but in the reports I've seen, there didn't seem to be any particular motive as to why the assailant was injecting people. For instance, a girl went to the club with her friends and she started to lose consciousness on the stairwell, at which point her friends- knowing that she had only had 1 drink and couldn't possibly be that drunk already- called an ambulance. Why inject someone if they are not even alone and you don't plan to rob or assault them? However, it's way easier to jab someone with a needle in passing in a crowded venue and get away with it, I guess, than it would be to go around trying to spike people's drinks. Pretty terrifying stuff, because you can't possibly watch your back at all times and most people are unlikely to be thinking about that when they're out partying. I'm not saying that's what happened here, but it is one, albeit pretty obscure, possibility. I think it's more likely that one of Riley's frat buddies could have offered him a valium or something, if anything aside from alcohol turns out to be involved. You cannot be too careful with pills these days, because any from an unverified source could contain some amount of fentanyl.
I wonder who else Riley might have been associating with at that bar. Seems like he was a very friendly, personable guy, and I heard in one of the reports that he wasn't thrown out of bar for "conduct", but rather some kind of misunderstanding happened because "he was trying to help someone". I have no idea what that means because no other details were provided about the context of his activities at the bar. I'm glad I'm not alone in wanting to know EXACTLY what happened to Riley. Not only is this a super tragic ordeal for his friends and family, but he just has that "nice" look- I can tell he was probably a pretty sweet person, and he reminds me a lot of a boy I had a crush in back when I was fifth grade. It really eats at you to see the world lose someone who had their entire life ahead of them. I am old enough that I could almost be Riley's mom, and these stories shatter your heart. If anyone was involved in some nefarious way, I really want to see that person(s) brought to justice, for my own peace of mind, even as a complete stranger who lives 5 states away. It is just so disgusting and horrific to target someone in their most vulnerable moments.

Watch and look for their victims that have knowledge of money 💴 cash in wallet watching for the bar tenders waiters collecting money or credit cards.. that are drunk.. they get kicked out. The couple gives a Description of the person getting kicked out or they take a picture and then their other tag teaming crime follows him watches him or her the victim and then they put them in another car drive them off take what they need and it’s it’s considered a robbery and they dispose of them. I guess this has been going on for a long time, so maybe the police need to start looking at random couples kind of hanging out just at the bar is kind of you know watching in the bars and then watching outside the bars and see how then you probably could find their little Group of a scoundrels that I’ve been doing this to many many people

I know that everyone keeps talking about Riley being drugged. I really doubt that. These guys were probably drinking at the hotel room before they went out. Was probably doing shots at the bar that he didn't purchase. they said he Bought 1 drink and 2 waters. They don't say what he consumed. When it comes to hsi frat brothers, guy leave each other like that all of the time. I can't tell you how many times my brother has told me his friends literally left him at a club in another state. So from that time forward he drove himself and wouldn't drink. it's just what guys do. I do however think that there was foul play involved. He probably chose the Tempo bldg instead of the Tempo hotel in his phone and was following the map directions there, which is why he went the wrong way. The Tempo bldg was just around the bend from where he saw the cop, which is why he didn't ask for directions. He thought he was almost there. But something happened (robbed maybe) and ended up in the water. This happened in the criminal justice complex, just a few yards from at least 1 cop, and there were several others looking around for someone breaking car windows. There were several cop cars driving back and forth. The cops missed the altercation or didn't hear it. They are embarrassed that this kid was murdered so close to police activity, in front of police cameras, so they tried to sweep it under the rug as quickly as possible. All of the bldgs in that area are all criminal justice bldgs and should have tons of cameras on them. I know they had to have caught something.

These Fraternal Brothers / Group I feel did " dropped the ball " they should of never let Riley Strain leave totally on his own. Please understand I'm a big fan of this channel and I think you do an amazing job. There's a lot of hard work behind what you bring to the table and it doesn't go unnoticed. Taste of Country is an asset to the YT community and I'm not going anywhere. Nor do I think anyone else should either. Which makes the one criticism I have make me feel like kind of a jerk. But I need to say it. Something needs to be said about the conspiracy theory you mentioned:
I've been drugged 3 times in my life. I've often recounted it as 2 because for some reason my neighbor always mentally slips out of the category for me. I'll get to that. For context I am currently a 50 year old female; everything below except the neighbor happened in my thirties.
The first time from what we can tell from the videos and receipts from another bar a couple miles away, the man who drugged me was 40ish tourist with a South London-ish accent. After cordially saying goodnight to me and my friends (all others were male), he left the bar immediately after drugging me, got in a cab, went to his hotel bar, and left on his flight in the morning. Before I even woke up (thankfully in my own bed).
The second time we don't know who did it but I was hit immediately after I left my first shift at a bar. I'd had zero alcohol; just a shift drink poured right in front of me by the female bartender, after all the customers had left. The last thing I remember was my hand on the door as I said goodnight to everyone. They found me trying to swim the gravel parking lot. All my money from work was intact, my clothes were intact, I *felt* intact and there were cameras outside that shown no one ever past by me, on foot or otherwise. Again, thankfully, I woke up in my bed.
After that it (sort of) never happened again to me -- but while I was working (bartender) I caught 3 other men trying to drug girls. Two of them were college kids (both offenders and victims) and the other was an older man we were in the process of kicking out of the bar. He was the only one who gave a reason: he was pissed at her for getting him kicked out. I'd heard of several other attempts at other bars throughout the years and a few were male. Robbery had always been the motive.
When I was 41 my female neighbor, about ten years older than me and ironically from Tennessee, slipped Ativan into the only drink I had at her house -- one she insisted I drank and took a curious amount of time mixing. I missed the entire next day and a sizable opportunity. Another, better neighbor found me passed out in Mary's front yard and brought me home. I'm not even sure it was Ativan -- I'm only guessing because it's one of several prescriptions she had on her kitchen counter.
What were the motives? Some are obvious, some aren't. I...believe...the first guy just got off on being able to slip in, mess someone up as an ego stroke, and slip right back out. Or maybe it was practice. Who knows? The second, I don't even know who did it (no inside cameras) let alone why. As for Mary the only thing I can put together is that she's a hardcore alcoholic who (her words on other occasions) just wanted me to "loosen up."
As far as men go, a staggering number of victims never report it -- although there are usually only 2 reasons given for drugging a male: Robbery, or that other one. Men are taught from a very young age not to whine, to handle their own business, that emasculation is something to keep hidden, that you're weak if you can't hold your alcohol and someone robs you, etc. The statistics are even further damaged by the millions of male children left to fend for themselves on the street that never report the criminal acts against them. So when giving stats make sure you factor that in because statistics are only true for the people who participate in them. That said, there is STILL a wide gulf between the ratio of male and female victimization.
As far as toxicology goes, in a still-breathing specimen you have less than 24 hours before most things like Royhpnol are gone from the system -- which is why it makes things so hard to prove for victims who may have already metabolized the drug. Worse still, the blood alcohol of a body found in water rises severely (why I don't fully understand -- google it) while other drugs, depending on facts I don't pretend to know, seem to disappear altogether. Drowning (dry or otherwise) does a lot to damage organs, blood and other soft tissues, which is why an ME will usually go into the bone marrow of larger undisturbed bones. Which bones also currently eludes me.😅 Sorry about that.
My point is, just because we may not understand the motive doesn't mean there isn't one. I will concede that there are motives to every last little thing we as human beings do -- whether they are hidden from others or even from ourselves. We have to allow for doubt when it comes to things that we may never know -- not push them aside as conspiratorial. Unless the speaker is wearing a tinfoil hat, that is. Please try to be more sensitive to others when calling something you don't understand a "conspiracy." It's like telling thousands of people what they suffered is invalid because there's no motive. More so, it doesn't help us get any closer to what happened to Riley with a closed mind. I'm not claiming it's some "Happy Face Killers" thing because I definitely don't believe that. But something happened to him and we shouldn't count anything out until we know for sure.
If anything in here offended you I'm truly sorry because that's not my intention at all. I'm just trying to keep the conversation going, with as few rash (or offensive) decisions along the way.

Just because you are not looking at someone doesn’t mean they are innocent! Now that you have given plenty of time for his so called friends to get their story straight you need to bring them in and question them! Seems to me that they have a lot to hide, and that the authority’s know little about how to conduct an investigation! The parents are simply blind struck by the death of their child!

You mean the family has not talked to his frat brothers yet? What? Those boys should have already went to see them! Man up! Where are THEIR parents? If my son had been one of them, I would have taken him to see them out od respect, myself!

A lot of the answers to Riley's demise that night may have started at the hotel with his fraternity brothers and continue throughout the evening including whatever went wrong at Luke's 32 Bar

my opinion, foul play, a gay man took his pants phone wallet boots...i think something more might of happened to him. He had to be given something, then he died and his body put in river

I have thought and said from the beginning, that for one why was Riley the only one so messed up and wasted and was the only one out of his so called friends group that gets kicked out and was more wasted? The group of guys he was with knows more and someone had to have gotten him in the state that he was in at the bar! Doesn't make sense. So sad!! God bless his parents and RIP Riley.

It's too bad that Riley talked to a cop & a couple to bad they didn't help him, a little kindness might have saved his life as they new he was stumbling around.

As someone who lived 30 miles north of Nashville, I can tell you that Nashville, as well as most other Cities, can be a scary place depending where you go and when, I lost my beautiful 42 years old daughter in early 2018 in Nashville, due to a man that shot her execution style in her head, My life changed forever that day, My heart goes out to this family, So sad that this wonderful son with such potential is gone, I am praying for his family to get the answers and what closure they can, 😢

The best theory I have heard is he went down to the river to urinate and undid his belt and stumbled in the river-that makes perfect sense. The autopsy showed no foul play involved.

@@menagifto4584 the toxicology takes that long but -they can examine the body in a day……to rule out no physical foul play. Do you have a link to the 2nd autopsy??
