Im getting some audio Crackling in this vid. Might be my headphones, but regardless. Love the info you share and the music. Awesome for a newer storyteller. Thanks for the Vid.
Thanks for the input! Sadly, that was one of my first recordings, before Nick taught me decent audio technique, and that was my mistake. I'll be doing a revised video when the book officially drops!
@@TheBotchPit sweet. Can't wait. I was too late for the Kickstarter, so now I wait with bated breath for the actual release. Have they given you guys in the Kickstarter any idea on when that's supposed to be?
Loved this video, haven't seen your channel before, but I'm so glad I found it! I love Geist ever since the first edition, and I am just STARVING for content and different opinions about the second one. Also, I'm a big fan of the CofD and you have so many videos covering different gamelines, I'll be sure to check those out! PS: Cool introduction, I was very intrigued by the short story at the very beggining of the video!
I wasn't aware Geist was even getting a second edition. I have a few cross-book question regarding Changeling: the Dreaming and Geist. I think that a sluagh and a sin-eater can presumably work together in an adventure, but is there anything which would put the sin-eater in danger from learning about the kith? I vaguely from the recent edition that humans aren't "supposed" to know about the kith, and I believe there's also something in the newest edition of Changeling saying that the Mists wouldn't affect supernatural beings. So I think that would apply to sin-eaters as well. Since sin-eaters and sluagh can communicate with the dead, and most humans are sin-eaters (I guess arguably the kith as well), would the sin-eater potentially be risking their unlife by knowing about the kiths and kith society? Is there anything preventing the sluagh from divulging anything a little about kith society to the sin-eater, and would that mark the sluagh for death as well by kith society? I had this idea of a sin-eater and a sluagh working every now and then for their own selfish purposes, but I wasn't sure if it would work by mechanics.
We're plotting on how to get to future events like Gencon, but unfortunately we're kind of.. bound... this year. Get it? I know, dad jokes. We would have loved to play, though! Hopefully next year!
The PDF has been released and I've been going over it and loving it... But I just don't get Undertakers. Do you plan on doing more of these videos about the krewes?
Oh man, Chris here. So, real talk time! While Hunter is Nick's jam, I'm all about Geist and Mage, and I've been diving deep into the PDF myself. No worries; after one more guide I'm on right now, which will be TOTALLY out of left field, you bet your ass we're going intensively Ghost. I've got you.
As well as a new, much higher quality Beginner's Guide to the official lore, not like the manuscript one you just listened to. If you like the original manuscript guide at all, the next will hopefully blow your mind.
i have so many questions about geist i can understand mage easily but geist eludes me mainly the keys but i still cant wrap my head around the whole concept past almost dead and then not.
Beast is being finished today, as should the first introduction to the CoD fiction, and either the BG to Geist 2E (not the manuscript, the actual book) and a Guide to the Underworld. That's not including whatever Nick is up to. Should be a very busy weekend. Sorry for the delay! Been a crazy few weeks for us.

Hey there! I'm afraid you're mixing up your Changeling stuff a bit. Geist is in the Chronicles of Darkness line, along with Changeling: the Lost. Dreaming is the original World of Darkness, and the Geist equivalent there is Wraith: the Oblivion. I'm afraid C:tD is the only old WoD game I have no knowledge in at all.
@@TheBotchPit Not sure why I didn't see the reply! It's fine. I think the best way to put CtD is how some old board on /tg/chan put it--Otherkin: the Glitterbombing. It's a game about trying to keep that "spark of life and creativity" alive. You have a faerie soul that mended to a human host and went dormant until such-and-such a time. When the soul awakens, they go through a process not unlike a caterpillar. Some fae (kith) never wake up and shuffle on to the next life, and that process can be a dangerous thing to go through alone. Your "magic" (glamor) is powered by "imagination"--and that can go either way. You can inspire or frighten someone, and the soul "feeds" off of that. You have to balance your mundane life with the faerie life. If you stay too much with the mundane, you can deal with banality--which is when you become a heartless, soulless shell of a human. Your fae soul has died off. The opposite is bedlam, where your pc is mentally unstable. The fae soul has gone too far off for the mortal body to deal with. Oh, and glamor? It's in short supply in the mortal world because humanity has become more banal as technology progressed. Except for the lunar landing--that's what woke up a good majority of fae from sleeping. Mind you, I'm trying to simplify everything. Sluagh are the fae who fit the "creepy goth, yet polite secret-keeping boogeymen" stereotype, to put it bluntly. They speak with ghosts and wraiths (in fact, I think there's some crossover supplement material for Wraith and Changeling: the Dreaming). Think anyone in The Addams Family. Or maybe Bill Nye if he had a goth phase. They may journey to The Underworld, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was some overlap with CtD and the Umbra from Werewolf. The Mists are just a kind of ward to make humans think "did I really see this?" and so on. I don't know if it's any different in Demon or other games.
exactly 2 years ago. I'm watching all of your videos, very interesting settings absolute love it.
Thank you so much!

My absolute pleasure, man! Thanks for listening, and I apologize for the quality of Geist; that's when I was being taught how to record properly.
It's no problem, the recording didn't affect my interest on the video or the content, which is awesome ^^ @@TheBotchPit

I am running a 2nd Ed Geist Larp at Gencon 2019, if you're going. It is called "The Freshmen Fifteen"

@@TheBotchPit Good. My group will more likely than not also be there next year. We also run a CoD Changeling 1st ed Larp.

Thanks so much, and never hesitate to request content! We thrive on that.
Where have.ypu got this music from?
Stoked for this. Preordered but showed up a little too late to back it. Is there a way I can find a link to the “backers only” manuscripts? ;)
I'll look into that for you! Let me get back to you.
Drop me an email at thebotchpit@gmail.com, I may be able to help.

Hi, thanks for the sub! Well, I assume you mean first edition, right? If so, they've changed a ton of the mechanical and lore aspects.
agh i just got used to some concepts in 1.0 i am pissed i have to learn a whole new rule set but oh well thats how the werewolf transforms i guess

It ok I'm looking for quality not quantity
Why is it that the lowest quality of this video is 360 because, it is difficult to watch on slow data speeds
Honestly, I have no idea, but I'll look into it.
5 year anniversary! Happy Death Day!

late.
