      Yes and no. Will Stein still designed the entire offense and called plays but they basically gave him a free pass to modify plays or call audibles if he saw something on the defense he didn't like and it paid off. The team said it was like having an extra coach on the field with you.

    Who’s ready for rookie camp!!! This guy is !!!!! His pre snap read ability is elite. I feel like a lot of today’s QB’s don’t do a good job at this. They just look for the deep shots. Bo likes to be surgical and spread it out. Expect multiple 1000 yard receivers in the future! Brock Purdy had 4 1,000 yard guys on his squad last season. System QB’s tend to be successful. I think they are making a come back in the NFL.

      I like him a bit more than Mac coming out of college because you could have put anyone in that Alabama offense and they'd be amazing. I've liked him since I first saw him fresh out of High School at Auburn. He was wild back then but had something. Against Alabama the defense threw everything at the freshman and he responded. Stayed in college last year to sharpen his skills. Something Maye should be doing this year. To me Bo Nix is the best QB in the draft. Williams and Maye get most the attention. Don't know why Maye is getting any attention because he's done nothing. Beat 1 #25 team in 2 years and hit 51% that day. Last 2 games 44% and 57% against unranked and both losses. Williams and Maye is ALL we hear. Daniels and Bo Nix were both superior in college last year yet barely get mentioned. A Heisman winner and a 78% passer should be mentioned more, don't you think?

    I think that starting in college more than one or two years has help him a lot. I can't remember the last time I see a NFL ready QB like him, in college football.
    I understand what people say about his arm, but all that type of accolades are in his Auburn tape. He can play hero ball but he's mature enought to not force that playing style.
    This may not be a popular take, but if you have a play designer like Sean Payton at HC, that's the guy to draft.
    Even over other QBs in this draft that have crazy highlight plays, but can't execute on that level.

    It appears to me the "collegee" pass to the tight end at 3:18 was deliberately thrown behind. Look at the Utah defender coming toward him from the middle of the field. Had he led him more it would have been close to being a collision....or getting his tight end lit up right after the catch. As it was, Nix correctly through the ball a tad behind to get his tight end to sit down and make the catch without incident. Those are the kinds of throws his receivers will all tell you they really appreciate.

    The thing with Nix is that he looks like an NFL QB because, well, he should be. Dude is gonna be 24 when he gets drafted. Don’t really see a ton of upside. Def could see him be that Purdy type of guy for some team. I think the Raiders would like him. But enough to draft him top 10? Idk. He’s a top 50 pick I think, but based on how far Levis fell last year I think his likely landing spot is early 2nd. I feel similarly about Penix especially given his injury history (had a season ending injury 4 seasons in a row before Washington). I think one of those two might end up in the first tho if none of the juniors declare. Like Beck from Georgia who’s probably going back, Ewers from Texas, Shedeur Sanders, and McCarthy. Bc if none of those guys declare there’s a pretty clear drop off from Penix and Nix to the next guy (Michael Pratt from Tulane then maybe Rattler out of South Carolina)

      Bust chances aren’t really something that you can give. I would’ve told you that Mac Jones had a very low bust rate and look where we are now.
      For me busting usually has more to do with the situation or something overlooked in the draft process than a risk you take when drafting.

    • @t4d0W

      I think the bust term gets thrown out of context so often that it loses meaning from people attempting to use it. They start including players projected overall in the first round who never develop into an pro-bowler and never taking into account situation or maybe the org made a really bad reach for them. Hell even 'reach' gets overrated because people only work off the consensus draft board and not the one the team actually is working with.

    No. Fails under any pressure situation and/or while he's behind. You didn't see that much in Oregon because he was usually ahead and playing against soft Pac 12 offenses.

    You lost me calling those RB angle routes wheel routes‼️ 🤦🏿‍♂️ #cmonman lol. Pretty good analysis otherwise... I’m a Pats fan that wishes we drafted a WR1 with the third pick instead of Drake Maye. Bo Nix tape and pro day is my favorite so far

  • @Anon-zl4ne
    @Anon-zl4ne 4 місяці тому

    Hmmm, I think Bo Nix really needs to work on stepping into his throws. So many of his throws were made leaning on his back foot. In the NFL that will lead to more incompletions and interceptions because of the lack of velocity associated with throwing off the back foot.

      I’m hoping my Vikings are going to trade up to get him. Everybody is going to scoff and be shocked that we traded up so high to get him, but anybody who knows anything can clearly see this guy is being criminally underrated.

    I like how you break things down but it feels like you picked a game that was early in the season before they really got things rolling, when I think about breaking down a players draft stock it extends beyond one game, maybe on further break downs use more than one games footage. Keep up the good work though.

  • @DPMixing

    Hard pass on Nix in the first round. 64% of his yardage was run after catch. 121st in air yards per attempt according to PFF. He rarely ever had to come off his first read and go through a full progression. And he played on the most talented team in his conference against the weakest defenses in the power 5. Last the physical traits are good but nothing elite. If he was built like Maye or had the improvisation of Caleb you take him in the first but he screams system QB whose stats were padded playing in structure in a really good college offense.

    • @joem8496
      @joem8496 4 місяці тому +2

      He's the only guy in the top 5 or 6 really reading the d and making those timing throws. Call that a system QB but it looks like potential NFL talent to me.

    "Highly-graded, big-time NFL throw." Huh??? So confused yet sheds much light as well as to how i always seem to see ranks a lot different. My grade F, TFG grade A. Haha. Good stuff. Draft is so awesome.

    Bust written all over him. Made a living playing catch with 2 pro recievers vs weak defenses. Wont work against pro defenses. Drake Maye and Mccarthy would have 6000 yds passing in that situation
