Nix had 5 OC’s in 5 years, Nix is criticized for the quick hitting plays near the LOS. However, he’s the highest rated 2023 QB under pressure. Other critical areas that show he will transition to the NFL is he’s rarely sacked or fumbles. Yes he’s 24, but that’s a positive when you consider the timeframe for drafted QB’s to establish themselves.

That's how fast his release is sometimes. He is also great at throwing off his back foot and off platform when he's scrambling.

  • @addicusbrown

Watch him vs any team. Especially the two UW games. Even when he starts out struggling he finds a rhythm and its not like McCarthy where he goes long stretches without contributing to the offense with his arm. Not like Maye with wild great plays and innacurate passes for stretches. He is a read QB. 3 step drops and fire. This is what Matt Stafford had to start doingn at the Rams to win a Super Bowl.

He’s exactly what a lot of NFL teams are looking for. They don’t need all the extra stuff, they don’t need all the crazy I’m talent or running ability but Bo is capable of more than just simple football, he can move and throw, he’s got a lot of running ability and throwing on the move. Somebody’s going to get a late first round or early second round quarterback who’s more than capable of starting right away.

1:45, I don’t like how he said Bo Nix might not have the most strongest arm and might not be the most accurate, people don’t understand that Bo Nix broke and all time NCAA record for completed passes, you don’t do that for being inaccurate. And as far as his arm strength, watch the tape a little closer the dude is throwing 60 yard bombs off his back foot, if that doesn’t translate strong arm then I don’t know what does. People need to stop listening to the negative noise that you hear in the nfl about this guy and just see what you see. Bo Nix is the most accurate QB in this draft class, he smart, can read both sides of the field, doesn’t take a lot of sacks, mature, he’s got everything that you would want in a franchise QB 🔥🔥🔥

He did have 3 picks this season. One was a receiver bobbling it. One was a UW defender that was out of bounds and thus he didn’t see him, and the player should have been called for it, nullifying the pick. The other one was a bad decision.

Caleb, Jayden, Penix and Nix are the type of QBs that fans will say "****” we play them this week. All for different reasons, which is crazy.
Great breakdown Chase. When this crazy draft season is over will you do one of these for Tom Brady and Peyton Manning? I don't think Tom would have been drafted in today's era or would have been a deep dark horse pick like Purdy. It would be interesting to see what the film says.

I think he is still raw. He basically has one top 10 team in his conference and doesn't perform great against them. For me he should be drafted to be stashed and matured. If you are the Commanders, Raiders or Vikings that's not really feasible. If you are the Patriots, Giants or Jets you can do that. As a Commanders fan he seems to process slowly like Sam Howell does. Experience is the key to fixing that so he should stay at UNC another year but how can he if he is going in the first round? Even the second?

His accuracy is great, he can fit it into tight windows, and he's a good runner when he needs to be. He's mature and has excellent character, coach's son, studies tons of film. Watching both this film and Kurt Warner’s breakdown of him against UW, you can most definitely see that USC was not as good on the back end. In the UW game and even on quite a few plays in this game I constantly see Nix avoiding the deep downfield throws (unless they are running like 4 verticals), even when they were absolutely there. Either he doesn’t trust his own arm or doesn’t trust his receivers in some of these 1-on-1 opportunities. It is probably a big reason he didn’t throw very many interceptions. But it is in stark contrast to Michael Penix, who would ALWAYS make those throws. Penix might end up throwing a few more picks, but the shear number of big plays drastically increases with him throwing the ball over Nix. Almost all of Oregon’s big plays, were YAC plays thanks to his WRs speed.
Can he still be successful in the NFL? Yes. But if NFL coaches and DBs KNOW he won’t take the downfield throws, they will bate him all day to make the big throws and either his team will have a lot of short drives, he’ll throw more picks, OR he will prove he can make those throws. Justin Herbert did just that.

NIX threw more TD passes than Penix, and more TDs of longer than 30 yards than penix

@@analyticalinsight From what I have seen Nix is making more downfield throws against OU’s lesser opponents, but the shear number of balls he throws that are traveling IN THE AIR over 25 yards were not as many as Penix. By no means am I saying that this is a bad thing with Nix. In fact, that could be a direct reflection of him maturing and not trying to make the big throws all the time and just taking what the defense gave him. When at Auburn he threw a lot more interceptions. So I think he learned a lot being at Oregon and learned to just take what was immediately there and not feel the need to try to push it downfield. Some of the best QBs in the NFL have been good for that very reason.

Just wanted to say, the first play on the supposed back shoulder pass, was not on the back shoulder it was thrown to the inside of the receiver and any Nfl CB is knocking that pass down or intercepting it. His accurate passes are often off target.

Everyone likes their QB's they drafted on draft day. Let's see how these guys all stack up in a few years. 2021 QB's are all with different teams and basically busts. Only Lawrence is with his team that drafted him and he's not exactly setting the world on fire.

I'm not a professional QB or anything, but that first throw looks like absolute crap to me. That is not a back shoulder throw. He leaves it way too far inside. A competent DB would have broken that up if not picked it off, rather than falling down for no reason. Like yeah, ball placement doesn't matter when you're 1-on-1 with USC's dime cornerback, but that is not an NFL throw.

Or maybe he’s smart enough to know it’s a USC cb so he’s smart enough to do just that and clearly he doesn’t throw many bad balls if he only has two interceptions

Bro this has to be satire.. if not you’re really ruining your own credibility. We have eyes dude. You’re showing the most unimpressive film and trying to hype every little detail to convince us it’s not just mediocre QB play to great receivers. Don’t try to make “content” man, casuals don’t even watch this stuff. Your audience is people who genuinely want an experts opinion on the game. You don’t have to be extremely technical, but at least give your honest opinion and analysis. This just sounds like you’re forcing yourself to hype him up by exaggerating the impressiveness of the most basic things every QB should do
