agreed, came into watching Penix thinking he was that dude, then I realized that Odunze and Polk were the real heroes. Give Penix credit for having the balls to give his guys a shot, but what looks like a good back shoulder throw from Penix a lot of the time was really just Odunze's physicality allowing him to box out defenders while tracking the ball in the air, then making a late-second adjustment. Penix isn't bad but he was definitely not the real reason Washington made the Natty.
Man you can tell Penix trusted Odunze with his life lol, he was slanging that shit in his general direction without looking or just staring him down a lot. Odunze rewarded him in kind more often than not and even caught multiple passes that would've been interceptions otherwise. And I don't think this counts all the targets that resulted in DPI either.
Theres reason why panic isn't a top five pick in the draft lol Rome rounds was. This video showed how bad panic was and should've had thirty hints if wasn't for Rome saving his ass lol
@@RB-.- you don’t have to be left alone wide open to be open in the NFL. He is 6’3 with 39 inches vertical. Is one yard of separation is equivalent to Malik nabers 5 yards because of is height, body, and vertical. The ball just needs to be thrown with more arch. Look at Caleb Williams passes and compare it to penix
@@steelermike5219who cares what Caleb does outside of football? He’s not hurting anybody and I guarantee he doesn’t care what closed minded people like you think. Can he play football at a high level? That’s all I care about. I have never seen a fan base be so against an amazing prospect.
Its so rare that he gets open unless its a defensive bust or he's being schemed open on a screen or dig. He's lucky he's a contested catch monster because NFL DBs have potential to eat him alive.
Penix and Jayden Daniels both had 2 elite WRs in college football. 3 will go in round 1 and Washington's #2 will be taken in the 2nd round. Hence, why I prefer Caleb, Drake and Bo Nix as the sleeper.
he just does not get as much separation as you want from your number 1 WR in the NFL imo. his release is really underwhelming to put it lightly...he just doesn't win at the line of scrimmage vs press. damn near all of his catches vs press man situations were contested, never catches that happened after he created separation by setting the DB up with his release and then running a sharp route. now with that being said, his hands are in.cred.a.ble. ...like i mean a truly phenomenal contested catcher. whether its a 50/50 jump ball or he's getting hit right after the catch, he's bringing it in 8/10 times, which will (clearly) make up for lack of separation at times. my concern would just be will he disappear sometimes in the NFL when going against defenses that challenge his ability to separate vs press situations, specifically against press man and tbh, there's other WRs in this class that i just don't have that concern with at all. cannot put him lower than WR4 as there's simply not 4 WRs better to me but i do think he is a clear tier below MHJ & Nabers. just my humble opinion and just what i saw...dont come at me too hard y'all lol. excited to see where he goes tho, could be a good weapon for a team. hopefully he proves my concerns to be nonsense.
Im gonna go on a limb and say hes at best a #2 wr in the NFL. I dont see enough speed or separation. seems more of a contested catch possession wr. I think he should be drafted in 2nd - 3rd realistically. Keon Coleman is similar player who runs a 4.6 and i see Coleman with more separation and hes borderline 1st rd guy who prob is better place in rd 2. I would draft Nabers, Harrison, Thomas, and Leggette over Odunze in a second
I mean speed and separation don’t always translate in the nfl, all receivers need to be physical and be able to win contested situations. Plenty of receivers who run in the 4.4s and 4.5s that are wr1 on nfl teams. I’d argue that many teams would rather have a receiver who can get decent separation, but has amazing hands over a more explosive receiver that doesn’t have great ability to fight through contact.
@@pauliej345 that's fair, in my opinion I think he separated pretty well, but it doesn't always look pretty since penix was not consistently accurate with the ball. For example he often had to come back to the ball into a contested catch since it was underthrown. Looking at his separation numbers, he has really high success rates against both man and zone. He definitely doesn't have elite acceleration, but his long speed is underrated and he definitely gets open consistently if there's enough time
I agree I see a guy who struggles getting separation and brings almost nothing to the table after the catch. Also the amount of times he fumbles for a wr is scary.
You realize what makes QJ awful is he's a big body and he's a body catcher. This is what happened with Chase Claypool. Rome is a monster contested catch threat. So you've literally flipped a weakness to the biggest strength any receiver has in the draft alongside Nabers YAC
As a bears fan odunze has better release and route running than alshon ever did. I'd say alshon is a better jump ball reciever that rome. Even though rome is a great jump ball reciever himself. He's more of a mix of davante adams and allen robinson.
The bears should have drafted Xavier Legette. They could have traded down and got more picks. Rome has no after the catch talent. He's blase. I'm not impressed for a second. Good dude, but nah. He'll never be a 1.
Bro you are a good person for doing this
For real, I'm only disappointed I found this after the first two days of draft. Lol
I will subscribe to use this for next draft tho.
Brother you dont know how much you helping us football stans out with this brother youre goateddddd
Odunze is legit
As much as I love Nabers i definitely see why Odunze #2 WR on a lot of boards😂
This man unguardable
So happy for these videos 🔥🔥🔥
Welcome to Chicago! BEAR DOWN!
THANK YOU!!!!
DAAAA BEARS!
How does this dude not have more subscribers? You’re goated bro
Odunze is unstoppable if he’s 1 on 1 in the red zone….reminds me of Davante Adams
Except he's bigger.
Odunze is going to FEAST in the league
20:03 with how many near-interceptions Odunze prevented, he could've been DB1 in the class in another lifetime lol
Great content!!
As a bears fan I’m so excited
The more and more I watch I think I might have Odunze over Nabers
Not impressed by Penix tbh. looking at this video, you can tell who’s really doing all the work

@TheSystem0 and Josh Allen gone to him to the top Go Bills!

The more I watch him the more I want him on giants
same i think he's better then Nabers IMO similar 40 times but with a bigger frame 6'3 212
Does he ever get separation?
No, all his contested catches are getting broken up in the NFL too. This guy might be the most overrated player in the draft.

Odunze is a lock hall of famer

He’s my WR2 I think he does all the little things right
Like getting "little" separation 😂
You can pencil him in for a 1,000 yards and 10 TD's a year in the pros.
I like Odunze but i hope Nabers falls to Chicago
