    Great review and insight (especially why it is more expensive). It is funny how I used to like sweeter wines, including champagnes a few years ago. I used to buy the Rose from my favorite champagne Depreville, or even the Demi-Sec variety. Now I am perfectly happy with Depreville Medium-Dry. Thanks Agnes.

    Sparkling Rose is underrated! Had some Kava, Champagne, and Prosecco, and they were all as good if not better than the traditional style 🙏🏻

    You timed this video perfectly for the Swedes anyway, since according to the producer they'll release the DomP Rosé 2008 Lady Gaga version in our stores come January 2023
    Sure it might be pricy but it'd be fun to grab one and if nothing else you get to experience something new and you can't really put a price on that can you? 🙂
    Especially if you get to share it with those dear to you!

      @@NoSediment Happy New Year to you aswell 🙂👸
      And might sound like a silly idea but now after new years and all when people just relax at home then it might be a good time for a video on how to match wine with snacks?
      People often seem to think that wine require a proper meal and it's like it's mandatory to be properly dressed to drink a good bottle.
      Something that's very underrated (in my opinion) is to be able to enjoy a bottle of champagne or a riesling kabinett with some peanuts, popcorn or bag of chips.
      Bring out that relaxed side of wine if that makes any sense 🙂

      One might argue that it is really hard to make a delicate, light and high quality red wine in Champagne (that is used for blending), however I still don’t understand (read: I don’t buy that argument ☺️) why it really should be that much more expensive. 🤷‍♀️

    Would that be "Guns N' ROSÉs with "It's So Easy" playing in the background ... haha ... have to say my preference is usually "Rose" Champaign due to their more complex yet still refreshing flavour ... i enjoy your reviews as one can feel you enthusiasm for the juice ... i recommend trying Riedel Performance Series Chanmpagne glasses ... a lil' pricey but wow factor aplenty ... Cheers ^_~

    Nice video. Had to leave a comment that you’re wrong what comes to ageing the Dom Pérignon 2004 Rosé. It will get better by time. And it surely won’t start to decline before it turns 30 years. :)

    "What's So Special About DOM PERIGNON ROSÉ?"
    ... mostly the marketing around it. Its a blast of acidic taste that is supposedly launched only in the "best years" yet they're launching it every single year since at least 1977.
    The Murganheira Czar Grand Cuvée Rosé Brut has the actual history chops of being sold to the Russian Czar and drank by him and his family, Dom Perignon Rosé only came up to light in 1962.
    In 1980-85 it was blasted for being double the price of other top Rosé Champagnes, now its 10 times more expensive and somehow that makes it a better proposal?
    Good for the uneducated yet rich.
    Edit: On a more positive note, the channel is edging 5k subs, finally. It will a well deserved Christmas gift.

    • @NoSediment

      Hahahaha, yes! That is funny that they launch almost every single year their (only in best vintages wine). However, they themselves note that the greatest wine (blanc) for them was vintage 2003, which rarely any other house declared. But maybe that also was a marketing. 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️
      Anyway, yes, I am very excited about 5k hopefully soon to come. 🙌 That will be great Christmas gift indeed! ☃️

      Are you high? Between 1996 and 2008, Dom released 11 vintages of Rose, hardly every year! And who gives a flying f about Russian Czars? I have been drinking high end champagne for over 40 years, and can tell you without a doubt that DP rose's have been some of the finest champagnes available. If you really want a treat, find yourself a bottle of 2008 Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs, it got it's 100 point score for a reason!

    You are frequently using the term “reductive”. I tried to find the definition of it, but still I have some uncertainty about it. For the illustration, could you please give some examples of particular wines this property applies to in notable (if not extreme) amounts (just for the sake of a better understanding)? Another term I am struggling with is “garrigue” but that is beyond the scope of this video.

    • @NoSediment
      @NoSediment  Рік тому

      Thank You for Your comment. 🙏🏻 It really depends on how I use it. If I talk about reductive winemaking - here I mean winemaking that is protecting juice, must, wine as much as possible from the impact of oxygen. It usually means no Oak, only stainless steel, use of inert gases and ageing on the lees (lees can accumulate a lot of oxygen, but will not oxidise the wine).
      Reduction on the nose - can be both good and bad. In a small doses it adds brightness and freshness to a wine. In larger doses it can make wine smell unpleasant, of which the extreme would be old eggs.
      Garrigue is a something often used in cooking, and is a mixture of herbs, such as thyme, sage, rosemary, marjoram, and can be found in some wines either from grape itself or from ageing in wood. Hope this helps! 🙏🏻

    I won't touch "regular" Champagne (or otherwise)...the hated Chardonnay. On the other hand, I go out of my way to hunt down 100% Pinot Noir Blanc de Noir...a noble use of the Noble Grape.

    I’m still not convinced of Rosé Champagne. It’s one of the few regions in the world where you can blend white and red wine to make a pink cuvee… Does this deserve a premium??? Not from my wallet, I’ll just take some Blanc de Noirs 😛

    • @NoSediment
      @NoSediment  2 роки тому +1

      Hahaha, as I said already.. I am also not convinced. I don’t mind the winemaking technique though, and in Champagne I often prefer the blended ones over the saignee method. What throws me off most of the time is the price. 😳 Cheers! ✨🥂
