Fun facts about Dom Perignon champagne.
Dom Perignon is produced by Moet & Chandon in Epernnay.
The first vintage of Dom Perignon was made in 1921 and released in 1936.
Dom Perignon is always a vintage champagne, meaning that each bottle of champagne contains grapes from the single harvest only. Dom Perignon is aged for a minimum of 8 years, and the current release is 2013 vintage.
Dom Perignon is always a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes, unlike the other Champagne houses. Dom Perignon is not using Pinot Menieur for their blends.
Did you know that Dom Perignon champagne is named after monk Dom Pierre Pérignon who lives in the Champagne region in the 17th century.
Many people still believed that champagne method was invented by monk Dom Perignon, in fact champagne method also know as traditional method was invented in England by Christopher Merret in 1662. Dom Perignon only developed and perfected the Champagne method.
Dom Perignon champagnes are available in three levels of maturity. Dom Perignon P1 is aged for a minimum of 8 years, Dom Perignon P2, which is aged for a minimum of 15 years and the current vintage is 2004, finally Dom Perignon P3 is aged for more than 25 years and the current release is 1993 vintage.

It want. P2 and P3 are two completely different champagnes. P2 is aged for 20 years before it is released, and P3 is aged for 30 years +.
