I’m trying to write a comment, but tears of joy and appreciation keeps uncontrollably flowing from my eyes…… You guys did a GREAT job showcasing the DELICIOUS CUISINE OF TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO 🇹🇹 There’s so much I want to say…. THANKS 🙏🏽 For bringing the land of my birth to me….. Especially on this VERY cold and wintry day here in NYC….. IT WARMS MY HEART ❤️ 🇹🇹 AH MISS MEH COUNTRY BAD😢 P. S. THE TEARS OF JOY ARE STILL UNCONTROLLABLY FLOWING……..
What an amazing video, loved every segment! Cant wait to return in a month!!! 🇹🇹🥰 Also “dosti” means friendship, signifying the way the roti is made. Two dough balls coming together ❤️❤️
Don't know a dam thing about the places in Trinidad left many many many moons ago never been back but thanks to my grandparents the food never left my memories 😊
Good presentation overall. In another vid maybe y'all can feature (sweet items only) - fudge, sugar cake, barfi, sweet rice ETC.....& another VID for savoury items (pudding, roast pork, roast corn, sada roti with - bhagi, tomato choka ETC)
@@Kimmy_95 TRINIDAD 🇹🇹 is truly a melting pot of CULTURE AND CULINARY FLAVORS……. MAKES ME SO PROUD THAT I WAS BORN AND RAISED THERE❤️🇹🇹 P. S. Don’t forget:- Patch Corn, Chilly Bibby and Oysters……
Allyuh chupid trying to sound sophisticated, that was definitely dhalpuri allyuh had in St James. We doh really do dosti here in Trinidad that roti style paper thin and crisp; the main roti styles dat ketch on and survive in Trinidad is sada and dhalpuri and buss up/paratha.
It is not. Sancoche though bearing a Spanish name is a soup cooked by Afro Caribbeans and Afro Latinos throughout the Caribbean. The indigenous people ate very simple foods which were not even seasoned and this is documented in many books written by early explorers.
You need to get the facts straight. Souse originated in Europe and was brought here by Europeans. The word Souse means pickled meat. It was a delicacy in Europe and still is.
I think that visitors come for the blend of foods especially doubles and roti. Stew chicken and macaroni pie. Why is Asha making remarks about Indian food when she is shoving down her mouth. So disrespectful.
I love that this isn’t just a food blog. It’s Educational! Makes my appreciation for Trini food reach new heights!
🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 thank you for your support

Callaloo by itself is called an afrodesiac.
Our soup/ Sancoach is actually from the native Amerindians
It is not. Sancoche though bearing a Spanish name is a soup cooked by Afro Caribbeans and Afro Latinos throughout the Caribbean. The indigenous people ate very simple foods which were not even seasoned and this is documented in many books written by early explorers.

Nothing could make me eat white rice. You better put some colour in that rice, or else imma eat everything but the rice.
Eat drink and be merry dark days are coming😢
Bake 'n shark.
Born and bred Trini and I've never eaten souse or bread pudding. Not for me.
🤤🤤🤤💯
That's not the only food from T&T. Don't fool yourself
