  • @muhamadakmal7097

    I love Origami but for me I don't find big differences between Origami filter and V60. But one thing i found it interesting is when I change the paper filter hario and kalita wave, the taste is different in term of body and sweetness of the coffee. Now I change my coffee paper filter to ABACA TH-2 for medium roast bean and I found that my coffee is flavorful compare to Hario. So I'm wondering whether the design of the filter or the paper.
    But of course the design effect the flow rate. To me personally I just change the grind size according to which filter I wanna use. :)

    @klarinetta Рік тому +6

    I use both the V60 and Wave papers. The Origami with V60 tfilter is slightly brighter than brewing with a V60 cone. With Wave filters I think it's a lot similar to Kalita Wave brewer with complex cup as it cools down but the Origami brings out more body and more balance vs. Kalita has more tea like body. Kenyan coffees can be exceptionally good with Kalita Wave and something like Costa Rica honey,natural and anaerobic processed comes out beautifully with Wave filter in the Origami.

    Love the new set! I would probably brew more with V60 filters as the Kalita filters block the airflow leading to all sorts of problems :)

      Kalita papers work different on the origami. One solution is to stop the brewing process earlier. You will be surprised with the results.

    Loved the helpful and objective review! I wholeheartedly agree with your points. The Origami dripper is pretty & comes in lots of fun colors, but it’s fragile & not ergonomic. There’s no handle, the base is sold separately & since the bottom is so narrow, it can easily tip over when placed standing up.

  • @juan2thepaab
    @juan2thepaab 3 роки тому +8

    Yes it is fragile. I already broke one lol, I am on my second now. Interesting that Kalita Wave filters are slower, I thought that because of the flat bottom, the distance that the water travels from the top of the grounds to the bottom is shorter, so I thought it would be faster. I have not done a side by side comparison, but I feel like I got more flavorful brews using the cone shaped Origami filters. This is a great video and answered many of my questions, however I wish you included some recipes or brewing tips

    I have Hario V60-1 and V60-2. There is difference between these two - same coffee, same grinding size but different brewing time and different taste - interesting and fun. So I was thinking about month or so that I will buy origami and kalita drippers but only for slighty different preperation between these drippers (V60, Kalita, Origami) - more options is more fun for me and Im also thinking to get Fellow Stagg XF Pour-Over Set its not a cheap but why not, I will have a nice collection.

    TLDR
    Aesthetics: 9/10
    Usability: 6/10
    Pros:
    It can use several types of paper filters, both, Kalita and V60
    Cons:
    It is difficult to say whether the change in flavour profile is absolutely down to design.
    Extra cost for holder $$

    I have Kalita Wave (small) and Origami (small). I do prefer the coffee from Origami with Kalita Wave 155 filters, it is brighter and cleaner.
