My fiance and I have been sharing an account with 5 other people for a while, we both have our own profile. Its pretty dumb that we cant transfer both of our profiles to one new acc since we will be on the same IP. Kind of useless for us. I hope they go bankrupt over this, its so dumb.
My parents just created an account because they live in a different house and now I can't transfer their profiles because the account already exists. This feature is useless. No wonder netflix is losing millions. They ask you to create separate accounts and they fail even at that. Now my parents are going to start using an account losing all their stuff. I shouldn't have even bother to try this piece of crap.
Super helpful, but so many ppl are gonna get screwed when trying to transfer to an existing account. I think most ppl would attempt to create a new acct then try transfer just like you did and b hella upset

My assumption was a specific profile on your account is moved to another new email so that that profile does not have access to your info (billing etc) and they can still view Netflix programs with that email but under your payment subscription.... sorta like a liaison email account linked to yours. Got all excited for nothing.

That is a great question. Currently it is just 1 profile can be transfered, per account. Since you have to create a brand new account and cannot login to an account that was created before.
When you selected the basic plan before the transfer and put your card information, were you charged again? Because basically, you already paid for that profile once.
aaahhhh, I created my new account, thinking I could transfer an old profile later. Thanks for explaining the process. There was no indication on Netflix that this would only work when setting up new accounts during the transfer. Now let me cancel my new subscription ....
Can you transfer multiple profiles at once? I was still using my ex's account until this account sharing issue. Im going to set up a new account but my son and granddaughter have profiles on his account too (and live with me) that need to be transferred
Sadly no..the terrible way Netflix set this up was for 1 person to move out of the household and create a completely brand new account. I sadly don't currently see a way to do what your wanting without either paying for 3 accounts or just having them have new accounts made on your 1 new account.

Is it possible for the Netflix profile's continue watching category and other parts of viewing history to be saved so no one would have to start over after the current Netflix profile is transferred to a different account?
I don't understand what this changes except for more people paying for Netflix. Thought there was going to be a discounted plan for those who transfer. They didn't really think this through. When they start blocking people from using from another IP address then it might be something. I pay for 4 streams from anywhere. Will drop to 2 if there is a problem. Whatever.
What happen to account that before transfering? I mean, we had "A" account and in that "A" had A1, A2, A3, etc. Then, we transfer A3 to the new one, "B" account. So, that in "A" account still had A1, A2, A3 / A1, A2 ?
So basically your new account, account B that you transferred the account to will only have A3 in that account. The old account will still have all of the profiles unless they are deleted. Basically it just copies your profile info to a brand new account but keeps the account on the old profile as well.
Netflix needs to fix this.. my husband and I shared a family member's account and now only one of us gets to keep our profile? They need to be transferrable to existing accounts. Too bad for Netflix because that means I'm just going to give the money to my parents to add the extra household. No new account for their statistics and less money for them since they want to be greedy. I'm not paying for 2 accounts for us to both keep our profiles.
Im curious how they can figure out by your IP address who they think is sharing password when people use home wifi, public wifi, cell service and even VPN’s which would show all different IP addresses
I had the same problem, I created a new account, paid and all and then went to transfer but can't use the same account already created, it force you to create a new one.
that's so silly that you have to make a new account through that way. we just made a new account and I discovered this just now so were screwed basically

The issue with this is...how to get the email intitated. If my FIL has deleted the email, there is no button for him to push to resend it. Netflix really made this as hard.
Damn me and my siblings have been using my dads account but we mainly live with our mum so we were gonna transfer all our accounts over but I guess that’s completely pointless, seriously Netflix took in no consideration for teens

Yes, it should send all of that to your new Netflix account so you can pick up right where you left off at.

What about when your settings section has two things listed and neither one of them are about transferring a profile?

I'm wondering that as well... My guess is cookies tracking info on your devices to see what/where and who you are.

Sadly I don't think so. It only seems to give the choice to pick one account and transfer that 1 account to a brand new account.
So it means we can't transfer our profile from an existing account to another existing account. They must have been misleading then.
