How good at precision strikes is this one?
Was just in the shop getting a radio to start training on a flight sim last week. The guy and gal were super helpful and informative. Glad to have them close to the house. Can’t wait to step up from the ez pilot and sim.

Just got my frame together, ordering tpu and fc stack as we speak… my all time favorite quad is my 4” gecko, I have a feeling this one is going to give it a lil competition. Building this one out with speedybee f7, if I love it like I expect I will I’m going to order my wife one. She loves my geckos but the bottom plate is pretty flexible, tanq-s is much more rigid. Think you may have hit a home run with this one!!!
Excellent build, I find the 850mah 100c Lipo is perfect for 5 solid minutes of flying with RFiD module on my same Tanq-S build
Using a lighter to shrink, it must be amateur night! Now I remember why I don't watch Rotor Riot anymore.

Can confirm... I used a pickle as a battery and a chopstick as an antenna. My experience was different!
Check your pickle polarity- i had a problem with that.

@@r3beatty Tx for the tip. I flipped it around and was much happier with flight performance. Also I swapped out the chopstick for a candy cane. Range is about the same but when I loose signal the static is red and white. I consider this an over all improvement.
We need rotor riot to make there own flight controller stack so when the ban Chinese technology we have a backup to rely on

try 3d sewn cross chassis from continuous carbon fiber, yep its without the epoxy laminate binder, but instead like carbon fiber layers sewn together in 3d.
Question, got the Avatar DIY kit. When I upgrade to Betaflight 4.5, none of the motors will spin, downgrade to 4.4 and works fine. I tried updating BLHeli, but couldn't get the BL Heli configurator to read the ESC for an update and I heard BL Heli is not longer an active project so no updates. I'm stuck on 4.4 for now.
You may have not had a motor protocol enabled in the motors tab - it comes disabled by default.
Dumping my txt file should fix that. 😊

@@LetsFlyRC I got one more question which I can't seem to fix. My Avatar seems to be stuck in "Standby Low RF mode". My OSD works great, triple checked everything. The only way I can get the system to record is to go into the googles and turn off "Standby Mode" which I don't like to do because it uses high power not flying. Have you seen anything to fix this? Betaflight 4.5, and Avatar 37.42.7. Can't seem to find a fix for this one, does it work on your builds? Thanks so much.
@@davemicah3086 standby mode needs to be off. I would never want standby mode on.
If you disarm far away, or crash far away, you might find yourself in a situation where you can’t regain signal. Just plug in and fly, and don’t sit around waiting, letting the vtx overheat.
I can’t speak to a situation with standby mode on, because I have never flown my drone in that configuration. Because it doesn’t suit my needs.
@@LetsFlyRC Hey thanks, yeah that's pretty good info, didn't think about that yet. The Tanq-S is my first larger quad, only been flying the 1s walksnail whoop mostly indoor so never thought about getting stuck somewhere. I guess it's not an issue then.
Why is it that no one ever makes these drones without the camera unit. I have an o3 air unit and I would to just buy the drone already made so that I can install my unit and fly right away.

Dude I ordered all this to build along with you, then ordered several small form factor 6s batteries because you say that’s what you run on this setup… these motors are 4000kv and rated for 3-4s… ???? I’m scared to fly this thing on 6s, will it not smoke my motors?
I’m guessing this is why we adjusted motor timing and pwm frequency in heli?!? Either way till I have some confident reinforcement I’m gonna stick with 4s..
