    For the rice color you can use turmeric or saffron also.

    I've been trying to find the perfect cook time for brown rice in my Crock Pot Express, but it never came out quite right. I watched you video and immediately tried your instructions and it is indeed soft and fluffy with just a little bite. Thanks so much for sharing!

    Hi, Thanks for the help again. I tried my new CPE today and cooked rice and a whole chicken and it turned out great 😊 the rice didn't stick at all. I was quite surprised.
    How long do you think would it take to cook chicken wings? About 15min should be enough? Want to try it and unfortunately I don't see too many recipes yet with the CPE. I will also try to create some recipes too 😁

    • @crockpotempire
      @crockpotempire  4 роки тому +1

      regina this just made me so happy! 🥳 I’m assuming you cooked the two separately?!?! Haven’t attempted a whole chicken yet, but have been excited to and it’s on my to-do list! I actually taped a video for wings and haven’t gotten around to it yet! I have made them several times in the Express Crock! If thawed 10 min and if frozen I do 12. I tried them at 15 and they were fine but too soft for my preference and some just fell apart. I don’t think they need that much time especially if you put them under the broiler or in the air fryer! Can’t wait to hear about your creations! Let me know if you come up with any recipes that are a 💯! Happy cooking!!!

      regina oh and I forgot to mention I cook them on the trivet and do not submerge in water or sauce! I sauce them after they pressurize! 😉

      @regina2152 4 роки тому

      @@crockpotempire yes I cooked the rice first and kept it warm. I did figure 15min might be too long. I also want to cook it without sauce. Just enough for them to be ready, and add the sauce then and eventually broil it. I can't wait to see more videos of you 😊 I'll definitely let you know. Now I have leftover rice from today and going to make fried rice tomorrow 😬

      Hey.. I read even in the manual it says you can put it in the dishwasher, but gently handwashing it is preferred to preserve the non-stick coat. 👍

    • @crockpotempire
      @crockpotempire  3 роки тому

      Never be afraid to ask! It is 1-1/4 cups of water to one cup of rice. So 1 cup plus a 1/4 cup which equates to 200 millimeters, 10 ounces or 20 tablespoons for reference! Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions. Enjoy!!! 💖

    Hello fantastic
    I have a question I bought a crockpot express and the first time I used it I managed to cook some veggies . But since every time I try and cook something ( a vegan chili and brown rice ) a disaster.
    I seal the pressure button but it takes a long time heating and while eating a huge amount of steam comes out and the food is either not cooked ( for my brown rice ) or for my vegan chili the liquid the was overflowing .
    Anyone can help me ?
    I tried to find a video where it is shown every step of how to use it but I can’t find one 😢.
    Thank you 🙏

    Does the timer count down ? Or does it say heat on the screen until its done cooking?

    • @crockpotempire
      @crockpotempire  4 роки тому

      Hi Gabe! The timer always counts down and then will beep a few times indicating that it's done. Then it will count upward as it does a natural release until you release the pressure and press stop.

    If I want to make Mexican rice with chicken stock and tomato sauce would I use some of the tomato sauce in place of some of the chicken stock or would I need that exact amount of liquid and the tomato sauce be extra?

    • @crockpotempire
      @crockpotempire  4 роки тому

      OutlawMustard22 Great question! This rice is very different which is why it didn’t make this video! It’s a whole recipe on its own and I’ve been working on perfecting it along with my Jambalaya! YUM! The tomato sauce is too thick and DOES NOT take the place of the chicken stock so the tomato sauce is extra! I would sauté half an onion and some garlic in a TBSP of oil and do 1 and 1/4 cup stock and an 8 oz can tomato sauce! Throw in some cumin and chili powder, too! 🎉

    • @crockpotempire
      @crockpotempire  4 роки тому

      Hi Anne! No, I would not cook white and wild rice together. Just as you said, wild needs much more cooking time (actually even more than brown!) and your white rice will turn out overcooked.
