Ever since I first heard about you, you've been a true inspiration to me, as both an artist and a person overall. Thank you for all you do for the art world. Now I still just need to save the cash for your products, lol.
This should also be used in safety applications. For fire signs, I have used lots of the glow in the dark fire signs and they are rubbish. This would work so much better.
Hi I would like to to try adding lit to.a water based clear floo4 varnish I have painted a pale green 2 m x3m ,would I get some kind of glow ,it doesn't have to be super bright. It's in a poly tunnel with green tint roof so.plenty of light a d heat Thanks David
My nieces have become really scared of the dark, so I've ordered some to paint a big glowy star on the wall by their beds. I'm also going to paint a line down the skirting board to the front door in case the fire alarm goes off in the night and they can't see where they're going, just in case :-)
just ordered, can't wait to use this in my daytime/nighttime landscapes! I find most glow pigments lacking as I have to use far too much to get a good glow for the night scene and it ends up making the day scene look washed out. honestly just from this video I'm relatively confident all my troubles are at an end!
Thankyou for developing such amazing pigments. I always get so excited to see all the new things you invent. I always get so excited to see the science side of art progress.
Can you mix this with a clear base as well? And what about a resin for glowing table tops? Lastly, I'm assuming it has the same reaction to blacklight as normal glow paint?
I don't know anything about painting, and sort of stumbled on these pigments through a series of stories involving some dongle who bought vantablack, but this is legitimately cool. Gonna go see if someone's made some cool ghost portraits with this.
The video states the glow can last up to 12 hours. I tried adding a generous amount of the powder (separately) from the 50g 4-color kit into 10ml vials and mixed them with resin. I exposed the 4 vials I made to two UV lamps, sandwiching the vials between them, for 8 hours and I got about 30 minutes or so of glow time. I tried contacting their support for advice on the resin, and the best they could come up with was "I have an update from our laboratory team. We suggest if you took it into a darkroom you could still see it, but half an hour seems about what we get out of it!" All the website says is, "Mixes straight into resin!". When I asked about returning the product and obtaining a refund, I was told that wasn't an option since it wasn't "damaged", but I was offered a 20% discount code on my next purchase. After that, I received no reply to my emails. I am not sure what logic would drive them to offer me a discount on a future purchase when the current one is so subpar, but apparently, that's how they handle issues. My advice: don't bother with this. I've begun to tell my cosplayer friends and hobby groups how unsuitable this would be for their purposes so they don't make the same mistake I did. I will say this much, they live up to a portion of their name: Culture Hustle. I'm sure you can determine which portion it is.
Omg i bought something from culture hustle too, it took them ages to send it to me, i mean months, and they didnt reply to my messages to support neither. What a weird company, i wish i had read this sooner.
@zeremendos When I first complained to them, they offered to send a second set free of charge, and I took them up on it. I thought, perhaps, the first batch I had received was... not so good. The second proved no better. If a company advertises a long glow time, it also claims it mixes well into resin or linseed oil and neither glow for a significant time, then I can only conclude they're more about the "Hustle" than the "Culture". Or, perhaps, it is more about the Culture of Hustling. Either way, it does nothing to help the company's image... which isn't glowing.
Yay! I just found your channel yesterday and I’m going bananas over all your products! I made an order of the changing color thing and now, I NEED the LIT! Lol

Stuart Semple Is there Any Acrylic Clear Coat or Clear Polyurethane Varnish that would NOT Block the UV Rays from the Sun? Also, if as You said, it is Activated by the Light as well as Heat, then What would happen to it in an Outside Environment in the Winter when it could reach Single Digits F° or even Negative Digits, would it's Luminosity and After Glow Duration be Affected at all?
Stuart Semple I didn't mean anything about Breaking in the Cold. Since it's Heat Sensitive as well, I should have Asked "Would the Luminosity be the Same in ALL Temperature Conditions from Baking in the Sun Outside when it's 100°F all the way down to -10°F"?
Ah ha sorry my misunderstanding :) it's capacity to glow with light exposure is better the warmer it gets - but it would still glow fine in -10 if exposed to light - one thing to note though if you are mixing with SuperBase - SuperBase shouldn't really go above 100 centigrade or it can give off a gas - so if it's going to get really hot you might want to use a different binder :)
Have you changed your ratios at all since this was published? I recently started using LIT, and if I follow the above ratios (distilled water), I end up with very chunky paint, akin to what happens to melted chocolate if it gets a little bit of liquid in. It doesn't spread at all smoothly, no matter how fast I try to use it. I see videos on the CH instagram which show using either no water or the tiniest amount at the end.

Help! The 2.5:1 you demo here, and on the label, gives me chalky “mud” not even paste, it’s so dry. Is there something wrong with it? I didn’t buy it new - it was in the classroom I inherited!
@SSemple, I am a professional acrylic fluid artist and am wondering about the possibilities with acrylic pouring. More specifically, can I add a pouring medium and use it with the rest of my fluid acrylics?
I've not tested it, but I see no reason at all why it wouldn't mix nicely into a clear pouring medium. If you test it out let me know how you get on because I'm sure others would be keen to know!

Hello. I purchased the LIT Pigment and the Superbase, and have a few questions. 1. How long does it take to completely dry? 2. How many layers of paint does it take to achieve the ultimate glow? 3. How long between paint layers do I have to wait for it to dry?
Stuart, are you going to redesign the pots LIT comes in as they are badly designed. From a tightly closed lid, if you happen to tip the pot over or store it upside down, when you go to unscrew the lid, the powder pours out from the lack of a sealing ring between the lid and the top of the pots screw thread. Both the Blue and the original LIT I bought are like this and I really want to buy the newer yellow one but am loathed at having to buy yet another container to store it in.
I dont think it your hair can absorb this kind of pigment. Soms people even struggle with making their hair white and they need to paint it multiple times.. But im not a hairdresser.
It would probably work great to temporarily color hair if mixed with hair gel (like single wash kind of temporary) but there's no way to make it permanent.
I'm super excited to get my LIT today for a special project I'm working on. Can you put the LIT into an oil based urethane resin for work on wood? I am using Arm-R-Seal urethane topcoat. If so, what ratio should I use?
hmmmmm i wonder if you could mix it with some clear matt lacquer and then paitn it on sth like brass could make for an interesting efect if you get the coating of lit thin enough so that the actual brass color shines ligthly through it just an idea :3
+LobotiLP it might work :) it'll mix into the lacquer not sure if it would illuminate the brass but I think it's an experiment worth doing because it could look really cool
I purchased the LIT powder for a project, thinking it would be the set to make the paint, but when my package came,, there was no superbase... My question is why would it be sold without the base??? That's very deceiving to the consumer...😫... Why would it be sold together?? Now, the project i need it for had a deadline, and now I'm going to miss the deadline because now I have to order the superbase and wait for that to come. 😒
Awesome product, may I ask truthfully how much roughly would it cost me to buy a load of this paint for the four walls in my bedroom? I’m thinking of combining this awesome feature on the walls with some of the worlds darkest paint (Musou Black) on the ceiling and skirting boards etc, I have a few ideas if I can afford it that is although I know it will not be a cheap project
@@MrMunizguilherme yes i did test it on piece of spare wood / 3 coats of blackest black + LIT and 2 coats of crystal clear sealer / turns out its not as black as it used to be but it stays black mid day and glow in the dark .

@@MrMunizguilherme i dont think it will glow as u intend it to / its glowing when temperature is about body heat or so / cant really say how hot its is my small room but its definitely warm . I just mixed both paints with black7:3lit ratio . for watchmakers i would rather use ( watchlume paint) .
I tried this on some bike rims for better visibility at night. The lime green when dry is a bit odd but not too bad, while riding it looks fantastic, but, when I stop it is very streaky, on account that the pigment is quite clumpy. This is after using several thin layers. I have painted in both acrylic and oil so I'm pretty familiar with technique. However, my question is, how do you get a smooth even coat with this product like you did on your canvas. It's much more dfficult than when using other products.
I was really excited about this pigment and BOY was it SUPER SUPER BRIGHT. . .like intense radioactive bright. . . . .but less than a minute later and its a dull almost unnoticeable glow. Am I doing something wrong? Does it need a full day of intense sunlight to stay charged over night?
sooooo clear uv gel nail polish is resin based and needs to be cured with a uv light and i cant find a straight answer so ive come to the source lol can i mix it directly with clear resin or in this case my uv gel polish and use it that way?
How well does this work when mixed with paint already containing pigment? Such as if I wanted to paint something a certain colour for viewing in ambient light, but also have it glow in the dark. Is this possible? If so what's the best technique?
I've built an Entertainment Center, and have painted the inside Satin White. Gonna paint the inside again with this, it should be awesome because the heat from the difference appliances should help make things Glow.
Hi there, just wondering if this stuff is safe to use on model kits, I want to paint some ghost/banshee models and some necrons soon and this stuff's glowing properties would look amazing on them, but I recall reading somewhere that some glowing paints aren't safe to use on certain plastics or are not suited for putting over some types of paints
Hey. I just started to paint some Goblins with LIT. I'm at the first layer and it seems that I need two-four layers. I think it will overlay some details and there are also some pigments (like sand)
Update (yeah i tested it quick) i only have pink & blue and in my experiment the pink overpowered the blue, so the peachy yellow glow is the main glow not a purple-ish
Quick question about this pigment: If I were to shake this pigment straight onto a canvas and wet it down with clear coat spray paint or some sort of varnish, would it bind to the canvas, or would I need a binder still?
It might work you'd have I experiment - I think mixing it with a binder and then varnishing it would be best - you might be able to put down a layer if glue or acrylic medium on the canvas and then sprinkle the powder on a bit like glitter ..

hey inspiring stuff !! I have a question , can we quickly discharge it by any means , something like an erase effect ?
I love your glow paint. I'm gonna try it sometime hopefully
Yea, more. Could I use with epoxy resin?
you can, i did some inlays with it.
take care when drilling it or so. the powder is very abrasive on tools.
Imagine your floor is coated in Lit. You wake up in the middle of the night to see glowing footprints leading to your bed
Can this be used as a dye for burlap fabric? I'm making an Oogie Boogie costume and want it to naturally glow in the dark
what if i coat black 3.0 with that would it glow in the dark and stay black in day time ?
my doubt too! did you already test it? 😅
@@MrMunizguilherme yes i did test it on piece of spare wood / 3 coats of blackest black + LIT and 2 coats of crystal clear sealer / turns out its not as black as it used to be but it stays black mid day and glow in the dark .
owww @@ELWISoooYAKUZA94 ! thank you a lot for your feedback! it is realy nice to know!!! I wanna proceed some MOD in my watch dial, turning the original white dial marks into black, but keeping the glow in the dark aspect after paint it black. Btw did you used the "Super Base" binder to mix the LIT, or used any other binder brand? Thank you in advance 😎.
@@MrMunizguilherme there is a reason why he didnt show in video how it glows in the dark when lights are out / think about that lol
Hit it with a blacklight and it'll glow super bright for that long.
sooooo clear uv gel nail polish is resin based and needs to be cured with a uv light and i cant find a straight answer so ive come to the source lol can i mix it directly with clear resin or in this case my uv gel polish and use it that way?
How well does this work when mixed with paint already containing pigment? Such as if I wanted to paint something a certain colour for viewing in ambient light, but also have it glow in the dark. Is this possible? If so what's the best technique?
I've built an Entertainment Center, and have painted the inside Satin White. Gonna paint the inside again with this, it should be awesome because the heat from the difference appliances should help make things Glow.
How much heat can it take? Would be really cool on my hotrod build to paint my engine if it can take the heat
What happens if you mix blue lit with green standard lit 🤔
Hi there, just wondering if this stuff is safe to use on model kits, I want to paint some ghost/banshee models and some necrons soon and this stuff's glowing properties would look amazing on them, but I recall reading somewhere that some glowing paints aren't safe to use on certain plastics or are not suited for putting over some types of paints
Should work fine. It'll be good!
Hey. I just started to paint some Goblins with LIT. I'm at the first layer and it seems that I need two-four layers. I think it will overlay some details and there are also some pigments (like sand)
Is this strontium aluminate with Europium and Dysprosium?
Can I mix it straight into white oil paint? Thanks
wow this is the most natural room lighting I've ever seen...
Can you thin this with another medium like Liquitex to make it pourable?
Can you mix this with pink lit powder or blue lit powder to change what color the final mix will glow?
this is something I've wondered myself too, honestly kinda tempted to make something with pink and blue lit mixed into resin as a test subject...
Update (yeah i tested it quick)
i only have pink & blue and in my experiment the pink overpowered the blue, so the peachy yellow glow is the main glow not a purple-ish
Love it! The squraking spoon and tecup mixing is making my cheeks pinch diamonds, but i love it!
🤣😂🤣
What binder to dye fabric?
Would Lit work as a pigment in casting resin at all?
Can I use this over a wall mural?
Is Lit a fine enough grain that it can be thinned out and airbrushed?
Forgot to ask.
Any idea what the particle size of the grains are?
Are they 10um or more like 25um?
super excited about this! How about mixing it with a clear 2 part epoxy?
it looks amazing in a clear epoxy - works brilliantly!!!!
Can I add it to a clear base and have it dry semi transparent?
Quick question about this pigment: If I were to shake this pigment straight onto a canvas and wet it down with clear coat spray paint or some sort of varnish, would it bind to the canvas, or would I need a binder still?
It might work you'd have I experiment - I think mixing it with a binder and then varnishing it would be best - you might be able to put down a layer if glue or acrylic medium on the canvas and then sprinkle the powder on a bit like glitter ..
Stuart Semple thanks for the response, and I like that idea! I’ll make sure to put my results on the #sharetheblack thread!
My pleasure! If you coild share your results that would be amazing - super useful for other artists experimenting :) thank you! Have fun with it :)
