As a person that has MS Annette Funicello was my role model.Because she lived with Multiple Sclerosis until she was in her 70's and to me that gave me hope that i can keep on fighting and never give up
She was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside... I couldn't escape this video without a tear rolling down my cheek.... R.I.P. Annette... You were great in every way that counts!
It has been ten years since we lost our beloved Annette Funicello and I still think about her every day and I haven't been the same and I have no reason for not to cry and sometimes I want to cry because I don't want to and she will be remembered by her colleagues and her family and fans who grew up with her since the beginning of her career
What a beautiful lady! I'm not sure how im just now hearing about her, but im binge watching anything about Annette and i can honestly say.. I have such a huge amount of love and respect for both her and her husband! I truly hope she knew how much love and admiration her fans had for her then and still do today. It breaks my heart knowing the horrific amount of suffering that herself and so many others go through with MS, cancer and all these other evil diseases and i pray that i live long enough to finally see a cure developed, and finally an end put to the millions suffering from these evils! My daddy and grandparents won't benefit as they have already passed away, but at least i know that when that day comes, no other child, wife, husband, parent etc.. Will have to sit helplessly and watch their loved ones suffer and deteriorate to nothing! Sorry i get extremely emotional.. But God Bless Mrs. Annette Funicello, her amazing husband and anyone else lost or suffering! Their all dancing painlessly in heaven now.
I discovered Annette when I was 10 years old. This was back in the mid 70's and cable tv had just become a thing. The Mickey Mouse Club reruns were airing creating a whole new fan base some 20 to 25 years later after the original airing. They also began re-airing all the beach movies she was in as well. I was taken back by her clean cut wholesome sex appeal. She was the perfect image for a kid my age to admire. It breaks my heart that she struggled with this disease so painful to watch , but Im so glad she had great support and love not only from her husband but from all over the world. We loved you Annette and still do. :)
I can see why. Annette was such a lovely lady, and she really struggled hard with her failing health. She had dreamed of dancing again one day, but it never came true.
... I have a friend who suffers from MS... every time I drop by to see him... it appears that a little more of his sunshine has gone.. It is a sad thing to witness....
She is so BEAUTIFUL, may we never forget her PREIOUS SOUL!!! See you soon Ms. Annette, you are in heaven singing and dancing just as beautiful as you are!
Its a terrible sin that such a lovely person had to be stricken with such a horrific disease. You have to give her an tremendous amount of credit for handling the situation so bravely and openly and without bitterness. Im am very familiar with situations of this kind. My mom was stricken with viral encephalitis of the worst kind at the age of 56. She was left with some brain damage. My grandfather who at 84 was in perfect health, suddenly was stricken with ALS, (Lou Gehrigs Disease).he passed away in one year after diagnosis. I totally understand what Annette had to endure and her family as well. RIP Annette and your very supportive husband Glen.
Two of my parents friends, both women, has MS. It was very scary to me as a child. So glad people like this lady made public this condition. It has helped so many. And her husband is just the best.
It's a horrible disease that can rob you of your dignity. I have a cousin who suffers from it. I am so sorry for all those who have to deal with it on a daily basis. RIP pretty lady.
Annette will be remembered for her roles in tv shows and movies and I almost cried when she passed away at 70 years old since 2013 and she will be missed by all of us who loved her forever and ever since she young and popular with her inner beauty and grace
I grew up watching Annette from Micky Mouse Club and her Beach Party movies. So ashamed that they don’t make “G” movies like that anymore for kids this day and time to watch. Such a beautiful lady with class. RIP.
Wow. I know who Ms. Funicello is, though she was b4 my time…and have read about her and seen some of the films she made, the beach films…and I think she was, in fact, playing herself. Kind, sweet, humble. Was very hard, at the end of this clip, to see her thanking her friends and fans (interchangeable, I believe, for her….friends and fans) when it should be the friend and fans, thanking her. I hope they had the chance to. Yes, much of what she did was fluffy by today's standards but perhaps we need more fluff and less hard core themes as we have, today. As an Italian American, she also make me proud in that she didn't change her name, despite requests by Mr. Disney, as most others did. She was and remains a very positive role model for so many from people like me to those coping and living with MS (any illness, really). One of those people who will not be forgotten, even if her work is not seen anymore, her name is remembered for so many reasons and I truly hope she is at peace, wherever that might be.
Linda Jakub ,What a terrible thing to say about such a person who suffered for 20 yrs straight .Do you not believe in God who died and suffered on the cross for all us sinners. Believe me if you don't think God let Annette in the Kingdoms of Heaven that sick brave lady . Then theirs no way you will be in his Kingdom. I think you need to ask God for forgiveness and Repent for your sins so you're not damned to Hell for your terrible words on a sick woman that was put on this earth maybe to give people with Ms hope ,So just maybe God used her as a tool. And if you don't believe in God then theirs no help for you at all !you'll be going straight to Hell !
Annette was so beautiful and she was AMERICA'S SWEETHEART, to bad that she had to suffer from that horrible MS rest in peace beautiful Annette you and Glen are together again
I watched the Mickey Mouse Club as often as I could....rushing home from school...many times I tried copying her hairstyle. It is now a classic style to me...ageless!!! Like my memory of her. And someday when its my turn to leave this place and enter into Eternity---she will be there, completely whole!! Wow---that is an amazing thought!!!
Wow she had a wonderful husband ,oh I felt so bad for her, she was a person full of sport and took what came along for her with this MS SHE WAS A BEAUTIFUL GIRL WHEN SHE LET HER HAIR GROW I ALWAYS THOUGHT WISH I HAD HAIR LIKE THAT. SO POISED SO BRAVE WE MISS YOU.
They do horrible experiences on dogs for MS. The dogs are given this disease and die from it in the end the dogs cannot even eat food. This is a terrible disease.it is so sad.I remember Annette in the younger years. She was soooo beautiful.
IIRC ET that day didn't bother show footage of the Annette Funicello appearance as a contestant on the APril 8, 2013 episode of Celebrity Bucket Kickers.
I don't know a baby boomer who didn't watch Mickey Mouse Club. 😊 Of course, then there was Annette, who was so popular. I never realized, though, how petite she was. And what a kind person she always was. ❤
Entertainment Tonight was the sole venue for stars to respectfully release news, they themselves wanted to be released. Pre-dating internet May and Annette were friends and both tops in their field. Annette whom I was friends with 35 years did not want the tabloids to start saying she was drunk, etc. as per Hart. As per Annette. Shelley Fabares knew it first, as they were lifelong friends.
Man it broke my heart when she was speaking. What an inspiring person.
As a person that has MS Annette Funicello was my role model.Because she lived with Multiple Sclerosis until she was in her 70's and to me that gave me hope that i can keep on fighting and never give up

Growing up, we girls all wanted to be like Annette. Pretty, poised and kind. Will always remember her with love.
Thanks for a lifetime of song and memories sweet Annette, we will never forget you

Looking at this is so sad she was a great actress. For her to go through this disease is just terrible RIP Annette.

From the bottom of my heart I want to thank you very much for making us laugh and happy back in the mid to late 50's.
Walt Disney give you plenty of safe advice that would last you a life time.
Thanks for always sharing your lovely smile with everybody.

What year was this interview??
IIRC ET that day didn't bother show footage of the Annette Funicello appearance as a contestant on the APril 8, 2013 episode of Celebrity Bucket Kickers.
She was American's Sweet heart!!!

She sounded terrible in that interview although she was really blessed by many people.
I watched the micky mouse club while I ate my Skippy peanut butter sandwich
What a lady
Shes shaking
DIDO..
Too bad that Annette had to bothered by an ambulance-chasing slimeball "journalist" like Mary Hart.
