So nice to see this. Just wish I could see more of Betty Taylor. I grew up near Disney World & saw her perform a couple times before they retired the show in '86. The Golden Horseshoe Revue performed on this stage but not this set. It also had only 4 saloon dancers & no Annette. Thank goodness Disney Corp. honored Betty as a LEGEND for them after she put in over 30 yrs & 45,000 performances as Slue-Foot Sue.
If this video program is trying to convert the demure Annette Funicello from ingenue to femme-fatale, they are sadly mistaken. Annette from the inception of her career was always as pure as the wind-driven snow. She does the song straight at her first attempt, but when the salon owners are not pleased, she makes a second attempt by giving the same number the required zing, replete with dance moves and high-kicks and wins total applause. No matter what Annette did in movies and on TV, her Miss Goody Two-Shoes image never ever abandoned her. We loved Annette for these qualities and still do. All those were grew up in the 1960's will always have fond memories of Annette and Frankie Avalon and those cute beach movies.
