I always thought it would be funny if they just kept adding a new name to each game, but never dropped the previous ones: - Dark Forces - Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight - Dark Forces 3: Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast - Dark Forces 4: Jedi Knight 3: Jedi Outcast 2: Jedi Academy
Technically speaking, there is one more game that should be added to that list: Mysteries of the Sith. It came I think one year after Dark Forces II did. So if that were the case, it would be: Dark Forces 3: Jedi Knight 2: Mysteries of the Sith Dark Forces 4: Jedi Knight 3: Jedi Outcast Dark Forces 5: Jedi Knight 4: Jedi Academy However, I think the reason why Mysteries of the Sith and Jedi Academy didn't put any number after the "Jedi Knight" portion of the title is because Kyle Katarn wasn't the central character in either of those games; he was demoted to NPC status in both. Jedi Outcast is still, hands down, the best SW game ever made. The story is simply incredible. I wish it could be remastered, but we know none of these ever will be.
Completely agreed. Fantastic story, fantastic characters, fantastic setting, fantastic combat. Just a little bit of polish and this would be a great game in the EA arsenal. But there's nowhere to peg microtransactions, so they won't!
Tbf, Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy both run on the very user-friendly id Tech 3 engine, which has aged extraordinarily well, so a full remaster wouldn't be as needed for those games. They still run and optimize perfectly fine, and are very mod-friendly as well!
Jedi Knight blew my mind with how complex it was back in the day, not necessarily the graphics which were honestly well behind Quake 2, but the gameplay mechanics like the complex objectives, force powers, items and interactive elements. It was already doing things Half-Life would be praised for a year later. Also Mara Jade is playable in Masters of the Teras Kasi but it's okay if you want to forget that game existed. We all do.

I've played and enjoyed all of these. Truly a great series. I'd consider Jedi Fallen Order to be the closest we'll get to a successor, and it's a fine addition to the Legends family.
@@MattyStoked "Fallen Order" felt like an obstacle course to me. The developers keep tight control over what challenges you have to solve in which manner. Why can't there be more "immersive sim" games like the Thief or Dishonored series?
@@swdev245 that's because the creators of the game are the creators of the Tomb Raider reboot. Respawn was thinking more Tomb Raiderish, than they were Star Wars. Tomb Raider is supposed to be puzzle/obstacle course.
I remember watching my dad play jedi outcast when I was a kid. He liked to play with the guns, but the first time I saw him pull out the lightsaber and throw it down the hall at some stormtroopers... I instantly wanted to play it. My dad was strict and told me I was too young to play it. I forgot about if for a while until I went to move to collage. My dad gave me a large collection of games he loved playing, but couldn't anymore, and both Jedi Outcast and Jedi Acadamy were in that collection. I played through them both as soon as I could, and I still come back and play them from time to time. I found the previous games later and played through all of them too, but Outcast and Academy will always be special to me.
Something to note is that Mara Jade, Kyle Katarn and Starkiller have been added to the Galaxy of Heroes game, which means that Disney at least hasn’t completely abandoned them.
I still play Academy and Outcast now and again. I still enjoy playing them, and the graphics still look decent to me. Will never get rid of them, both classic titles!
Yess! Thanks for letting me know, that's awesome. I was a latecomer to Jedi Academy. I played it for 15 minutes on my mate's PC back when it came out and then never again until last year. I missed a trick, it's a great game.
It's sad that some people won't play these games just because, " the games are old and dont have pretty modern graphics." one guy complained about Jedi Knight's blocky graphics and It's annoying because to expect an older game to hold up to today's standards is ludicrous. That's why I tend to appreciate gameplay over visuals because visuals will always be the first thing in games that becomes dated.
Absolutely. I've never been graphics over gameplay; I've always enjoyed playing older games. Don't get me wrong, when I saw Doom running on Raff's PC I was blown away by the visuals. But what kept me playing that game was the absolutely PURE gameplay. That game could look like hammered poodoo and I'd still clock up as many hours. You can't do much about the blocky models but there are some wicked patches out there to get 90s games looking sweet on a modern system.
What are you talking about, Jedi Outcast has the most beautiful graphics I've ever seen in a video game, compared to its predecessor. The jump from JK to JK2 is far bigger than any jump in graphics from the modern era.
Ironinquisitor i played it in 2016. my younger 20 years old friend who grew up playing games like gta v looked at the screen and said it doesnt look bad
Great to hear people still appreciate these games. I only just played Dark Forces and Jedi Knight for the first time recently and was impressed at how enjoyable they were. Great video guys, really captured what I love about this series
Thanks dudes. I played Jedi Knight and Jedi Academy for the first time myself in making these videos. Dark Forces I had played before and I played the bejeezus out of JK2 when it launched. Yeah, definitely the best Star Wars game franchise. I like a lot of things about these games, things which I'm just not seeing in more modern titles.
Every once in a while I do a play through of Kotor and Kotor2, but something about that "imperial remnant" era that really immerses people. Books and games
one thing people forget is that when using a lightsaber in jedi knight you couldn't move and block blaster bolts,in outcast they fixed this major problem and every engagement felt like episode 1 when obiwan and quigon go busting down that hallway blocking blaster bolts and cutting down droids!
My most favorite Star Wars game series back in the day. Couldn’t get enough of playing them in my college years. I love Katarn and Jan Ore story. Especially upon seeing Mara Jade.
Jedi Knight was THE Star Wars game of my childhood. I spent so much time playing multiplayer games through the MSN Gaming Zone, playing on both the regular levels and ones that fans created. It was an amazing time.
We've had a few discussions on here about Jedi Knight online. Right back at the beginning of online gaming. I remember playing it at my mate's house on his 28k. Was a struggle to connect and to stay connected but we were bleeding edge man!
I am currently playing Dark Forces 2. It aged well. You have to think more strategically when developing your force powers. Compared to later titles. And graphics don't have to be a problem. It's the gameplay and story that counts
I'll always never understand why Rogue One didn't reintroduce Kyle EDIT: Also the speed run of Jedi Knight is absolutely thrilling since they decided to use force speed as an accelerator instead of time dilation, plus the FMV wasn't terrible! Now a days I really dig the idea of Dark Jedi as a new direction over Sith.
Jedi Fallen Order was great just needed more lightsaber duels and less wall running, that cameo though made my entire year! Good story, good combat, awesome lightsaber customization
How is it that there hasn’t been a game that tops Jedi Knight 2 from gameplay?. story has been done well since.. But gameplay has never been topped. The lightsaber combat is amazing still.. The ability to effect what move you are doing is great.. The stance/style changes as well.. The fun level was off the charts then.. Jedi Knight 2 made you feel like a bad ass.. The multiplayer let you test your skills against other warriors.. The online was so great that users themselves created in game role playing.. Bespin was the top map because of the landing pad.. Players would enter sitting/crouch, lightsaber off and 2 would fight in the ring.. The winner would fight challenger.. Its the only game I’ve ever played were Honor was actually a thing people cared about because of the depth of gameplay.. It’s a shame that Outcast isn’t getting multiplayer with the rerelease.. However Academy is.. And that had even more to it so I understand the desire to focus the multiplayer in 1 place.. If they go the extra mile on that product and add some more maps and some from Outcast and stuff they will be highly highly rewarded.. Hopefully the buzz makes those that can make a new game in the series sit the fuck up and do it. 👌
Geeeee8 Yeah that’s why you probably had people picking you up and throwing you off the map because you weren’t duelling with honour 1 on 1.. You can probably find videos of what I’m talking about with the duelling on bespins landing platform.. Anyone running around with a gun was quickly dispatched with or made to leave the game. Good times.
Geeeee8 Well you’ve got another chance to get it right now the games have been rereleased.. I was 15 when JK2 came out and it’s still one of my most fondest memories with a Star Wars game.. The Saber combat was deep and rewarding.. The player created community around honour and duelling to this day is unmatched.. Only game I’ve ever played that had players actually care about that stuff..
"In a galaxy far far away..." back in the days when games were games, better than any triple A games these days, back in the days when games had good consistent stories.
If Respawn would drop just a hint at Morgan Katarn and Kyle in whatever Star Wars game they are doing next I would be so happy that these heroes of my childhood are not forgotten and will live on in Star Wars lore.
Those two games along with X-Wing vs TIE Fighter and X-Wing Alliance were my life back in the days of the MSN Gaming Zone. I'd play them every day after school.

The game definitely blew me away back then and so did Shadows of the Empire which I appreciated because you had the Hoth Level in the Snow Speeder and two levels where you piloted the Outrider. I think I like DF2 better but wish I could have the features of those 2 games in one plus Shadows had some cool weapon although unfortunate it was the same blaster just different ammo where DF2 you had different weapons..
Hey just let everyone know Jedi outcast got dropped on the Nintendo Switch E-shop and Jedi Academy will be brought to the E-shop in the next couple of months.
Perhaps you know at this point but in case you don't, I have two amendments to your information. 1) Mara Jade was playable in Star Wars: Masters of Teräs Käsi 2) Korriban was featured in KotOR 1 just before Jedi Academy Thank you for sharing your extensive knowledge of the Star Wars universe! I was blown away when you talked about how Dark Forces had its own 3D engine!!!
Thank you so much for the sub! More Kyle Katarn content stuff coming soon but I have some other Star Wars stuff coming first, and other videos about weird old PC games :-D
Cool vid. Loved hearing about the engines and reasoning for design choices. Just a heads up Korriban first appeared in KotoR. Both came out in 2003 but KotoR was first to market on the Xbox
Great video! Fun fact: we made Jedi Academy in 14 months, but we made Jedi a Outcast in only 10! That was because we spent 2.5 years making Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force and so we were able to jumpstart Jedi Outcast by taking Elite Force, adding the 3rd person player animation system from Heretic II and making a demo for LucasArts in 3 weeks. Originally, they wanted us to do a FPS only game (Dark Forces III), but we wanted to do Jedi Knight 2. After showing them our demo with lightsaber combat and force powers, they agreed to make it a Jedi Knight game.
I could be wrong but I do believe the first appearance of Korriban in-game was with Knights of the Old Republic which came out two months earlier. Fantastic video!
I loved jedi knights dark forces 2, I can’t tell you how many hours I spent playing it online on a website called the zone lol. Fantastic video, these games were amazing!
Just a quick trivia note, Jedi Academy was not the first game to feature Korriban. It released in september 2003, while KOTOR also featured Korriban and released in July of the same year. Great video!
Really absolutely loved Academy. Just the fact you were zipping around doing little mini-adventures, trying to keep the peace and expanding your powers along the way.
Yeah the episodic format really worked for this game. And the fact that you could choose to do all the missions, or just the bare minimum was a really nice touch.
I don't mind admitting I was underwhelmed by Jedi Knight. Dark Forces has blocky, charming pixels; Jedi Knight 2 still looks good today. Jedi Knight falls unfortunately into a gap between the two despite the story being _okay_. MotS though, wow. Completely made up for the small amount of negativity I felt toward JK. The two games together are a brilliant duology.
"A more elegant weapon for a more civilized time" it's the first time i hear someone say that and it's beautiful. I'm still wondering how did that clone get that lightsaber and who's is it.

I love the dark forces jedi knight saga. I replay them once a year and i always have a blast. Im amazed that dark forces 1 still plays like a dream today
Jedi Outcast had the perfect story and Academy had the perfect multiplayer. I played on PC and found great skins for a Yuuzhan Vong, Dash Rendar, and a killer Obi-Wan. The levels that people made for online play were *beautiful* and so much fun too.
You could actually dual wield lightsabers or get the saber staff in KOTOR as well. And it was released two months before Jedi Academy. It also took players to Korriban, so KOTOR would be the first video game appearance of Korriban, not Jedi Academy.
I still have these games in my PC and consider completely true what you say. In my humble opinion, their stories are far better than the sequels developed today. It would be much more interesting if Kyle Katarn , Mara Jade, and the stories from games like Star Wars Battlegrounds (particularly the campaigns featuring Solo and Chewie rescuing slaved wookies) were the official "Canon", and the sequels' stories became the Legends. Not to mention, of course, the great Kotor series.
Serious question please answer: how was the in house engine for DF2: JK called the "Sith" engine in1997 when the Phantom Menace didn't introduce the word Sith until 1999. Can you elaborate?
Nah mate the word Sith goes way back. Alan Dean Foster used it in the Star Wars novelisation and the word is used in the Dark Empire comics by Tom Veitch. Apparently it's even in some of the cut footage from the first film. I'll admit, the word was some pretty hench geek knowledge in the 90s.
Thanks for shedding more light on Kyle. He was always a fan favorite, but with the new canon in full swing, there's lot of people who are new to the franchise and who never knew about him. I do hope we get to see him again someday! I don't care if it has to be in a story branded non-canon or Legends, it's all fictional anyway. I just wanna see OUR BOY
"Now that I've mentioned it, someone will reinstall it." Damn, you stalking me now?? (seriously loved this series of games - thx for helping it get some more love)
@@MattyStoked - a man of tastes. I have the entire series on DVD, and bought it on Steam and GoG. (maybe that last one, i just recently joined it) The only VG series I loved more is the Thief trilogy. I also did always love the Kyle Katarn memes.
6:10 I kinda disagree there, I think Jedi Knight had more realistic lightsaber combat. In JK, you actually had to point the lightsaber in the right direction to deflect blaster fire or block a lightsaber attack yourself. What could be more immersive than that? The game mechanics were actually really challenging too. It's not like you just hold it in the general direction and it does the work for you. No, you have to be pretty skilled to use a lightsaber and not die, which makes you actually feel like a jedi. You also had to dodge a lot too. If you tried blocking only, you'd eventually die. You have to jump, dodge, and block to stay alive, and you have to actually get a hit in on the opponent to damage him. The only downside though is that if you just run in circles, you can easily land hits in on the enemy sith without taking damage, whereas fighting normally lands up getting you damaged, so in that way it could have been improved.
You said it yourself, you just circle around folks, battering them. I beat Sariss by punching her, because I didn't realise you could pick up [spoiler]'s lightsaber. That's not because I'm super skilled, I just persevered and essentially cheated. In JK you click to swing once, right click to wildly wave it about. You have to hit people multiple times and there's no sense of gravity to the hits you land. In JK2 you can combo with the blade, you use the mouse to control the direction of your swings and hits register really nicely.
The Game Show I think I was more into Jedi Knight at the time of posting. After being used to Jedi Outcast and then going back to Jedi Knight, the controls and lightsaber combat do feel somewhat inferior. However I think it’s important to remember that at the time of JK, all we had was the OT to base lightsaber combat off of, plus obviously the less advanced game engine. So it might look like just a regular swing now, but that’s all lightsaber combat was like before the prequels introduced all the different lightsaber forms used by the old Jedi order. Also, another thing I’d like to point out. Jedi Knight’s lightsaber combat was much more fun to use and better to play with in first person (except for dark Jedi fights), whereas in Outcast third person is far superior. While Outcast offers the option to play in first person, the lightsaber combat is a bit unweildy so you’ll basically never land up using it, which is a shame. I find first person to be generally more immersive, makes me feel like I actually am this badass Jedi, not that I’m controlling someone else who is a badass Jedi.
Sipping my Corellian Ale with this awesome video Kyle was a saber wielder then he went to Jedi Valley or something like that turned into jedi he was force sensitive that game was awesome
I bought Jedi Academy like a month ago but idk if i should play it or buy the previous Jedi Knight games and complete them before starting with Jedi Academy.
Nah I would say start with Academy. You don't need any context from the earlier games. Play them if you like Academy and want to explore the setting some more :)

It is sad that Rogue One didn't include Dark Forces references, but at least Rebels carries the spirit of the games on. Kanan is a blending of Rahm Kota from Force Unleashed and Kyle Katarn. Hera not only is voiced by Jan Ors' Jedi Outcast voice actress but she also wears Jan's flight suit and has a similar relationship with Kanan that Jan did with Kyle. Ezra wears one of the options that a male Jaden Korr could have in Jedi Academy, fitting as Jaden was Kyle's apprentice and Ezra was Kanan's. In one of the comics the Ghost crew even temporarily flies a HWK-290, the same model of ship that Kyle and Jan's Moldy Crow was. Where Rogue One dropped the ball on Dark Forces references, Rebels made it a point to honor that legacy.

They did this because the EU is considered non-canon and Disney replaced the story isntead about a story that focuses on teh harsh realities of war, also dont you think it would be a bit boring to have another force-sensitive lightsabre-weilding protagnist to make movies about?
Kyle Katarn is *_THE_* best SW character imo, I wish I could play him in Academy and I wish we'd got more games
I think that depends on how many characters people actually know in the expanded universe. I for instance has quite a few, such as Jaina Solo Fel.
@@wedgeantilles4712 there is always going to be gaps in my knowledge, and that's why I said IMO
goddamn it Disney give us another jedi knight game you knobheads

No thank you not if Disney makes them
Fallen Order is close.
I want 1313
Yeah this is the true sequel to the movies in my mind
for me its the thrawn trilogy
Dark Forces II is my childhood. I miss this series so much.
I've covered them all now. Easily the best series of Star Wars games ever. Feel free to check out our other videos.
SAME
Same. My childhood too!
i played it on my 233 mhz pentium back in i dont know 1998? i think you have to remember where you came from and preserve things that shaped you
The sequel trilogy needed more Kyle Katarn, Mara Jade, and Dash Rendar too.
Absolutely more Dash Rendar!
And Jaxxon! The Star-hopper ;-)
You mean a protagonist on god mode and the old cast to die ?
Say no more fam say no more
also dont forget jan ors, when I got the darkside ending in jk1, i literally restarted. I cant believe how much better of a character she is than any of the sequel characters
Correct but X-wing alliance is up with it imo
We all do.
8:28 - _Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic_ allowed the player to visit Korriban and was released several months prior to _Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy._ Also, _Knights of the Old Republic_ allowed the player to dual-wield sabers as well as use the saberstaff before _Jedi Academy_ did.
For clarity, here in Europe KOTOR was released the same week as Jedi Academy, not several months as it was in North America.
Different games though, but both sagas were incredible among the massive amount of Star Wars games. I love both KOTOR and Jedi Knights
srsly man? kotor's lightsaber combat practically non-existing especially compared to jedi knight series..
@@MrBurakOzel I never said there was any substance to the combat. Just that it existed.

but Mara Jade was also a playable character in Masters of Teras Kasi on ps1
Maybe he meant it was the only game that was worth playing that she was in.
She was also playable n the Wii version of the force unleashed as a multiplayer character.

He's my favourite! :-D
Mara Jade was also unlockable and playable in Star Wars: Masters of Teras Kasi. She borrowed from Luke and Darth Vader's movesets, as I recall.
You could also be her in star wars empire at war if you play the ground skirmish mode as the empire
that's actually some neat story telling
Dark Forces, Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2, Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast, Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy...The titles of these games is enough to make AVGN chronologically confused.
And the final installment always remained ambiguous when it came to its name. Some people called it JK:JA, some JKA, while others called it JK3.
I've always joked that the final game should technically be called Dark Forces 4, Jedi Knight 3, Jedi Outcast 2, Jedi Academy.
Watching footage of Jedi Outcast, I felt like it was a video of my own life. That game was so immersive and compelling, I felt like it was real.
This video was damn good, I will definitely have to pick some of these up.
Thank you mate - now you're helping me out :-D If you like an old-school game I really recommend Dark Forces. Jedi Knight 2 is legitimately still one of the best PC games I've ever played.
The Game Show: I'll definitely check it out, I reckon GoG will have it... or I'll track down a good old boxed copy.
GOG definitely has all of them. Boxed copies always go cheap, too.
The Game Show: Will definitely pick them up, I would love to benchmark some older stuff.
10,000fps 🔥🔥🔥
I've played and enjoyed all of these. Truly a great series.
I'd consider Jedi Fallen Order to be the closest we'll get to a successor, and it's a fine addition to the Legends family.
'Jedi Knight' was what I was expecting out of Jedi fallen order. A game where u can use both guns and lightsabers
I haven't played it yet, I can't wait to give it a go!
@@MattyStoked "Fallen Order" felt like an obstacle course to me. The developers keep tight control over what challenges you have to solve in which manner. Why can't there be more "immersive sim" games like the Thief or Dishonored series?
@@swdev245 i liked it, it felt like a Metroidvania-type game and i love those sorts of games
I’m finally playing Jedi Academy and I love it.
Yess! Thanks for letting me know, that's awesome. I was a latecomer to Jedi Academy. I played it for 15 minutes on my mate's PC back when it came out and then never again until last year. I missed a trick, it's a great game.
It’s actually a challenge for once
Jedi outcast and Jedi Academy have actually age very well.
Its better to play old masterpiece than modern garbage, when every game is a clone and dont have soul
Yeah, I reinstalled Jedi Outcast and Academy shortly after watching the Last Jedi. No other Star Wars games could satisfy the Star Wars hunger :)

Mine too! I'm glad you're on board :-)
Jedi Knight II is my favourite, but love Dark Forces and well, all of them really.
Definitely agree!
I am currently playing Dark Forces 2. It aged well. You have to think more strategically when developing your force powers. Compared to later titles. And graphics don't have to be a problem. It's the gameplay and story that counts
I'll always never understand why Rogue One didn't reintroduce Kyle
EDIT: Also the speed run of Jedi Knight is absolutely thrilling since they decided to use force speed as an accelerator instead of time dilation, plus the FMV wasn't terrible! Now a days I really dig the idea of Dark Jedi as a new direction over Sith.
Jedi Fallen Order was great just needed more lightsaber duels and less wall running, that cameo though made my entire year! Good story, good combat, awesome lightsaber customization
Hey brune
It's being rereleased?
I never picked up on that when I was a kid. Was probably the worst person on the servers
Good times.
I remember getting kicked for laming. Though yea I didn't really know what I was doing
Exactly, today "games" are usually just products... they must be easy and dumb to be sold to most people... no love in them.
Incredible coverage for these games. Subscribed! It brought be back to my childhood and now I’m looking to start playing Jedi Knight again.
Thanks so much mate. I'm glad you liked it, I loved making it. I booted up Jedi Knight again this weekend by coincidence. Really great games.
If Respawn would drop just a hint at Morgan Katarn and Kyle in whatever Star Wars game they are doing next I would be so happy that these heroes of my childhood are not forgotten and will live on in Star Wars lore.
The New Trilogy that we needed...

This needs more recognition.
Dark forces 2 and mysteries of the sith give me so much nostalgia
Those two games along with X-Wing vs TIE Fighter and X-Wing Alliance were my life back in the days of the MSN Gaming Zone. I'd play them every day after school.

Dark Forces 2 was my first Star Wars game. I remember sinking hours into that game at my dads place.
Dark Forces was my first FPS.
I’ll never forget how blown away I was.
Jedi Knight and Jedi Academy had the best lightsaber combat, KOTR 1, and 2 had the best story line. Like if you agree!
All 5 are all available together on steam for $20-25. Definitely recommend getting them!
Twenty quid for a whole series of games is a steal. Still the best series of Star Wars games. Well worth it!
Perhaps you know at this point but in case you don't, I have two amendments to your information.
1) Mara Jade was playable in Star Wars: Masters of Teräs Käsi
2) Korriban was featured in KotOR 1 just before Jedi Academy
Thank you for sharing your extensive knowledge of the Star Wars universe! I was blown away when you talked about how Dark Forces had its own 3D engine!!!
This entire video was a nostalgic journey through my early years of realising I loved Star Wars EU just as much as the original trilogy films.
Just finished Jedi academy. Thank you for the recommendation
That's awesome mate, you're welcome! Did you enjoy the game? What ending did you get?

The first Korriban video game appearance was in kotor, though only by a few months.
Mike, if this is a genuine account I'm honoured you would reach out. This is incredible insight, I'd love to talk to you more about this.

I could be wrong but I do believe the first appearance of Korriban in-game was with Knights of the Old Republic which came out two months earlier.
Fantastic video!
If you want to be really technical the first mention of Korriban in an interactive medium is the Behind the Magic CD-ROM.
I loved jedi knights dark forces 2, I can’t tell you how many hours I spent playing it online on a website called the zone lol. Fantastic video, these games were amazing!
I played dark forces and red faction back in the day, and nowadays my first play through of Jedi outcast is making me so nostalgic.
The first Red Faction was brilliant. I'm go glad you got a kick out of this video but I'm much happier that you're enjoying Jedi Outcast!
Aw man good times. You're right though, Mysteries of The Sith still sticks with me to this day.

In case you can still reply, should I really buy all of them? I was thinking just Outcast and Academy. Also can I still play multiplayer on Academy?
Yes to all! Outcast and Academy are the most modern, but the early games are still absolutely great.
Jedi Outcast had the perfect story and Academy had the perfect multiplayer.
I played on PC and found great skins for a Yuuzhan Vong, Dash Rendar, and a killer Obi-Wan.
The levels that people made for online play were *beautiful* and so much fun too.
Legend has it that the voice actor from the 2 2000's era games did voice acting as the main charicter in overkill 3.
Damn bro, you a star wars G.

Good work on the Star Wars content. 'tis the season!
You got it man. Get ready for week after bloody week of spaceships and laser guns!
The combat in the mod Movie Battles 2 is by far the best lightsaber combat in a star wars game.

I need to bring that back Star Wars Jedi Knight Kyle katarn.
I loved those games, favorite being Outcast and Academy, and it still burns my soul today to think they didnt use this as the basis for Rogue One. even though there were characters in it, just like Kyle and Jan
I think, the Jedi Knight games are the best star wars Game series ever. Just how Kyle katarn his way from a regular mercenary to a Jedi Master is just absolutly Fantastic
