What I love so much about Kyle is that his personality is the antithesis of a Jedi, yet he becomes one of the greatest Jedi despite this. It's another example of why Luke's Jedi Order was superior.

and makes no sense because Luke never even at least tried to follow the path Ben & Yoda set forth for him he just randomly made up new rules, him trying and learning from failure himself the same way the ones before him failed and THEN passing new teachings to Rey makes way more sense

    • @maxdam4059

No the issue regarding Luke’s order in canon is way more dumb he literally did not learn anything , but in EU Luke before and after dark empire learned about how the Jedi fell , what made his father become darth vader , order 66 he also became a dark side user one point to learn how it works and went back to the light he also realized that those restrictions that Jedi made were the main reason why they fell and this is when he decided to make the new Jedi order with less restrictions that would cause many Jedi knights to fall to the dark side even the old republic approved it was the right thing to do , whatever Disney did was just horrible job do you want me to believe that by Luke simply having bad visions about his nephew he decided to kill him just like that ?Are you serious ?! Well a similar situation happened with Jacen Solo but still Luke never tried to kill him he tried to redeem him and thought that his sith master was the main reason until he realized that he took this path after it was revealed it was him who killed Mara Jada and tortured his son , event the main reason why Jacen took this path was due to Abeloth , the yuzaan vong invasion and his good intentions to save the galaxy and his secret daughter , as for Kylo his uncle tried to kill him that’s it even his actor thinks it was a bad idea

@@maxdam4059 Yeah Luke was always meant to be the first of the new Jedi not the last of the old the way he rebuilt the new Jedi order in the eu felt like a natural step for them. It weird that Disney canon that Luke didn’t try to trained students around his age both old and young in the way of the Jedi considering the war ended one year early so he has advantage of time and I imagine the new republic fully supports him ask for some volunteers and Jedi survivors to rejoin the order. Honestly Luke big mistake is training Kylo ren at all considering he was written to be a Anakin/Vader 2.0 but way worse.

Kyle Katarn once tried shaving his beard. The results of said attempt are what we call beskar, phrik, and cortosis.
The Death Star was a to-scale replica of one of Kyle Katarn's nuts.
There is no chin behind Kyle Katarn's beard, just another Bryar Pistol.
The account of the Rakata bombing Tatooine turning it to desert is false. The truth is, Kyle was just thirsty one day.

What I liked in particular about the audio dramas was they weren’t just one reader for the whole story like most audio books, but each character had their own voice actor. I could easily picture an actual movie in my head while listening to the voices, which was amazing.

Rouge One was an affront to Star Wars Lore, Andor is like saying oh my bad for making drink urine here wash it down with battery acid. A movie based on Dark Forces could have been the first and probably best Espionage themed Star Wars entry that could have led to even more tie ins later on. I'm not even going to pin this on Disney, Kathleen Kennedy is to blame for tampering with decades worth of Star Wars material that would have been better than anything that's been sh!t out since the prequels lol

14:26 I freaked out at how damn cool it is that the valley of the Jedi ties to the origin of the Rule of Two for the Sith order and how they tied these huge stories together. When I read the Jedi vs Sith comic and saw the bouncers and then finally Darth Bane my stomach dropped out. They tied it all together in an amazing story and I got to go there to defend the valley from this several thousand year old trap which turned into a nexus of power.
Now I don’t quite know how it could have turned into just a force nexus vs a dark side one, my only supposition is that it consumed Jedi as well as Sith in the thought bomb’s explosion. Then the poor neutral bouncers as well.

I always loved Kyle, he was definitely one of my favourite Star Wars characters, like Obi Wan and Han Solo combined and despite being kinda OP due to his video game protagonist status he was usually not too over the top in the same way Starkiller was, also given how wild the EU got he fit in pretty well power scale wise, he was really well written for the most part too.
He's definitely the one part of the EU I miss most, possibly an unpopular opinion, but I'd sooner see Kyle made canon again before Revan not to say I'm not a fan of Revan, I just think Kyle is that little bit better.
