Well this is sad, she's still carping on about this long after Cilla's death.

Such and awful woman still holding a grudge against Cilla, It's about time she gave this up and gave up what she calls singing. Her voice has gone

To the neigh sayers being a bit cruel to Dionne, Bacharach/David wrote those songs for one voice, DIONNE, not Cilla. Of course they shopped the songs around to different markets to get the most out to them, every songwriter does that. Dionne has expressed her reason for not respecting Cilla, (who was also a gifted singer), is that Cilla used Dionne's demonstration records of those songs and sang them VERBATIM trying to sound like Dionne and her recordings. Dionne quipped, "you know I don't mind her recording my songs but she sang them verbatim, if I had coughed somewhere in my recording, Cilla would have coughed there too." All great artists LOVE it when other people cover their standards and bring something entirely new to them, but they don't admire the artist who adds no unique artistry to the songs. It's a fair critique. The truth of the matter is that while I love Cilla she was largely a regional talent while Dionne was an international sensation for 60+ years who was at MLK's side at the podium at "The March on Washington" civil rights march, was a Goodwill Ambassador at The UN, was a Goodwill Ambassador for AIDS being the first major star to put it all on the line to to raise money for AIDS research and change peoples thinking about it, sang at Farm Aid in The US, inspired several legends when they were children to want to sing just like her, by their own admission from Whitney Houston, Luther Vandross, Philip Bailey, to Russell Tompkins, JR lead singer of The Stylistics, was featured in multiple Grammy Awards, Oscar Presentations, for God's sake they chose Dionne to sing The Beatle's "Let It Be" at the 1970 Grammy Awards, did television specials with every star on earth from Sinatra, to Olivia N John, Ann Murray, was produced by The Bee Gees and Barry Manilow, held a key solo in the historic song "We Are the World", had a triple platinum live album with Isaac Hayes, a platinum album with Stevie Wonder and has won 6 Grammys and on and on and on and on. Oh and sold over 100 MILLION records. Most people on earth have never heard of Cilla Black but for a largely UK audience. None of that diminishes Cilla, she was GREAT, SIMPLY GREAT but she was no Dionne Warwick. Dionne is being cocky here but she has the right to be, she does not respect those who are carbon copies, (literally) of her music. NOTE: From Wiki. "Black's second single, released at the beginning of 1964, was a cover of the Burt Bacharach-Hal David composition "Anyone Who Had a Heart", which had been written for Dionne Warwick."

Bacharach wrote those songs and he is on record as saying they are his songs, not Dionne's or even Cilla who sang them so much better. Dionne has not sung in tune for years and should have retired years ago, along with dishing Cilla and how she can still do so after Cilla passing is an insult and just shows how bitter she was and is that Cilla had the biggest hit.

This woman is a blatant liar, she is so full of hate for Cilla Black because Cilla recorded, Anyone who had a heart, and had the biggest selling single of the 60s in the UK. Dionne has always gone on and on about it. Now she claims to be the only one to have a bit with Alfie. Untrue, Cilla made no8 in UK and Chef had a bit I think in US, so Dionne get the facts correct. I prefer Cilla singing both songs, but give Dionne credit she had an incredible singing career, but let those who did share in that success with there music be.

Today Dionne Warwick believes in being true to her elderly ladies voice by not pushing it as it's in very rusty shape today. Let's offer her praise that she can still sing and attract interest at 85! Beautiful effort ❤

Cilla sang the original version because of a contract that wanted a brit singer, but Bacharach never worked again with that ugly voice of Cilla anyway she did better in TV, as a singer ufff only for bad taste Brts,Dionne warwick is an Icon I love her

Forget your biased vitriol for just one moment and research the fact that Burt Bachrach is on record as saying the version he recorded for Cilla is in his mind the definitive one. He personally flew to London to arrange and record the song. He was a good friend to Cilla and would be so upset to think that Dionne is still peddling her lies and bitterness.

Sorry Dionne but Cilla had a Top 10 hit with it in the UK. You didn’t even make the Top 10 of the US Hot 100 with your version.

Awful attitude with the constant rubbishing of Cilla's memory. Cilla is quoted as saying "It was a love hate relationship, I loved Dionne, she hated me!" Cilla had a No.1 in UK with "Anyone Who Had A Heart" and reached No.9 in UK with "Alfie". Regardless of who people prefer, if any, those are the facts and you cannot rewrite history. Perhaps retain some dignity...

I can understand Dionne’s frustration. That was a time when white artist were able to steal from black artist & get away with it more than they’re able to today.
