as an american trucker im not sure I could ever get used to European traffic patterns or the cabover trucks, but damn if that scenery isn't the prettiest I have ever seen. Austria with the high rise highway through the valley was amazing looking.
Same here. Didn't see a conventional Pete or K.W. anywhere! I did see an older K.W. aerodyne conventional in Holland on the freeway. The roundabouts in the U.K threw me a bit, plus driving on the opposite side of the car was weird, then across the channel, they drive like us, but more polite i thought.
Trucker Gundy I am a German trucker, who is driving all over Europe. The most beautiful country I have ever seen is Norway. Wherever you are there is a postcard scenery, no exaggeration. But there are plenty of 1 or 1 1/2 lane roads, even in the mountains. The roads are widened every few hundred meters. One car or truck has to wait for the oncoming traffic for passing. This country has more tunnels than any other one on this planet. The longest road tunnel is the lærdalstunnelen, 24.5 km or 15.2 miles. There are resting lots in this tunnel. A lot of 180 degrees switchbacks are standard in the mountain roads. But Norway is constructing wonderful roads now. In the Pyrenees and Alpes are roads up to 20% steep. Maybe you have seen pictures on TV , Tour de France. The best motorways are in The Netherlands, probably the best on earth. There are a lot of videos about trucking in Europe. Trucks have a maximum overall length, doubles 18.75 meters, semis 16.50. thats why the cabovers in Europe. Maximum weight 40 metric tons, 88,000 lbs, speed limit 80 Km/h ( 50 Mph )

I have about 15 years ago gone round Europe 8 and 1/2 months, not sleeping nowhere as in truck. Totally drived international trafic 20 years. Ended because these old east europeans came and dump the prices.
