Locomotion Museum in Shildon is home to many locos from the National Collection and is a great visit

Locomotion, at Shildon, was previously known as Locomotion the National Railway Museum at Shildon. The museum is home to several locomotives from the National Collection and has a fantastic collection of steam locomotives and railway accessories along with diesel and electric locos, and rolling stock dating back to the earliest days of railways.

Went a few months back; it was really good. The only thing is that so many of these locos felt more at home at York (which was easier to get to). Aerolite’s a sad case as it’s been at York for so long.

I think it's good to 'share' them out. Both museums are a credit and are well worth the visit. Variety is the spice of life.
