Rowan had an actual deep character moment, while still being so insufferable. Great writing and acting everyone
Yes seriously did like honestly it's crazy when like you guys are acting and you do it perfectly but then when you try to like act like you're not acting I don't know how to say but I guess just really impressive it's just natural for you guys to act
Alan too. He both stood his ground and did a ''shitty friend'' a solid.
Totally agree, Rowans acting was on fire here
@@blizzardoffreedom8699🤓🤓🤓
smm...such a beautiful romance 😭
So glad Alan stood up for once, honestly it was getting harder and harder to believe that the crew wouldn't have quit or resorted to violence by this point.
Violence has happened a fair few times 😅
But Adam did try to quit, Rowan just didn't allow it.
"or resorted to violence by this point." They have, multiple times. Adam died once.
It was said in the paytech contract that Alllen has to pick up rowan's keys. Rowan forgot about that.
You must be new here if you don't think they've resorted to violence 🤣
Rowan’s whispering thank you was surprising. I expected him to show no gratitude but he actually was nice about it. I did not expect that at all maybe there’s hope for him yet.
He might have PTSD from the White Shirt incident, that's maybe why he doesn't want to mess with Alan 🤔
He did got a lot from "Santa" last Christmas...
@@raikitsunagi Alan is indeed a White Shirt working there "undercover" so yeah better not fuck with him to much
That was weird indeed. Wonder if vldl try to soften Rowan...
Stockholm syndrome🤣
Rowan's "Thank you" really tied this episode together. I could've seen him resorting to his despicable old self, but the fact that he was being genuine here was actually very nice.
I mean, as his oldest friend, Alan knew how lonely Rowan was, especially when he and Adam found out that Rowan had been sleeping in his car and drinking alone.
I'm so glad to see Rowan finally met someone as sociopathic as himself. True Love xD
Can you imagine, if they have kids. I'm not sure the world is ready for that!
@@Senovitj Just wait until Rowan Jr. drops a pen.
@@Senovitj Probably like his niece, who blackmailed Alan.
Plot Twist Brynley is actually Adam's Wife.
I ended up being the total opposite of my parents, you never know.
Despite the BS Rowan always puts them through, I'm actually proud of Alan. For him to sacrifice his pride to help Rowan find love shows what kind of character he is.
should have been no, and you would have helped the boss dodge a psycho bullet.
@@Rosivok I have a feeling that this will lead to a story arc where Rowan becomes whipped but ends up getting rescued by his co-workers, which ultimately makes them all closer.
@@BiotchProductions Rowan had on e got closer to both Adam and Ellie when they helped him get rid of Alan's white shirt. But he was back to his own self a moment later!! 🤣
@@AbhishekDe13 dammit! You're right! Dammit!!
@@BiotchProductions That's funny because i feeling another white shirt type saga and i'm all for it!
I forgot sometime, that Alan and Rowan share a weird, messed up, awkward perhaps toxic but still profound kind of friendship.
That is refreshing to see that time to time
Like Rick & Morty
It's because Rowan continues to defend Alan against the Karen's. Without Rowan, Alan is vulnerable.
@@magus3553 Nah, it's Adam who has no defense against the Karens, Alan knows to flee, and if that doesn't work, how to use the powers of the white shirt to banish them as a last resort. Alan just remembers a time when Rowan wasn't controlled by the power of the black shirt, back before they had switched shirts and up to about when Adam joined the crew 🤔
Well they were The ones who started it all in the store. They changed who was manager a few times, Went through The Black shirt and white shirt saga together, And Alan the only one who truly understands Rowan. That's friendship lol XD but notice Rowan has never really made true on most his threats including dismissals.
@@magus3553 what??. It was Alan who saved rowan and adam. Go and check the episode man
I love how in the face of pure contempt and disrespect, Alan still decided to be a true bro and wingman for Rowan
Are you a cutie though?
@@FluffySylveonBoi I doubt it
No matter what Alan is still a good friend to Rowan.
Rowan should appreciate it.
yeah... with massive paycut😂
@@shiraffyu 😟
you know hes not gonna though
I think you mean Alan should appreciate the opportunity.
And get back to work.
With a paycut.
Alan is actually worse here, he's being an enabler.
This 4 minute video had more character development than 60 episode shows,
10/10
This is my FAVORITE episode thus far. The drama, the tension, I FELT UNCOMFORTABLE AS THE AUDIENCE and my oh my Alan biting back and taking control is one of my favorite things in VLDL, like that one time in Epic NPC Man where he snapped when the dialogue was skipped.
Amazing job you guys this episode was an absolute masterpiece!
never talk back to me little one🤣
The Waffle House Has Found Its New Host
@@raven4k998 I LOVED THAT ONE SO MUCH AHAHAHAH
Yo! What if Alan was boss for the day!?
It was great I must admit...
It's interesting to realize that Ellie is on an even playing field with the rest of them with Brynley around. Ellie is good at manipulating Rowan, but Brynley is a whole other matter. Also, Alan stepping up against stuff like this is always fun to watch.
Lol , Ellie’s pay is 3 times or more than Adam and Allan’s, she swindled Rowan way back.😂
@@djslip_irie Alan's pay is around 6$ per hour but Ellie's pay is 189.50$ per hour. That is hardly 3 times at all.
To his credit he said “three times or more” 😂
Alan standing up to Rowan and Rowan asking for Alan’s help kind of reminds me of the old days when it was just the two of them - like underneath it all, that friendship is still there
I miss that version of Bored honestly.
Remember when Rowan was nervous about talking about StarCraft and ran away from Alan?
@@kylepinpin3037 you are a girl.
I am genuinely surprised that Rowan muttered thank you under his breath instead of laughing at Alan for falling for a joke lol
lol the subtitles when Brynley is having a breakdown at 3:02 are great
Glad you noticed 😂
Had to go back and watch it a second time with them on. Pure class! Glad you pointed it out.
Oh my word, it was so worth it to go back and watch that again with the subtitles on. Very nice attention to detail there, VLDL!
I think this is the best moment we've had between Rowan and Alan in a long time. And I'm so happy for it. They used to be friends but have become much more like enemies lately. This was nice to see.
Rowan 's strut cracked me up. I cant believe he said Please five times and Thank you twice to Alan in this one episode. Think that's the most Ive ever heard him say those words to Alan ever lmao
Love how they both got worse with the strutting and preening as the episode wore on. At first its just a smile, developing into full on shoulder brushing.
Even more interesting when you notice he didn't say either to Adam
Honestly one of the best episodes yet, and a bizarrely deep moment for Rowan, I was very surprised he said thank you and showed some genuine if guised humility towards Alan.
This skit was highly relatable (even outside of the corporate world) but the slow-mo at the end with the temper tantrum is what did it for me. Sheer perfection! May Rowan find true happiness in their mutual psychosis.
he love how she's freaking out in slow mo🤣
watch that part with subtitles on
I always love when you guys have an episode that nails the comedy but allows for true sentiment to exist without being stifled. Excellent job on this one. Very fun.
True.
That was a piece of art, first Alan with the back biting, then the negotiation with Rowan, and the silent "thank you". I love these vids.
*negotiation
@@LostInPhilly89 thanks, i knew it looked sus x.x
Rowan thanking Alan shows tremendous growth & I'm proud of him! That's shit's dingo! ❤️
That shit's so sploosh.
Not anymore.
It's kinda nice to see Rowan actually found someone as evil as him 🤗 as horrible as that is for everyone else...
*Edit:* I cannot believe no one has mentioned Clause 6.1.4 yet!!! I understand why Rowan didn't use it cause then Alan would just be doing his contractual duty instead of submitting to Rowan's authority. But surely someone else remembered besides me!?
This was so much more nuanced than it had any right to be and I love it. Showing actual character growth in this format is virtually impossible and yet here we are. Also the manager woman was terrifyingly convincing.
Wow, this is almost relatable, I’ve had managers act like actual monsters because they were the ones in charge
Always great to see a new member establish them self, Brynley is doing great and really fits in will with the Board sketches!
You know the situation is unsalvageable when someone in the room says, "Rowan, do something!"
After the Kickstarter did everyones skill level increase. All of these guys are genuinely good actors, ready to see another movie.
The evil stepmother energy of Brynley is soo palpable.
Brynley…that’s such a terrifying, managerial name
Perhaps without even knowing it they portrayed the relationship dynamic between a grandiose narcissist, a vulnerable narcissist, a codependent and the legend that is Alan. So well played!
Great subtitles! Noises of love and affection as Bryn is attacking the shelf. *Chefs kiss*
Thank you guys; there is no single joke around which the sketch is built, but a completely ridiculous situation with many small funny moments. I appreciate the great human dimension here.
There was a time Rowan couldn't even be in the same room as a woman, now he's developed a power fetish
When Rowan was whispering about how important picking up the keys was, I was totally expecting Alan to take advantage and just launch the keys across the room 😂 or even better, pocket them and say “what keys?”
I thought he would say, "What are the keys worth for you?"
I expected Alan to lean to the side and wink at her, completing the transfer of power, lol.
Rowan really channeled Geralt's sense of romance in this one. ❤️
Agreed. This was toxic enough that Yen would have approved.
*"This is a verbal warning... next time its GONNA be a PHYSICAL warning" **3:33* 😂😂😂
Alan could have had a written warning. Picking up Rowan's keys is in his contract.
I am surprised there wasn't pay cuts handed out this episode.
I think pay cuts is only for adam, As for Ellie it would be pay raise, and Allan is contract.
@@krampusklaws2238 Rowan did say (to her) there'll be pay cuts, at the end. I almost missed it
I couldn't stop thinking why doesn't he just pull out the contract!?
Yeah, as there is for pen dropping
I expected Alan's pen to fall down when he bent down. Damaging company property!!
The only one here with real power is Alan for standing up for himself and being the bigger person by helping Rowan. He‘s such a good guy!
that´s why an important NPC in a very famous MMORPG was modeled after him...
Wait, what game is that?
Hold on, are you just talking about about Skycraft? -_-
I wanted a IRL game to do that.
@@Etrius_Fysik yes, sorry for the trap :D
What's even better about this, is that the "Picking Rowan's keys up" is actually a part of Alan's Contract, as we have learned in one of the older episodes.
lmao
Wow, Rowan expressing his thankfulness... even Alan did not know how to process this. 😅
Well I did not expect the Rowan moment, but it made me realize that Rowan deserves a better person.
I'm fact right now I believe that he deserves someone that loves him for who he truly is and pushes him to be a better manager
I never would have expected a video about power-tripping managers to be so bizarre and funny and heartwarming at the same time.
This.
Rowan just wants to be loved, that's why he was so excited to talk to the online help thinking it was a real person wanting a "real connection"
You guys are just top shelf. Consistent quality content year after year. Here's to continued success because you all deserve it.
When rowan said, "i gave him a verbal warning but next time it'll be a physical warning" lol that had me rolling. If only we could do that in real life 😂
Just think of how chaotic it would be if Alan had the white shirt in this video "didn't you hear the super manager"
"DIDN'T YOU HERE?!!?! AM SUPER MANAGER NOW BOI"
@@randomperson5512 "what are you still doing here go stock those shelves"
I almost expected Alan to say “You have no power here” 😂😂😂
Maybe out of all the managers and people like Rowan, Rowan might actually be the most rational and grateful/appreciative person among the bunch.
Still providing quality content. The character development in this channel is phenomenally hilarious
Meanwhile Ben an Hamish are at the counter waiting to be served. Outrageous!
The quality of the acting is really top notch. You guys never ceases to amaze me! Alan's reaction at 3:39 is gold. Can't wait for the next one!
All of Alans's reactions are gold 💯Nothing beats his endless supply of "WTF" expressions 😁😁😁
Brynley makes me physically sick to my stomach in this clip, AND Rowan actually acted like a normal human being for a split second in a genuinely vulnerable way....this was PERFECT acting for this clip.
**power moan** got me. Love the subtitles.
The quality of both cinema and acting you all continuously put out is a million times better than anything that's come out of Hollywood. Ever.
Rowan: Thank you, next time do it faster, consider this a verbal warning
Still Rowan: "whispers" Thank You
Not gonna lie, that thank you melt my heart
Missed the hillarious subtitles so much!! So glad to have them back! They multiply the value of every video!!
Alan knows it's in his contract, but still realizes he has power because by the time Rowan can fetch the contract, the mojo of the moment is gone.
If you watch this without subtitles you're missing out on some amazing extra jokes. Kudos to whoever writes these cause they're not auto generated.
Love when Alan either stands up or goes of the deep end in these haha. Great job.
Almost feels like I'm watching character development in a game where their is a bit of humanity in Rowan. The fact Rowan has some sort of admiration or Intrinsic value with Alan due to their bond and history of Alan gaining courage and confidence to defend himself and rowan seeing that...especially after the white shirt, black shirt and golden shirt saga I missed these 🥹 well done guys loving watching the content
The fact that they both said "please" in the first place breaks the immersion for me. Rowan is going soft!
It's that fake meaningless please that all managers somehow instinctively learn
You know, when a manager says 'please', it's just the softer way of them giving a command. You're still not allowed to decline/disobey (like the Don in mafia movies)
Rowan being genuine is such an unfamiliar territory, it's always so weird (but wholesome) to see. Love changes people, I guess.😀
The best thing you guys did to this series was to introduce the second manager.
Alan and Rowen's relationship through the seasons is so good! I love the fact that there are three employees and two managers, and all the managers do is make the employees jobs harder! If Play Tech was owned by the government then there would probably be three employees and eight managers... 😅
i like even tho Rowan puts them all through hell, Adam still manages to be a good friend to him
Alan* 😅
@@VivaLaDirtLeague well, Adam too!
@@VivaLaDirtLeague my bad, either auto correct or me just waking up... Both possible
the acting is fucking brilliant, i will watch vldl till my last dying breath.
you get so immersed by the emotion and awkwardness of the characters, its second to none
3:28 Best moment~
Was already LMFAO when I watched the video the first time....Rewatching it the 2nd time with captions on, can't stop whizzing....🤣🤣🤣😂
Whenever Rowan does that nose rub, he's gone full f-boy.
Shieeeeeet
@ 0:40 Subtle shout out to Byron, always working tirelessly behind the scenes. 👏
Need to see more episodes of Brynley, she is AMAZING!!!
The captions when Brynley start getting agitated are nothing short of amazing.
I’m really liking this double manager combo thing! :D
2 managers for 4 employees feels a bit much
@@lucazeroblueversion9346 According to the lore there are 7 empolyees, three managers and one super-manager
First Alan playing Santa for Rowan, now this. So touching to see these glimmers of the old buddies that rowan and alan once where. Before the white shirt, and Rodney. Speaking of, could it be time for Rodney’s evil to rear its head again? I do wonder
Seeing rowan looking desperate is like seeing a god bleed let alone alan didn't even need a white shirt to do it.
"God, I already regret this so much." So proud of Rowan for those whispered words in confidence :)
Atleast we know Rowan is so professional that he wouldn’t dare break policy and have an office romance 😮
"extreme slow mo love and beauty" Omg I am never watching these videos without captions again.
Great acting really, and top notch writing. Wish Rowan had a bit more of a character evolution eventually
at 3:13 Rowan accidentally calls Alan Ben lol, surprised they didn't catch it. Still a great sketch as always.
He says "please man."
Listen, the "Power Tension" between Brynley and Rowan is thicc. They just need to go on a "You're Fired Spree" to sooth themselves.
I actually like how that ending played out for Alan being the wingman for Rowan. And Rowan saying the “Thank You” at the end. I thought he was going to go into the “I want to punch you but I can’t” phase 😮
Bro, I absolutely loved it when Rowan actually said thank you.
wow, y'all have all progressed so much in the last few years. The writing on this skit was hilarious, and having Rowan show deep character development even just for 10 seconds is amazing. Kudos to the whole team for putting in so much amazing effort and love into each video!
The closed captions for this video did a great job describing the noises and grunts 😆. They were fun to read.
I was expecting Rowan to have "Sike" moment after Alan picked it up, nice twist having him say thank you and confusing Alan even more 😂
Omg love your writing. The best part was definitely Alan and Rowan showing they are friends. Even if Rowan could be an unbelievably insane person at times.
A better love story than Twilight!
I don't know who of you does them, but I really appreciate and love the subtitles!
"shoelace noises" in the subtitles made me laugh right out loud
Well they made noises! So I had to subtitle that 🤔
Those two absolutely deserve each other.
God damn i love all the work you guys do! Amazing everytime!
Talk about flashbacks. I worked for those two and this was only barely an exaggeration of what they were like. I actually couldn't finish watching it.
Rowan: 'Tie up my shoelaces Adam!'
Adam: 'But they're Velcro!'
Rowan: 'Just do it Adam!'
😂
I think the hottest thing they could do is to all quit simultaneously..... so they have to get all new employees. That should be an episode. It could even be a multipart episode!
Love these new videos. Keep em comin' mates, hilarious as always.
The „Thank you“, so good
I actually like how alan just doing it for rowan and not because he is the manager, its pretty wholesome
The captions being turned on made this even better.
