- In this video, we visit the mountains just outside of Bcharre, Lebanon to search for Dario Escobar. It was a completely spontaneous trip as we found out while we were staying in Bcharre that Dario had escaped Colombia to find a new life in Lebanon almost 30 years ago where he has been a hermit since. The urge to find him comes from the recommendations from the locals in Bcharre who explained to us that "conversations with Dario Escobar will change your life." This inspired us to go find him.
We actually located the cave where he lived and were steps away from him as we could hear him coughing inside, but unfortunately due to the pandemic we were unable to actually speak with him.

Just because someone has the last name Escobar and is from Medellin Colombia does NOT mean they are automatically associated with the notorious drug lord Pablo Escobar. Dario Escobar is actually my Great Uncle on my mother's side and was the one who baptized me before leaving for Lebanon 26 years ago to simply live a peaceful life and devote himself to God. He wasn't running from anyone, he still has family in Colombia that he communicates with on fairly regular basis. I'm SO SICK of seeing people try to monetize off of something that is just a bunch of lies made up for click bait. DO BETTER. Actually do your research before you post a stupid title like this simply to "get views". It's EXTREMELY disrespectful to us. Take this shit down.

Great video, I grew up there and it is interesting to see it from your perspective. Glad you are enjoying your trip. If you liked the cedars, I would recommend the Barouk cedar reserve in Chouf mountains. Gorgeous place with views of the sea from 7000 feet. Dont forget to stop in Ehden or Zgharta and have their famous Kebbe.

Fouad is so popular after World Nomac's videos in Lebanon; sincerely, he has been the best host they could have found in Lebanon. Nice guy and with fluent English, phenomenal!

If you wanted to see where Father Dario Escobar lives high in the mountains of Lebanon and is the region's last remaining hermit. CNN's Ben Wedeman journeys to speak with Father Dario, who is not as isolated as one might think. Source CNN. There is a short video of him, if you want to Google it. Those bees that scared you might be Apis mellifera syriaca which is said to be the native honeybee subspecies of Jordan and much of the Levant region. Great video. Fantastic views.
