I share the same enthusiasm for Aglaonema. In my experience, they're pest-resistant, thrive in low-light conditions, and rarely develop leggy leaf stems, unlike other plants. They're not finicky about soil, and my plants always appear healthy. Their robust, firm roots make repotting a breeze, reducing the risk of repotting shock. Aglaonemas are also incredibly adaptable. I had a few plants under a grow light upstairs for a year, then moved them to a northern window downstairs, and they showed no signs of shock whatsoever. In fact, they continued to flourish. I've even purchased some online, and they hardly showed any signs of shock after unpacking. While I've had pest issues with other online purchases, I've made it a habit to replace the soil upon arrival, even when not recommended. However, the Aglaonemas seem unfazed by this, and I've never seen any negative effects, such as affected bottom leaves. On the contrary, within two weeks, I often notice new leaves developing. Although they start growing slowly, they can suddenly experience a growth spurt, producing multiple new leaves or shoots. Recently, I had one plant produce three shoots simultaneously, essentially yielding three new plants! I'm passionate about these plants, just like you. They have a unique character, even 'sweating' at night like few other plants do, and their roots are truly remarkable!
Love your videos, Claire. I have had my aglonema silver bay for over 23 years. It survived a move halfway across the US 21 years ago in a moving truck with a large tv that fell on it. It was bent like crazy but survived and came back strong. It has consistently grown so much that I've had to separate it into equally healthy and beautiful smaller plants. It will always be my favorite because my 31 and 27 year old daughters grew up with it. 😂 Please continue to make videos for us to learn and enjoy ❤
I finally got my mitts on a Spider plant "Orange Flash" and I just need that in my life. I have 35-year-old jade plant that I have cut hard over those years so its trunk is THICC compared to the crown, not that the crown isn't big. But it looks more like an old oak tree in shape than how I see people usually keep jade plants. I also just really enjoy my variegated ivy. So easy to get hold of and it just brings me joy having it cover a pole.
I love my Aglonema Stripes, too. She survived direct evening sunlight, me moving, multiple pest infestations with regularily waterboarding in the shower and now lives in a dark corner in my living room. And while she reduced her growth by a lot she is still growing there. Howerver, she is not as bushy as she used to be, and sadl there are no new root groths that I coud cut and propagate 😑 I also got a Manula Pothos from my mum when she didn´t want it anymore (it must be somewhat ancient, as I know it was always around when I grew up) and it´s growing like crazy. The leaves have this beautiful colour changes that look like watercolours or acrylic paint and I love looking at it! I even have some favourite leafes that I check in regularily 🥰 My absolute favourite, however, is my Gasteria acinacifolia. I got it as a gift and did not water it the first half year or so because I thought it was plastic (it was a cheap IKEA one) and when I was made aware of my error I started properly caring for it. It was the first house plant that survived me and I would always start with it again, It is not beautiful and has grown quite wild, but it gives me lots of offshoots to gift to friends and it flowers since it stands in a bright place. It has the most amazing flamingo head shaped flowers and as I said, it can survive nearly anything. Great plant for beginners!
My hands down favourite is the Alocasia Longiloba. I have two, and I adore them. They’re so easy going, and the leaf shape amuses me to no end for some reason.
Lovely idea 🥰 I have been a serious plant Parent for maybe 4 months, and my collection is not that Big. Maybe 25 plants and counting, plus I have a garden with both South and east facing places where I have around 12 plants and counting 😍 I have an Homalonema and I love her, she was one of my first plants and the tag just Said “green plant 40 DKR”. She is so Easy, the only place she did not like was the window sill in a South facing 🫣 I recently got 3 baby raphi. Tetra. And I can’t WAIT for Them to grow big 😍 Oh and I almost screamed earlier and scared my boyfriend, because I noticed that my BOP is putting out a new leaf 😍😍😍
I'm in two minds about getting an aglaeonoma. My must haves are Alocasias. Frydek. Portadora. Regal Shield. Ninja. Any and all. Boston fern - so easy but big impact. Also calathea zebrina, and pepperomias. I have baby versions of all your other choices. My strelitzia (bird of paradise) is barely 5 inches tall currently.
Omgosh I feel ya with the spring onions! I get so distracted so easily and often wonder just what the hell am I doing?! I’ve killed 2 previous manjulas, I’m praying this new one will live so I can train it up a moss pole and get it to maturity like Jan on Sydney plant guy!! I would absolutely LOVE to watch you repot your Raph Tetrasperma!!
Love this video the one plant is the mini monstera I love it & my gloriousum another fave and my Hoya NGG. Love all my plants. Can’t wait to see ur next video.
Knowing myself as I do, I can't imagine not having a jade plant and a Thanksgiving cactus. Those are long-time staples for me. I think I'd probably always want to have a Hoya Carnosa Compacta and a Hoya Carnosa Krimson Queen. I would definitely also have aglaonema, though -- unlike yourself -- I go for the colorful ones. I think I'd also get a Peace Lily Domino. Lastly, either a Marble Queen or Manjula pothos.
When you introduce Joli I always say “ Hi Joli!” I have 3 rescues and they are a motley crew! Love love them. Ok so we need to see the bedroom plants-it’s been awhile! Second I am wanting you to move so we can see your collection morph! When you mentioned moss poling the pothos I just imagined what Claire’s collection in a bigger space would look like now! Tell Ross to take on a second job! JK! I am just imagining the possibilities! Love your content Claire!
Pothos are so nice for beginners. They have beautiful green foliage that brightens a room, and they are hearty. I also think they are great for learning about propagation. Does your bird of paradise bloom?
Loved this video!!! Plants that I would not part with would be my Anthurium -Wave of Love and definitely agree with the pothos plants as well as Aglaonemas. I also love my Calathea - Orbifolia (even though she can be a struggle). I'm starting to love my snake plant as it is getting bigger from a cutting and love my bushy Calathea - Leopardina.
Hmmm, for me it would be my neon pothos, aspidistra, philo Brazil and ZZ. Loved this vid and you reminded me that I didn't order spring onions, cheers doll ❤
Hey Claire love your videos! When you showed your anthurium it looked like it had white patches but didn't know if it was just the shine from the cam? Just wondered what that was 😅
Epipremnums (pothos), Peperomias, and Chlorophytum cosmosum (spider plant). So basic, but they are my favourites. The different varieties just have so much personality. I basically want to collect them all 😂 I do want to start adding Aglonema’s. I feel like I’m missing out. Also, I share your feelings on my Rhaphidophora tetrasperma. I just can’t imagine it not being there. It just takes up a position and holds its own.
For me, it would be my pothos…I’ve had her for about 15 years. I have propagated her sooooo many times. I think almost everyone at my office has one of my propagations. (not a very big office btw) 😂 I absolutely love my carnivorous plants. I have nepenthes, VFTs, pinguiculas, drosera and Sarracenias. Love all my Monsteras, Thai, Albo and deliciosa…I’m waiting for my daughter to gift me a cutting of her Aurea. If I knew how much fun Hoyas were, I would have started sooner. I just went down the Hoya rabbit hole less than a year ago and I’ve purchased quite a few cuttings so I’ve got a pretty good little collection now. Last but not least my cacti. I have a few euphorbias, some Gymnocalciums, variegated Opuntia, a few Echinopsis & Astrophytum varieties. Although I love Anthurium, there are too many hybrids to keep track of so I tend to be selective in my choices. This video was so much fun and makes you think about the plants that aren’t high maintenance that you love. Oh and a special shout out to Alocasias…I find looking for corms during a repot kinda like looking for a little buried treasure. 😂
I would probably try to replace my Manjula pothos first. Then my Thai Constellation. And I would have to have my Domino Peace Lily and a Staghorn fern. I am down to about 100 plants from 250 that I owned during covid. So most of my collection are my favorite plants.
.. I didn't know about red spring onions.. But I know that when you chop off the green top, you can sit the rest of it in a glass with 1 - 2cm water, and the top will grow back and the onion will make roots 🤗 .. I love my Aglaonemas, and my Syngoniums, and all of my hanging pothos and philodendrons.. And my cane Begonia Catalina who is very special to me.. My maranta's and ctenanthes.. Oh, for flying sake, it's like choosing between your pets 😳 impossible..
I love all of you plants. I love my ponytail palm, peperomia hope, and someone gifted me a manjula on a moss pole! I love them all though. Q: do you find the your Rhaphidophora needs a grow light to climb like that? I have been struggling with mine
Mine would be the Stromanthe triostar, alocasias black velvet & dragon scale, monstera Thai Con, calathea rufibarba, makoyana & rattlesnake, my Dean McDowell. Oh hell!! All of them. 😍
I think my plants I will always have are my monstera deliciosa, philodendron gloriosum, philodendron micans, and my zz. Honorable mentions are my philodendron glorious, Hoya mathilde, and anthurium vittarifolium
😂 You did not seem drunk. Mix that ginger beer with a little lime juice and vodka for a tasty Moscow Mule. 😋 I'm such a fan of peace lilies. I have a couple different varieties that will always be a staple in my collection. I also love aglonaema colors and varieties, but can only keep them alive in water or perlite .
For me, I think i wouldn't want to part with my goeldii, Schleffera Variagata, my alocasias, White butterfly syngonium, and a few hoya varieties. And, yes, aglaonema are low maintenance BUT FOR those with pink or red variegation. Love the video❤.
Hi! What type of Hoya is trailing between your Euphorbias in this video? I bought one that looks just like it at my local nursery but the worker sadly didn't know what kind. Also thank you for always being you!
I would immediately replace my Scindapsus pictus 'Exotica', Raven ZZ, Hoya carnosa Krimson Queen and K. Princess, Alocasia Stingray, Fernwood Sansevieria, Schismatoglottis wallichii, Monstera Peru, Calathea lancifolia (rattlesnake) and Stromanthe Tricolor.

I now have a massive list of plants that are needed in my life. Thank you for your insight into some real beauties.

When the red spring onions have roots, can infact be propagated *and* grown as indoor plants.
😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂

I would always want to have heartleaf philodendrons hanging and trailing in my house. And I’m completely in love with my manjoula pothos too!
Your love for the Peperomia Hope inspired me to finally get one. I'm very happy I did as I love it!
My hands down favourite is the Alocasia Longiloba. I have two, and I adore them. They’re so easy going, and the leaf shape amuses me to no end for some reason.
I love my Bird of Paradise. I actually have three now, propagated one. Love the tropical feeling it gives too! 🪴
Those onions look soooo good!! ❤ your plants are beautiful, many of those are some of my favorites too 🪴😁
It's always so nice to see you and your plants Claire ❤
Lovely idea 🥰

OMG Claire uploaded a video
*immediately clicks*

Hi Claire! One of my favorite of yours is the Mac Dowell!
Love this video the one plant is the mini monstera I love it & my gloriousum another fave and my Hoya NGG. Love all my plants. Can’t wait to see ur next video.

Hi Claire I know this is a random topic but can you do an update on your avocado 🥑 by the way I love all. Your plants and love watching your videos
When you introduce Joli I always say “ Hi Joli!” I have 3 rescues and they are a motley crew! Love love them. Ok so we need to see the bedroom plants-it’s been awhile! Wow. Thanks so much for sharing. I’ve learned something about a plant I do have. Awesome collection
I wouldn’t go without my Monstera Albo, Jose Buono, the Florida Ghost, Beauty and Green. My Philodendron Brazil and Rio are keepers too 😀🇨🇦
I came for the spring onions, but the plants were good too!
For me, it would be my pothos…I’ve had her for about 15 years. I have propagated her sooooo many times. I think almost everyone at my office has one of my propagations. Great choices; I’d choose Dubia also!
I love my Pothos and my peperomia hope kept getting knocked over where it was and moved it and it’s recovering and growing so well now

6:14 In case you weren't aware, fun fact the plural of genus is genera.
Mine would be the Stromanthe triostar, alocasias black velvet & dragon scale, monstera Thai Con, calathea rufibarba, makoyana & rattlesnake, my Dean McDowell. Oh hell!! All of them. 😍
My must haves are my philodendron Splendid and micans
I think my plants I will always have are my monstera deliciosa, philodendron gloriosum, philodendron micans, and my zz. Honorable mentions are my philodendron glorious, Hoya mathilde, and anthurium vittarifolium
For me, it would be both the geen and varegated form of Alocasia Frydek, also bird of paradise, one of my Antheriums and Philodendron gloriosum ❤
😂 You did not seem drunk. Mix that ginger beer with a little lime juice and vodka for a tasty Moscow Mule. 😋 I'm such a fan of peace lilies. Hi Claire ..I put my ficus Audrey out in the rain just for 30 minutes and I've noticed that the leaves looking awful yellow and discoloured. Hepl
Nice video 🪴 🌿
For me, I think i wouldn't want to part with my goeldii, Schleffera Variagata, my alocasias, White butterfly syngonium, and a few hoya varieties. And, yes, aglaonema are low maintenance BUT FOR those with pink or red variegation. Love the video❤.
Beautiful plants. Where do you buy your plants? I’m a beginner. Thanks
I found 2 pieces of 2 different pepperomia and hoping they root. Yay free plants
For me it’s my philodendron scandens brasil it’s not very special but I love the Way it’s growing on my wall right now
FIRST!!!!!!!!!! What a fun idea!
Oooh hello, a cool video appeared ❤❤❤❤
Hi! What type of Hoya is trailing between your Euphorbias in this video? I bought one that looks just like it at my local nursery but the worker sadly didn't know what kind. Also thank you for always being you!
Hi Claire! Where do you buy those transparent pots? I love them !
Man I'd love to have a pallidiflorum! It's unfortunate that it's sold out in so many european shops atm.
Where did you get the copper leaf shaped plant support that you have in your alocasia? I love it!
Thank you! It's gorgeous isn't it!? It was very kindly sent to me by www.cottonlily.co.uk/ 💚
The Anthurium Pallidiflorum is top on my wishlist, but unless it's a baby, it's still very expensive.
Before you stood up to show us the cactus I noticed a plant behind you, is that a caladium? If I’m right, what is it called? Easy to grow?
so what are the care tips for the spring onions?
Omg the shock happened to me with my peperomia Cupid 😭 currently trying to prop it back to life. Also when is your birthday?! Mine is September 15th
I would immediately replace my Scindapsus pictus 'Exotica', Raven ZZ, Hoya carnosa Krimson Queen and K. Princess, Alocasia Stingray, Fernwood Sansevieria, Schismatoglottis wallichii, Monstera Peru, Calathea lancifolia (rattlesnake) and Stromanthe Tricolor.
I really need me a Euphorbia Ammak for no particular reason
Can you give ratio of potting soil, perlite and orchid mix for potting?
You say photos are very easy. I have trouble with mine. Lots of brown spots need help any suggestions?
Once I found my phone in the fridge 😂
💚💚💚💚💚
