      Honestly that's pretty simple. Most of the sound really is it going up and down. From what I can tell it's just a basic shape. Doesn't really have much processing on it.

    my dude, i just got into serum and sound design and your tutorials are simply the best. please, if you can find time, continue making these videos!

    Awesome tutorial! Little tip, dont forget to disable resample when rendering videos. If in sony vegas, right click on the video track > swatches > disable resample. This stops vegas from "blending frames" and makes the video way more crisp!

      Just went back and learned the chords you showed at the beginning, and wow. I LOVE that you included that and allowed me to learn some new tricks and voices. Best tutorial I've seen in a long time. Cheers!

    you are convincing me to pass on arturia and diva..i didnt know i can make synthwave patches with serum...nice stuff man..

    • @birkknut276

      I use Diva too, and it does sound more analog than what's possible with Serum, but i actually like the modern/retro hybrid sound that you get with serum.

      What does it mean if something sounds "more analog"?

    • @birkknut276
      @birkknut276 5 років тому +2

      @@captainvoluntaryistthestat3207 There's more randomness programmed into the synth so there will be slight variations in pitch, velocity etc each time you play a note, to emulate the classic analog sound basically.

    I don't have Serum, but this did give me an idea to take one of my TAL Juno pad sounds, duplicate to 3 total tracks, detune one layer slightly, and add a different LFO sweep to the 3rd layer. Not my first time layering sounds, but probably the first time I've eliberately used 3 slight tweaks of the same voice together.
