I wish the eyes had that distinctive raised, goggle-like shape to them that this look usually sports, but I can't complain about how cool the reflection of the cityscape looks in the eyes that we did get.
Yeah, I get that the simplified look is the more commonly used Superior look, but I have a big soft spot for the original Stegman design with the raised, thick lenses.
You pretty much summed up all my thoughts on this figure, both pros and cons. I can look past the shortcomings, because he just looks so badass on my shelf! As you pointed out, he's just a lot of fun to pose and play around with.
Got a processing email from BBTS for Superior Spider-Man, Wolverine, Ghost Rider, Kingpin, and the Heroes for Hire yesterday. Had to cancel everything except for Kingpin but being a big Spider-Man fan I'm gonna have to swing back around in a few days and snag Superior.
I saw this figure at target yesterday and it looked freaking awesome. It almost made me consider buying a figure that wasn’t turtles. Really sick looking figure.
I saw this figure at my target too, same price as you! I picked it up because it looks so damn cool, I have no attachment to this version of the character, though I do want to read that series at some point because it sounds like it was really great.
Great review, Robo. I love the X-Men goodness 😍 as well, but over the years, Spider-Man has definitely found his way into my heart The figure looks amazing.
I can relate Robo. After opening the Astonishing X-Men Wolverine figure I haven’t been able to put it down. And I’m not exactly a sucker for this particular costume. Hell I have t read any of my astonishing books again in almost 20 years. But these new batch of x-men figures from the Cassaday and Whedon run are making those books seem irresistible. And the new Iron Man Mark 20 combined with the new Luke Cage, the recent Sentry fig and this Wolverine make me want to mark out for New Avengers comics too. Hasbro has got us by the heartstrings
I love Superior Spider-man and this figure is great, I am looking forward to figuring what pose I will have for him on the Spiderverse shelf. Thanks for the review I was worried about the Waldos now I know.
If Hasbro ever gets rid of the waste twist completely.. I won’t complain. I’ll always prefer the Renew your Vows build. That old waste swivel/ab crunch can be forgotten lol
Ok, I know there’s a lot of different opinions on the waist articulation, but I understand why they might’ve done it. Both this and Iron spider have a ratcheted ab crunch which can support the waldoes. I’ve tried to put waldoes on a custom RYV body but the diaphragm isn’t strong enough. It’s really not fun and because these waldoes are soft/hard plastic that can support the figure I imagine they have more weight than my Revoltech Iron Spider waldoes. It’s not ideal but it is understandable. I’ll have to see my order come to confirm those theories, however.
Gonna take a guess they’re gonna make a superior Spiderman legend with the diaphragm articulation with him being in his original superior fit. The one where it’s mainly Peter’s suit with darker colors and the circles in the lenses.
I finally pulled the trigger and got this figure. I miss the pre order and it cost 45 bucks off Amazon. But I followed this series and one of my favorite non spider man Spider-Man stories. I loved the spider clone series too back in the 90s too.
You ain’t lying brotha! I wish this had the torso joint. Would have made it that much better! They need to completely set away from the mid torso cut now.
I really.hope we get a Spider-Gwen/Ghost Spider with those toe joints- Some of the poses she does are almost ballet-like and those joints would definitely help those poses
I feel like they could have used the Renew Your Vows articulation but I still think Superior Spider-Man looks cool especially with those head sculpts along with the waldoes, I personally don't care for the storyline but I will consider on getting Spider Shot for my very own Spider-Verse shelf, Awesome review overall on him Robo.
This figure wasn't on my list, as I don't really care about Superior Spider-man, but damn it does have a presence like you said. It looks like a damn good action figure, and like you always say a good figure can make you interested in the character.
I actually like this new mold for Superior Spider-Man. Some people don't like it because it's not in the RYV mold, but I like it for that same reason. It makes the figure stand out. It's not perfect; it may not have the same range of articulation as either RYV or AF (or maybe even the retro mold), but it still gets the job done for the most part. I'd put this more or less on par with Armored Daredevil (IMO arguably the best ML DD figure to date) from the first Spider-Man retrocard wave.
I really like this torso. The shoulders feel lot squarer to me and morr anatomically correct. Makes me hope they fill in the holes and use it a lot more.
Some quirky parts for sure but overall very nice, very nice. They need to keep up that broad and wide shoulder build. I'd say because of that he looks even more V shaped and heroic.
This fig is cool. I remember the design being like or an exactly like the Alex Ross design that floated around for James Cameron’s Spider-Man movie. That “Metamorphosis” Kaufkaesque idea was creepy as hell. This Superior storyline was also pretty off putting. Old/dying Doc Ock transferred his mind with Peter and Doc Ock’s body dies. Creepy. It grew on me. I bought Waldos from Etsy for the first figure. I’ll try them on this one. I like the interchangeable backpack. It’s a good fig for sure.
Alex Ross design with chrome lenses? Gimme gimme. Hasbro has proven they can do it and very well (even if it's painted). I want my classic, iconic, Alex Ross design that is my minds eye Spider-Man besides Raimi - I need it!
I never realized the legs could bend that way, I just spun all the tips backwards and bent them the other way, have him hanging from a floral wire web off of them
Dang. You pointing out superior ock makes it even more frustrating that they didn’t do the floating torso. This figure LOOKS excellent but def a bit disappointing to play with. Head sits oddly low on the neck too I’ve seen some posts of the ball joint snapping off. End of day though it’s fun and so are your vids. And that’s what it’s all about 👏 👏
I think the only way they could have used the RYVs buck for this guy is if they glued the backpack on to the figure, if I was that interested in Superior Spider-Man I would definitely try it. That waist swivel is rough to look at.
I really wish we got a Todd McFarlane Spidey sometime, with the huge eyes. Maybe it'll come sometime, but I feel like I'll probably have to get a custom head sometime for that.
I also feel like if they put holes in the RYV torso, they would just leave the holes there like they did with the movie Venom body. I think they didn't want to do that.
My hot take is that this sis still my favorite spidey mold. The posture/proportions just work a lot better than ryv spidey, those distinct high shoulders really do a lot of work to leep him from looking droopy the way ryv and retro do imo
Honestly I think the only thing needed aside from better waist articulation is removing drop down hips. I don’t hate them all the time, but I’m not really confident in how Hasbro handles them 9 times out of 10
6:17 & 6:23 & 7:04 & 9:43 bro's' god knows how many true thoughts leaked XDD 10:30 UNDERSTOOD, AND WON'T BE USING THAT PEARL EYES HEAD Secondly, will be posing him against S-M 2 Doc Ock that came at NWH deluxe figure
The timing on this video. I'm literally debating if I want to keep this or not. I have no connection to this version of Spider-Man but damn if he's not my favorite. So what do I do? I have a feeling you're gonna sway me and cost me $25.55 sir..
It frustrates me that people misunderstand Superior Spider-man. Otto was Spider-man for the series but in the end he couldn't save Anna Marie and realised Peter was the superior Spider-man and gave Peter back his body and life.
I like the new body mold but I dislike how it's different from basic Spider-man. I mean he is supposed to be the same guy with different costume. Like Ben Reilly and Renew Your Wovs body matching, I want the same person to have the same body?
I only have a few problems with this figure. The head shape, specifically the chin, is really weird when you make him look up, he looks like he doesn’t have a chin. Also the ab crunch is definitely frustrating to me. Also the lack of chrome eyes is more of a nitpick, rather than a problem. But my last problem is those butterfly joints are extremely limited from what I remember. I do like the cityscape paint in the eyes though, I think that was a good alternative to the chrome eyes.
it’s bizarre to me they included a (useless) non waldo back piece but no spider bots. guess i’ll have to watch a future play day to find out where you get your spider bots
Like mine overall too, but yeah this figure has some minor issues. Don't expect to use my waldos to keep him upright as it'll eventually fall over, the second head on mine is super tight too idk what's up with that, and the neck on mine has some weird lines on the sides that connect the entire neck shell together, but it's sticking out a bit. Not so flush and sealed like a shell should be. But eh overall he's a good enough figure.
It actually kinda pisses me off how archaic the articulation is in this brand new figure with "new sculpted parts". If you're gonna sculpt an entirely new torso, why not give it some updated articu-fucking-lation.
I thought Superior Spiderman was Doc Ock as Spiderman....so why would he still look like Spiderman inside the suit?? He should be compared to a Doc Ock figure, no?
I wish the eyes had that distinctive raised, goggle-like shape to them that this look usually sports, but I can't complain about how cool the reflection of the cityscape looks in the eyes that we did get.
Yeah, I get that the simplified look is the more commonly used Superior look, but I have a big soft spot for the original Stegman design with the raised, thick lenses.
Any pose that people strike with the waldos supporting this figure still just makes my jaw drop.
Cannot wait for my Superior Spider-Man to ship
Not as easy as it looks to do, better off using a stand to support his weight to allow for full creativity with the waldoes
The waldos seem far too soft to do that easily or for very long.
I actually passed up on this in store, I hope someone who really wanted it got it
IVE BEEN LOOKIN FOR YOU ROBO!
im so happy to be here again
It’s a good figure. Looks menacing in a Spider-Man shelf with those spider legs.
I remember hunting down the old one because I was loving the book so much so I had to get this one!
Same here! The old one I hunted down was a preloved one. I just had to get this!
I always love seeing reviews on figures that I'm iffy about. I'm definitely more interested now. Love this channel to pieces
You pretty much summed up all my thoughts on this figure, both pros and cons. I can look past the shortcomings, because he just looks so badass on my shelf! As you pointed out, he's just a lot of fun to pose and play around with.
Wow i love the way those eyes are painted. Very unique
Looks like a fun figure, it was a great arc in the comics.
A of all those choices, whyy KingPin?? 😭
Just asking no hate
Edit: also make sure to use BBTS’ pile of loot! Will hold your stuff for 90 days
I saw this figure at target yesterday and it looked freaking awesome. It almost made me consider buying a figure that wasn’t turtles. Really sick looking figure.
I *really* hope we get a classic suit on this mold, it's just about perfect
I saw this figure at my target too, same price as you! I picked it up because it looks so damn cool, I have no attachment to this version of the character, though I do want to read that series at some point because it sounds like it was really great.
I love this figure
What a great, fun review! I wish we'd see more reviews like this. Thanks Robo!
Great review, Robo. I love the X-Men goodness 😍 as well, but over the years, Spider-Man has definitely found his way into my heart
The figure looks amazing.

Seeing Robo do the exact same thing I did when opening the box and pulling out the back cover, and the same reaction. Made me laugh :)
I definitely wanna see those chrome eyes in a future Play Day!
Im so excited for this figure!
Great storyline and cool design!

I just got mine in the post and I'm liking him a lot... and, yeah, I too got Scarlet Spider. Peace, brother!
I finally pulled the trigger and got this figure. I miss the pre order and it cost 45 bucks off Amazon. But I followed this series and one of my favorite non spider man Spider-Man stories. I loved the spider clone series too back in the 90s too.
I was adding the waldos to mine at work as I watched this
Love the way these eyes are painted! Hasbro needs a way to hide the waist cut someway, or make the gap really negligible.
You ain’t lying brotha! I wish this had the torso joint. Would have made it that much better! They need to completely set away from the mid torso cut now.
I would too but when I tried making a custom with the diaphragm and ab crunch the diaphragm was too weak to support the waldoes unfortunately.
@@amazingstudios7889 makes perfect sense. Hopefully eventually there is a way to troubleshoot that issue. Still looks good for sure!
Makes me really want updates for the Superior Foes version of the Sinister Six, I loved those losers so much.
Wish they would’ve just done chrome painted eyes
I really.hope we get a Spider-Gwen/Ghost Spider with those toe joints-
Some of the poses she does are almost ballet-like and those joints would definitely help those poses
Robo we need a marvel updated collection tour
Not sure why it got so much hate. The figure looks fine to me. Yeah, wish they used the torso, but it's not a deal breaker to me.
I picked this up at Target for 25 dollars on Monday!
yeah they did a great job with the proportions and overall look of the figure. this might be the only ML spidey i'll ever own
Not bad bro rodo and awesome video
This figure wasn't on my list, as I don't really care about Superior Spider-man, but damn it does have a presence like you said. It looks like a damn good action figure, and like you always say a good figure can make you interested in the character.

Great review as always 🫡
LMAO "The more you know" was perfect!
I hope you had a good time at SDCC
I really like this torso. The shoulders feel lot squarer to me and morr anatomically correct. Makes me hope they fill in the holes and use it a lot more.
Some quirky parts for sure but overall very nice, very nice. They need to keep up that broad and wide shoulder build. I'd say because of that he looks even more V shaped and heroic.
So sick. I need this asap!
So the legs are... Reuse Your Vows?
You go sit down and think about what you've done!
Creepy. 1st time I actually had a figure before Robo's video.
I can't wait to get one.
Alex Ross design with chrome lenses? Gimme gimme. Hasbro has proven they can do it and very well (even if it's painted). I want my classic, iconic, Alex Ross design that is my minds eye Spider-Man besides Raimi - I need it!
If you look close there is a button on the box that pops open the bottom flap so you can open it. ;)
I never realized the legs could bend that way, I just spun all the tips backwards and bent them the other way, have him hanging from a floral wire web off of them
My intro to superior spidey was lozaus1 lol, those videos were great
And that’s what it’s all about 👏 👏
I think the waldoes are the reason for the crunch, as they are noticeably larger than superior ock’s tentacles and more hard plastic, likely heavier.
I think the only way they could have used the RYVs buck for this guy is if they glued the backpack on to the figure, if I was that interested in Superior Spider-Man I would definitely try it. That waist swivel is rough to look at.
I wish the waist articulation was different too but the RYV doesn’t have a strong enough diaphragm joint for waldoes 😢
@@amazingstudios7889 You don't think so?
I really wish we got a Todd McFarlane Spidey sometime, with the huge eyes. Maybe it'll come sometime, but I feel like I'll probably have to get a custom head sometime for that.
It's undoubtedly a great figure, but I'd really love a Superior Spider-Man 1.0
>Reviews Superior Spider man
>Wears Soundwave shirt
>Soundwave is truly superior
I also feel like if they put holes in the RYV torso, they would just leave the holes there like they did with the movie Venom body. I think they didn't want to do that.
I think it’s a weight issue imo
My hot take is that this sis still my favorite spidey mold. The posture/proportions just work a lot better than ryv spidey, those distinct high shoulders really do a lot of work to leep him from looking droopy the way ryv and retro do imo

Haha no way! You responded to a comment I left about finding this dude at target! 😂
I put the extra head on the big head bug eyed Ben Reilly. Web pattern matches well
Today is national 🕷️🕸️ day 😂❤❤❤❤😂😂
I think this is my favourite Spider-Man costume but I know hardly anything about the character.
Amazing video!! Where do you get the stands for the figures? To hold spider man on the air?
Dang, you guys are lucky I never ever ever find stuff in target it’s only Peg warmers and garbage every time at least in Honolulu Hawaii lol
although the articulation isn’t the greatest, it’s one of the best proportioned spider-man hasbro figures
6:17 & 6:23 & 7:04 & 9:43 bro's' god knows how many true thoughts leaked XDD
10:30 UNDERSTOOD, AND WON'T BE USING THAT PEARL EYES HEAD
Secondly, will be posing him against S-M 2 Doc Ock that came at NWH deluxe figure
Do you have a Danny Ketch Ghost Rider in hand or coming, Robo? It's a damn nice set!
The timing on this video. I'm literally debating if I want to keep this or not. I have no connection to this version of Spider-Man but damn if he's not my favorite. So what do I do? I have a feeling you're gonna sway me and cost me $25.55 sir..
Where did you get the thing that's holding the waldos to the stand?
mrgtoyz.com/
Mine don't ship until september 🥲
What kind of figure holder is he using? I’ve got to get one.
mrgtoyz.com/
@@RoboDontKnow Thanks!
I read it
Surprised there was no side by side with Iron Spider. Great review though!
I don't have Iron Spider.
I think it would have been cool if they did like a mirror silver for the eyes! Does anyone else agree?
Lest's pre order it right fucking now, don't know what I was waiting for
Are you going to give a foot swivel to Astonishing Wolverine
Shouldnt the eye lenses be black, or am I wrong on that? Thats what I see when I look up artwork of him.
Mine has a qc issue with the right hip. If I attempt to lift it, it turns the drop down peg. What should I do?
It frustrates me that people misunderstand Superior Spider-man. Otto was Spider-man for the series but in the end he couldn't save Anna Marie and realised Peter was the superior Spider-man and gave Peter back his body and life.
I whish i could find a spiderman 2 game superior suit headsculpt to put on mine
What kind of stand are you using?

I like the new body mold but I dislike how it's different from basic Spider-man. I mean he is supposed to be the same guy with different costume. Like Ben Reilly and Renew Your Wovs body matching, I want the same person to have the same body?

I wanna see those tentacles on an MCU Iron Spider

It's not the most agile spider-man ...
... but he's definitely edge-ile enough.
Is he superior though?
What head sculpt is on the RYV, animated series Peter or custom?
Like mine overall too, but yeah this figure has some minor issues. a drop of hot glue to the tip of each tentacle will prevent it from slip
Why do people call them waldos
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remote_manipulator
never like the crab spider-man,except the webbing pattern
I thought Superior Spiderman was Doc Ock as Spiderman....so why would he still look like Spiderman inside the suit?? He should be compared to a Doc Ock figure, no?
He takes over Peter’s body
