Wish we would get a more Mark Bagley styled heads. So much of the 90s spiderman comics was done by him, especially the Maximum Carnage saga. I understand Todd created him but in my mind Mark's work sticks out in my head first.

Dude, same. Bagley has been the GOAT ever since Lethal Protector. Pretty much every other artist just sucks at drawing Venom's face and head IMO.

Same. I love McFarlane and I'm stoked for this figure because I haven't gotten the prior "grinning" heads, and I think this is the best of them so far, but Bagley is the ideal Venom for me. I'd kill for one modeled after Lethal Protector 1.

The double ball joint is a superior joint to the swivel hinge. Unfortunately Hasbro does not know how to do a double ball jointed neck, so we're stuck with new and amazing figures with mediocre head range.
You are correct. Something needs to be tweaked big time.
I read a while back that the double ball joints aren’t that great because of safety regulations.
Apparently the joint has to be a certain depth within the body, otherwise it can’t be sold to younger audiences. That’s why the range isn’t great.
I’m not sure if it’s accurate or not but it would explain it, so I’ve gone with that as an explanation ever since I first read about it.
@@SlicedNugget That’s a lie from the marvel team. If that were the case, then the Black Series figures would have the same problem, but those figures have incredible head and neck range. I think it’s because placing it deeper in the head keeps the QC under control, which is very important when you consider how many Marvel figures Hasbro produces in comparison to their other lines.

I just got agent venom. Some loose knees but nothing some superglue couldn’t fix. By far, my favorite figure.

I don’t know how it somehow seems to have happened, but I just realized that without having u in my weekly viewing rotation, between ur videos and ur live streams, that u now represent an era or a time capsule of a place and time in my life that I forgot I didn’t have anymore! One day we’ll get the drop down hip, neck hinged, toe articulated and pinless version. Hopefully before I’m dead.

i hear ya for th3 neck limit for dumbell styled once i took a page from the retro spidey and used a xacto knifr to cut a lil notch so my movie venom can hunch over but still look forward

Leave it to J to provide all the details we need when it comes to figures. This Venom looks amazing! Definitely an upgrade from the 3 Pack Venom. Hell, the more durable white paint is enough reason for me to buy this. I was always hesitant to mess with the 3 Pack one because of potential paint chipping. The torso on this Venom also seems to have a larger spider/dragon symbol on the chest, which is especially better on the back. I believe there is more chest to back ratio on this buck, too, since the Omega Red mould was a little slim in that regard.
My only issues with this figure is that the head seems too high up on the body, and the arms may be a tad bit too long. Something about this new torso seems to make this more apparent. Still, that stuff won't really matter when Venom's not in a vanilla pose. Overall, incredible! ^^
Yeah, he addressed EVERYTHING in this review. From the plastic, the paint, the range comparison (laughably disappointing) It's wild. So much passion put into his reviews.

I love the new McFarlane head but if I want to use a venom head with the tongue sticking out, I go for the one that came in the Knull two pack.

Nice review as always, can't wait to get him. Wish we had gotten a new Bagley style head and pinless arms/legs. Guess that means we can fully expect another new Venom in a few years. Having bought the last two Venoms, my biggest wants were the torso twist + butterflies. Glad we're finally getting that.

Best “regular size” Venom imo. The Knull two pack and the one from the three pack weren’t it for me. This is the best one articulation, colors and accessories wise. Sure more accessories would have better but it has enough. 👍
Out of curiosity what didn't you like from the King in Black Venom? He's my favorite and the only thing I'm jealous of this venom is the butterfly hinges

Definitely looks better than the 3-pack version. Even with all the choices for Venom, I've still stuck with the 2006 Toybiz 'symbiote blast' Venom, until now. Got mine preordered the moment it dropped.

I do wish they would've gone with smooth forearms though for a nice classic look - I supposed they'll do another version later on with that being changed.
Awesome video like always. The neck thing is all Hasbros fault. The double ball peg is the go to for necks, they just keep doing it wrong on the engineering side. The jada toys Ryu and fei long are the perfect examples of how its supposed to be done. It really isnt hard to get right.
I played with the real retro venom over 30 years ago. He had fixed arms and his hands were flat out like a zombie but he was big like early venom comics. I played with him until his paint wore off
I had the first 2 from ToyBiz ... the one that you could squeeze goop out of ... and the other with the flicking tongue.
Knull Venom is the GOAT IMO. Hardly ever see the... F E E T
I hope Hasbro gives us a more classic-style tongue head (maybe with slime?) when they inevitably rerelease this figure again

I find the color blacks and textures of the other don't really mix, IMO, which is why I didn't do it. 🤘

At the end where you have black costume Spider-Man and Deadpool pose with Venom. You should have had black costume spider-man and venom looking at each other with the side eyes because they have beef. 😄😄😄

I painted the spider onto my movie Venom. So far that has held me over, but this one is tempting.

2:39 They did with the new Punisher body. We need a new Black Panther in that Punisher body. Also, a classic Wolverine (tiger stripe & brown suit), Nightcrawler and classic Captain America need a this kind of torso articulation.

Honestly, I was on the fence about this one. The Spiderman Retro figures are the only ones I keep Mint On Card, so I was definitely in for one, but wasn’t sure if I really needed a second one to open. I’ve been a huge Venom fan since I was a kid, so I’m glad to see this one turned out decently well. The King in Black Venom is probably going to remain my definitive Venom on my shelf, but this video makes me look forward to getting this version in hand.

I have the Knull one, the 3 pack version, monster Venom, the Sandman BAF one, the Select and the MAFEX- so I’m conflicted, tempted and sorta hoping Hasbro would do a fully pinless version of a definitive Venom soon. I know it’s like 35 bucks after taxes but I got a lot of Uber rides to do so I’m back and forth on this. And it’s like do I use that for food/travel or another awesome figure? 😂

According to the King in Black storyline, Brock trusts Peter enough to take care of his son if something were to happen. I'd say ally shelf at this point.

If you make a cut at the back of the neck with an xacto knife like the scarlet spider, the range of up movement is really increased
