I have a feeling that will be the Wolverine Dan's been hinting at as his favorite Wolvie of the year. They've been giving us the costumes from the last couple of episodes of X-Men 97 like Rogue and Charles so it would make sense. Also would explain why they didn't include a regular Wolverine head with weapon of vengeance
Based on their behavior, they probably will just reissue or modify the og brown suit body with new heads. X-Men legends always sold really well with minimum effort from hasbro 🤣

(How about an Ogun already, Hasbro?!!)🙄 Nicely done on the custom tweaks to make the Wolverine more to your liking,Robo! Looks good. Still love that Bonecrusher custom Reaver you did though! Awesome work.
I was introduced to the X-Men during their Astonishing era, so the designs will always be special to me. When I picture Wolverine, this is what I picture.
Thank you so much for showing off that skin tone color. I’ve been struggling for years trying to find one and this saved me so much trouble in regards to painting faces😭
Same here, years and years of looking for a skintone that I can use right out of the bottle and sooooooo many that just looked weird until I found this brand. Now I feel I need to grab a few more just as backups.
I remember in one of the streams, I think it was Dan that said they still have another new wolverine that he is more excited for. Can’t wait to find out which costume he is talking about
If I had to guess, I would guess it’s a new brown costume Wolverine on the X-Men 97 Wolverine mold. It’s an easy repaint that finally gives us a pinless classic brow costume Wolverine My only question is do they go with classic belt buckle or do they go with the 90s X-belt? I would personally prefer the classic belt buckle, but I think they’ll go with the X-belt because that version appeared in X-Men 97
Great review. One of the ONLY people to even mention the suit colors. Wish I had the time, setup and skill to customize this to match the deeper yellow and more muted blue of that costume design, because it gives it a rich appearance lost with the brighter yellow and blue.
I hope we get a X-Men: Evolution Wolverine, Astonishing and that show were the X-Men looks I grew up with so it would be nice to finally have good figures of both
Astonishing by Whedon is my favorite X-Men run of all time-and this is a fantastic looking representation of Cassaday’s work. I wish he had a boot cut, but aside from that, this is my definitive Wolverine.
I love Logan aka Wolverine because he is always the best at what he does and while I may not have this so cool figure, I will try to get him because I really like the head sculpts which match the art work and will go great with the team, Overall, Very great review on this new dope Astonishing X-MEN Wolverine action figure Robo
That Ord stands up! Don't listen to the hater in the video!. If anything, could be smoothed down with fine sandpaper but of course would then need a repaint but at a glance, the proportions and costume and head are all great work!
your custom tweaks on this figure are phenomenal! such little details that really make a difference as far as the feel goes for an astonishing wolverine. well done my friend
Awesome review my friend. I really like this new wolverine. I guess it works in a few displays as well as astonishing X-Men he can also fit into a New Avengers display as this is the costume he used during that run. That may even be where the yellow rectangles on the gloves and boots came from thinking about it, and with a new Luke Cage coming out, skrull queen Spider-woman and the new iron man it makes sense.
As a huge fan of not only the Astonishing lineup but the individual costumes, seeing you get rid of the squares was like being able to let out a sneeze. It might of been Romita Jr in the Enemy of the State storyline who first added them, but I just never warmed up to those things.
Great review my friend, astonishing is right up there with Giant sized and Jim Lee blue and gold as my favorite looks... And I do like the original ultimate X-Men as well 🤗
Love this rendition of him and that the ML line are moving towards the invisible joint pins aesthetic like the Mafex figures, It's always threw me being able to see the ports on almost every joint and now it's looking like that might be a thing of the past finally.
I'm glad you mentioned the yellow rectangles! I thought I was going crazy, because I don't remember seeing those in the comics *at all!* I guess now I'm gonna be waiting for this to be reused to make the Utopia era Wolverine suit. I dunno, the complete lack of yellow on the gloves and boots and the X "badge" just makes it feel more... uniform-y, which I like. I'd take a Utopia Cyclops too.
I remember seeing them back then and thinking "why add those to promo material?" or on the alternate covers. I chalk it up to different artists wanting to do a little extra spin on it, or higher ups wanting a little more pizazz since the designs did have a.....minimalist feel, especially after the 90s looks and the movie/new leathers.
@@RoboDontKnowI'm a youngun, so I've only ever read Astonishing in trade, which probably doesn't help with this, haha! The minimalist, more basic look is why I like the Astonishing look to begin with! Man... Hasbro gotta release this guy again without the squares, right? *Right?!*
Great review! I reckon they’ll push astonishing out quicker than we think, considering we’ve got three already. The unmasked head is amazing. I usually have all my wolverines masked up but this one… I think he needs to let those sideburns fly!
I love this. Astonishing X-Men 1-12 are among my favorites. But I gotta say.. the head.. I prefer the Toy Biz look. That head looks exactly like the comics. I do see what you are saying with this head. It DOES look like that Kitty/Colossus morning after scene, but I don't know.. it just feels off.
Was looking forward to this and it didn’t disappoint I really like the figure but I also wanted something more Cassaday flavored- mainly with the headsculpt. I want to get a custom one like that, it looks pretty much perfect
Just got my Astonishing Wolverine couple days ago & im VERY happy with it. I am hoping to get a Brown Suit Wolverine on the new pinless body in the upcoming Secret Wars wave.
My favorite wolverine figure ever. Soooo so so good. One of marvel legends best imo. Enjoying it more than the mafex when i had that one. I just wish it included a stoic masked head too
Highly anticipating your custom to this! I don’t like the arms and legs, the older bucks are WAY more detailed and the musculature looked much better with proportions. You see better separation between bicep/tricep/shoulder with the love traingle/hot claws Wolvie.
It's kinda funny that you wanted to remove the yellow rectangles, while I wanted Hasbro to include them on the inner side of the boots as well. We have a different overall mental image of this design.
I have no interest in the Astonishing team BUT this is the costume that’s used for Marvel vs Capcom 3, glove and boot overlays and all, so I’m glad they included them here. Just had to swap out the head sculpt for a tiger stripe Wolverine since his cowl in MVC3 is bigger. Yellows are close enough.
Seeing Astonishing next to the X-Men '97 really makes me hope they do a repaint of '97 with a color scheme that is more close to this Astonishing release. I get that the off-blue is probably more accurate to X-Men '97 but it's hard to pass it off Jim Lee era Wolverine with the color differences.
This is one where Robo does know. Great review. I was really onboard with this figure until I saw that it has no boot swivel. Does it hinder the crouching poses that much? Thank you!
old Colossus and new sculpy Kitty should be a 2 pack (with a Lockheed of course) because Kitty is tiny and there isn't alot but a 2 pack would be good value for money I reckon. People like me who don't have a Colossus yet could get him and her Astonishing costume would fit in alot of displays.
Best wolverine since the tiger stripe animated series in general plus the buck needs to be used in every newly released wolverine from now on this figure is my favorite wolverine

With no boot swivel I had to customize a McFarland black ankle joint and some more mods to add articulation range to the torso and hips, trimmed the neck and shaved those love handles to give better Vcut visuals and lastly I put the 90 red Jim Lee XMen belt,...chefs kiss with other head sculpts, not those it came with.
For another head with the smaller hair spikes maybe try the more trimmed Mezco wolverine head from their most recent tiger stripe one Only issue is it may be a bit big
And not make it so deep so that the pivot point is higher, allowing for more movement. It's probably a safety thing though, or to keep it from popping out with the head.
@@RoboDontKnow any sort of 'for safety' stuff just annoys me too. Like, when these basic figures reach the 30 price point (because we know they will in the next few years) are we still going to be perpetuating this farce that they are kids toys that need this safety crap.....
Doesn't matter if it's meant for kids or not, if it's sold in retail store in the kid's toy aisle section, and these are, they adhere to a certain set of safety standards.
I'm not a fan of Astonishing X-men story, but this is a cool costume. A modern update that stays close to the classic. I''ve got a pretty big Marvel Legend Wolverines collection now. I'm getting these eventually. I'm going to use the blue claw hands on all my tiger striped Wolverines. Thanks for the playday section at the end. Lots of people do reviews, but not a lot show how they intend to display their figure. Is it really a Cassidy designed costume? JRJR used a very similar design in Wolverine: Enemy of the State. Diffrent boots, but I thought that was the debut of that costume?
Just unboxed my own an hour ago and I think it’s great. I saw one person complaining that the cowl should be yellow and blue instead of yellow and black, but the black just looks more accurate to wolverine in general. Plus, most of the comic looks have the cowl very shaded, so the blue is so dark that it looks black. Most people don’t even notice that, and I didn’t either until it was pointed out. The only improvement I would have liked to see was a boot cut.
I've attempted several customs of this costume through the years and have noticed the blue cowl (and belt in some cases) but yeah, it just never looks right in figure form. It's always heavy shaded, but that's also true about the blue on the costume.
I'm envy you (in a good way) that you can afford two of these, in Brazil we can barelly have one. The price here is like if you pay $299 for a $24,99 figure. Its crazy man. I do this comparisson because I went to US and the figures costs less than a regular meal, mostly. A regular meal in Brazil its like $40-50 bucks and the figure sometimes go above $300.
I was pretty happy with the head Hasbro gave us until I saw your custom. The version of the mask Cassaday drew in the pages is inded better than the cover variants.
The brown Wolvie is my faves. Can I get one with decent arm hair? I also like the stocky look. He can be under 5.75” and wider. Then the shoulder ball joints can be a bit more round and make him a feisty ball of pain. The shoulder guards are ok. It reminds me of the pads ladies used in their blouse in the 90s. One day maybe in like 8-9 days I’ll see this.
I regret ordered this from Hasbro pulse. Delivery date is in October??? They changed the date again! Before it was July, then September and October! Is it because I live in Italy?
I think that’s the problem with most newer Legends. At 6:15 you mention the dumbbell. I think they sink it too far into the neck and make the stick too long. I think it would be better to have a shorter stick and have the neck ball higher.
I agree, that's what I say every time they do it. I can only think they go that deep because it's sold in the kid's aisle and must adhere to those safety standards.
They also should have given him black foot pegs instead of blue. When you point the feet down it breaks up the black stripe on the boot. They did it correctly on the 97 Wolverine.
This is my favorite X-men team of all time and designs I have so much nostalgia for this the 2000s was my favorite era of marvel and this dude is perfect imo I had almost zero blemishes on my copy and no qc . I hope they round out the team with a 3 pack of colossus , kitty , and beast
Unfortunately my astonishing X-men cyclops' arm snapped off while posing it a few weeks after i got it.. unfortunate, but ill be getting the wolverine soon so i hope the same doesnt happen
Hope they go back to the classic brown. I like the claws on this version.
Yup, new articulation scheme, claws finally sorted out, time to redo ALL the Wolverines!

Does yours have any paint transfer from the blue on the side to the under arm?
Does anyone know how to get up with fanplastic four to get a head. I have been wondering because his heads look so much better
Are you asking how to get a head from them?
@@ProtoArrow yes
They also should have given him black foot pegs instead of blue. When you point the feet down it breaks up the black stripe on the boot. They did it correctly on the 97 Wolverine.
Hmmm, very true.
What’s a good cheap camera for reviewing
This is my favorite X-men team of all time and designs I have so much nostalgia for this the 2000s was my favorite era of marvel and this dude is perfect imo I had almost zero blemishes on my copy and no qc . I hope they round out the team with a 3 pack of colossus , kitty , and beast
Those 3 for sure, no exceptions. And then Armor, somehow.
I hope hasbro gives us a non blue fur beast plus the version you customized. 🤞🏿🤞🏿🤞🏿🤞🏿
Oh yeah, I want ALL the Beasts. Original human form with X-Factor variants, blue, gray, AXM, New, all of them.
Are in my humble opinion I believe every Marvel Legends wolverine figure needs metal claws it just looks good
Did it come out bc I don’t see it on Amazon
Unfortunately my astonishing X-men cyclops' arm snapped off while posing it a few weeks after i got it.. unfortunate, but ill be getting the wolverine soon so i hope the same doesnt happen
Whered you get the Batman Beyond Shirt?
Ever considered using a toothpick to apply a tiny amount of UV resin to the eyes?
No, for that I usually use a tiny brush and some future floor wax.
