Bio -
Phil Daru is the Head trainer for some of the top athletes in the world and creator of Daru Strong Training Systems and founder of Daru Strong Performance Center. Daru has degrees in sports medicine and exercise science from Alabama State University where he played division 1 football. Holding certifications with Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) Certified Functional Strength Coach (CFSC) Functional Range Movement Specialist (FRCms) and Kabuki Movement Specialist (NSCA-KMS).
Daru then began a career in MMA and turned professional at 21 years old where he then developed his own systems for training fighters. Daru has also competed in strongman, bodybuilding, and Bjj Gi and No Gi and currently competes in powerlifting. He has worked with well over 200 plus fighters including world champions like Joanna Jedrzejczyk, Dustin Poirier, Edson Barboza, Junior Dos Santos, Frankie Edgar, Tecia Torres, King Mo Lawal, Andrei Arlovski and many others. Coach Daru is a two time award winning Trainer of the Year for the Florida MMA Awards and Nominated for the Trainer of the Year for the World MMA Awards. He has been globally recognized for his contributions in combat sports performance and has traveled to over 10 countries teaching and mentoring. T push up (push up with an extended arm at the end ) 8 reps

Farmers carry 3 rounds of 60 seconds
Neck bridge holds 3 rounds

What works without streroids?? Can't and won't take anyone seriously fitness and nutrition wise that juices. It's strait cheating. People aren't dumb we know whose juicing

As an Armored Combat fighter, Grip, Core, and Neck strength and endurance are 1000% a must have. With a 20 pound helm on your head, and head rips always around the corner, you got to be ready for everything. And don't forget having to keep ahold of your axe, sword, or mace.This video was perfect. Thanks, Daru

That push and pull with the medicine ball looks like a nice progression from the "archers principle ", bow and arrow technique Dr Mcgill has in Back Mechanic. Overall great video recommendations and instruction..gonna add some in to my routine. Thank you

Great vids brother! I’m wanting to start either Muay Thai or BJJ. If you had to choose one, which do you think is more effective for self defense?
That’s a tough one but it depends on you and what you gravitate towards some people are more prone to close quarters combat and prefer grappling some people don’t like to go to the ground at all and for that I would choose MT but perfect my takedown defense. All in all self defense should be first to identify risk and find a way out of the situation all together. After that it is good to make sure the person is not armed with any weapons if those are out of the question then I would take the time to learn proper striking techniques but be competent on the ground if it goes there.
I stole a lot of your workouts to create a Frankenstein program. It is a lot of fun.
So you would probably do this routine on days where you're not shadowboxing or doing bag work, correct?
