    Nice work. I have done those Ford trucks. The gaskets are soft and not tight. It's easy to do a two stage. Just a preference.

      Absolutely. Bottom load has been my preference but use two stage from time to time when I have to. Thanks!

    Great job! Not saying you did this wrong, but you didn’t have to remove all of that hardware to take the seal out. I’m sure you realize that but if not. It could save you some time? I usually take the time saved and tape the inner and outer window seals with house tape. I noticed this gave me a more consistent cleaner install but that was my issue, not yours lol.
    Keep up the good work and content. Fun to watch!

      Thanks for the feedback! For a long time I didn’t even think to try the top edge first but have on some more recent installs. Ford for sure and noticed on the new Wagoneer it worked that way too.
      Now I look back and think dang I could have been saving all kinds of time 🤣

    I’ve seen a lot of people ‘shrink’ the tint from the outside first and then put it on from the inside. I noticed in this video you didn’t do that. Any reason why? Thanks! Looking to tint my f150 myself and looking for any tips. Great video

      @@Yerboytroy253 Hey, thanks! For anyone who is installing the tint with a 2-step method, it is common to pre shrink as it allows the bottom edge of the tint to be tucked into the bottom gasket.
      My preference is to bottom load the tint first by pulling back the top of the door panel and removing the gasket. With that out of the way, heat can then be applied inside during install and not required ahead of time outside since the gasket is out of the way.
      On your F150, it is very easy to pull back the top edge of the door panel, possibly removing a few fasteners first (behind side mirror cover trim), and slide out the gasket for ease of access. Be sure to cut a good 1/4” extra on the sides and a full 1” extra on bottom beyond your markings outside as the gaskets are deep on Fords and ensures the edge of the film is not exposed when installed inside.

      @@TunersCanvas thank you for the reply! Great reply by the way. I saw one of your videos was a 2021+ f150 with the big screen! I have a 2021 as well so that video is going to help me tremendously. Thank you again. One more question, I do not have a board to cut the tint like you do. Can a piece of cardboard work while cutting around the outline that I made?

      @TunersCanvas  21 день тому +1

      @@Yerboytroy253 Awesome. Appreciate the feedback!
      For cutting, cardboard might be tricky. I’d suggest a hard surface. The cut board I’m using is an old patio door. I’ve also used a sunroof glass, or window in the garage.
      If you’re cautious, low angle and light pressure with a stainless blade, you could cut on the side window of the truck as well.

    I great video,I have the same truck 2023 , I live in Virginia law says 50% on front doors and anything on back doors,what would you recommend and where to get it at I may try do myself,,thanks

      You definitely have some options.
      Could just go with the 50 up front and leave the factory privacy as is, which usually measures something around 18. Therefore, if you place 18 up front it would provide a uniform look all around, but below the legal limit for the fronts.
      If you place an added layer over the rear it can add the UV protection and additional privacy. Something lighter like 35 or even 18 isn’t too bad at night for driving. Placing 5 will provide the most privacy, but also the most difficult to see at night when backing up (reverse cameras can assist that though).

    How do you not pinch the tint when it folds I get wierd creases in the middle when sliding it in.....

    • @TunersCanvas
      @TunersCanvas  Рік тому +1

      Seem to happen often or on occasion? With my arm under the film to support while adjusting the bottom, the film isn’t completely folding over itself. Not sure if there’s any relevance but I’m using a 1.5 mil Carbon film that seems to feel thicker and therefore less prone to creases, but maybe you’re using the same.

    Great video, what brand of tint did you use? Also, to estimated price you charged?

      I have been installing SunTek film for a number of years. Started with Standard Pro line and now only offer Carbon and Ceramic. Generally asking $90 for front two windows in the SunTek Carbon.
