  • In this video I show you the way I cut the front roll up windows on the Ford F-150, F-250, F-350, F-450 trucks. Some people really struggle with getting these cuts clean but if you do it this way you shouldn't have too much trouble getting these to come out clean. I also mention a couple of other ways you can do this as well. I hope this video helps someone out!
    Keep Tinting!

    Hi when you do that window you can remove the sweeps and then bottom load it so you will be below the seal.

    • @fastlanecarcarellc3608
      @fastlanecarcarellc3608  2 роки тому

      You sure can. You can also tuck it below the seal when two staging as well. I have never had an issue with film peeling on these. But then again I use a high quality film. Perhaps if someone is using a cheaper film with a weaker adhesive, that could cause it to peel.

    Thanks, helps me with doing my 2001 F350 front windows, I thought I may have had to remove the door card but now I know I dont.

    11:50...cutting on glass...yes you might not scratch it...but you might etch it...don't know if that aftermarket glass is soft or not till it's to late...use the back door glass to round your edges...that way if you etch it blame it on the last guy...ever tried putting the pattern upside down when u peel it...no fingers touching the film...tint guy named Wolf taught me that back in 1994 was doing that ever since..."Lady complained that her car was all wet after a tint job...tinter went out to look at it and said sorry ma'am your car is wet but we were out of the dry water we had to use the wet water"...gotta million of'em...

      I use stainless blades and have never had a problem with etching or scratches. Carbon blades will definitely scratch easily. If I had a peel board I would put them upside down but my fingers don't touch the adhesive the way that I peel them. I also dry off my door panels before I let the car go. I would like to get some carpet shield to use to cover the doors though just to reduce the risk on sensitive materials and save time having to clean up the water.

      Yeah I do the same. They are pretty easy but the bottom tends to give new tinters some trouble, which is why I made the video.

    May I ask what kind of sprayer/keg you’re using? Or do you prefer another kind this time around?

    • @fastlanecarcarellc3608
      @fastlanecarcarellc3608  8 місяців тому

      Sundistributingdirect.com for the tint keg. Can't recommend it enough! I'm running dual brass fan tip sprayers, dual in line filters on mine if you want an exact copy.

    Stupid question maybe but will all that water/soap used during install drain out eventually?

    • @fastlanecarcarellc3608
      @fastlanecarcarellc3608  Місяць тому

      @@thefoildesigner yes. Doors have drain holes to drain rain water. This is no different. It sucks when your foot finds the drain while you're working. 🤣

      @@fastlanecarcarellc3608 Got it! Is it the same solution you use to clean the window and do this installation? baby soap, isopropanol and water?

    • @fastlanecarcarellc3608
      @fastlanecarcarellc3608  13 днів тому

      @thefoildesigner I don't use baby soap or alcohol. Back then I used dish soap but now I use fusion all type. If you use alcohol in your slip solution, the tint will try to stick faster. If a window is really dirty, I scrub it with glass cleaner and a blue scrub pad. If it has a hydrophobic coating (water beads on the glass when it's sprayed) I use a product called rewind to raw from sundistributingdirect.com to remove that coating, it will make the tint try to instantly stick if you don't remove it. It can also cause the tint to fail prematurely.

    Can you still shrink the tint if you flip it 180⁰??

    • @fastlanecarcarellc3608
      @fastlanecarcarellc3608  11 місяців тому

      Yeah. Tint can only shrink towards the factory edges so if you flip it 180 you will be fine, but if you flip it 90* you will ruin it. Unless of course you shrink sideways towards your factory edges.

    Do fingers not appear when cutting out the bottom template ?

    • @fastlanecarcarellc3608
      @fastlanecarcarellc3608  Рік тому

      Depends on how you cut it. These windows don't require shrinking if you lay the film correctly. But you can snap shrink them if you want.

    So why are people taking off door panels now do you really have too

    • @fastlanecarcarellc3608
      @fastlanecarcarellc3608  Рік тому

      Some people prefer to "bottom load" their tint, and the easiest way to do that is to remove the door panel/window sweep (seal) but on these, I just don't feel that it is necessary. Everyone has their own ways of doing things though.
