Hey, Tom. I'm sad that that is the end of the adventure series, can't wait for the next one. Good inspiration for getting a bunch together and going through southern Africa. Anyways, really enjoyed the vids, the only channel which I would habitually put the quality as high as my bandwidth could handle for each episode! All the best, hope the leg heals quickly. Intro was tops.
Enjoyed every minute of the 17 episodes. Pretty jealous of what you have in the garage and what great Adventure country Australia is! ;) - hope the foot is good soon and excited to see which bike is the next.
I would just like to say this has been the only series on UA-cam in 8 years that has kept me coming back asking "When is the next episode?!" Seriously, this looked so awesome and I really enjoyed the entire series! Until next time
Sorry to hear about your leg. Started following you after watching the previous Simpson adventure and this series. Really enjoying it. Keep up the great work and get well soon mate.
Wow 2 hours with that pain You are a real man Tom! When I broke my wrist, the 30 min of waiting on the ambulance was the sickest pain I've ever had I wish you a good convalescence man The adventure trip series was great Keep up the good videos and much love since over 2 years from germany :)
Wow what a great series , I lost the front end of a Ktm 530 over a jump in the bush , fractured four bones in my foot , had to ride 5 km back to camp and then didn't go to hospital for 20+ hours it was stupid to do but now I have scars , plates and screws and a cracked helmet to remember it by , for the fun I have riding it was totally worth it !
Nice one Tom it's good to hear you're not thinking of packing it all in and calling it quits. I can't wait for the next adventure and to see the new bike/bikes for the 2017 season. I hope your leg heals up well so you can get back out on the bike asap.
I did about 4500 km in two weeks on my WR250R. I have the same Safari tank - works great as long as the second fuel pump is primed. It's a great little adventure bike! Make sure you get a windshield too.
I personally LOVED your adventure videos. While I do also like the normal vlogs, the adventure stuff is more unique and fun to what other youtubers do. I gotta say, your observation of animals is absolutely superb, "piggies!!!! come here piggies!!!" xD I also enjoyed the intro to the videos, where every vlog I would be sitting there hoping to see another clip that was present in the intro. By the end of it all, in the intro, i would go "yep, saw that, yep that too...." Overall, really liked this series!
I feel for you Tom, I know what it's like to break a bone or 2 on a motorbike ride, I had a shoulder reconstruction about 5 months ago, probably can't ride a bike for another 4-5 months. Get well soon mate.
man I love hearing about the aftermath and your great outlook on things! your so right about everything about adventuring. Man that emergency services girl standing over you was pretty fit! I'm glad your doing well man!
exactly! my mates rav about euro trips but all they did was get pissed and go on bus trips! i would way rather do what you did! awesome awesome trip man loved every episode! so good!
Stumbled upon your chan, awesome vids man! Got my first adventure bike, went out to a small 120 Mile adventure ride that the AMA hosted and dropped my bike twice on some gnarly dry creek bed areas. Broke it in the right way hehe.
Trip was awesome man, glad you videoed it and shared it. Hope the foot/leg heals well for you. I think the AT would suit those long trips to nowhere really well. Reliability, somewhat light weight for the class, made for actual offroading. I was kind of hoping you kept the ute and stuck a giant blower up through the hood on it and tucked drag wheels in the rear tubs. Would have been a perfect commuter.
I envy you Tom. All those cool bikes and adventures. I live in europe so I cant do much of any type of adventure riding like you guys did (thst I know off) and I have a Suzuki SV650 so I'd have to rent a proper adventure bike. But its on the list thanks to these videos. Thanks for these vids and good luck with the leg man!
I loved the adventure videos, thanks so much for doing them. I like the idea of a Africa Twin or maybe a Triumph Tiger as your next adventure bike, anything but a GS 1200... I know they are great but enough already... I hope your leg gets better soon so you can bring on more videos! Ride safe
Husqvarna 701! Just like the 690 (I know they are owned by the same company now), I also realize that its somewhat the same engine from the 690 but it's a Husqy. It fits your needs and doesn't hurt to take a look at it.
Hey tom I wanted to let you know, your a great UA-camr! I love your vids, even though you don't post everyday. Keep it up and try and to more with your WR250R!
One heck of a time you and the 690 had Tom. sorry but it's kinda funny how it almost didn't like you. Sounds like it had quite the character haha. Love your work mate!
Almost everybody has seen the paved roads in Tasmania but very few have seen the off road side of it. There are a few of them around, not sure on how long they are though. But you could possibly do the Tassie trail on motorbikes.
I completely understand you feeling the loss of your BMW. But that black Blade is a beauty mate. Having had an 09 Blade for a while, the lack of rider modes in a way I found nice. Just you and the clutch, throttle, and brakes. Great linear power delivery I found, very sure footed around the twisties. Lovely handling bike, it ain't no slouch either. A really well sorted sportsbike. Often overlooked for more glamorous European bikes. Sorry about your injury looks and sounds (bones sticking out) nasty man. Get well soon.
I enjoyed a lot watching the trip ! And how about the new 701 enduro with the new engine of 73HP ? Test road that engine with a duke R and man that was good ! they did a good job for this last generation of motors. And now with husqvarna you can have bags attached to it, and an exta tank with more capacity.
Yes, normal videos again! Liked the adventure! But seemed so long since a normal video and also waiting for the fireblade! But why not the blade to work instead of the 390?
Two bikes will come out in th enext year or so, one more likely than the other: the Yamaha Tenere 700 (T7) and the KTM 790 adventure (or whatever it will be called). Either one should be lighter than the Africa Twin. I'm betting on these two bikes, from Yamaha and KTM, as the next yard stick for adventure riding. Just a thought.
So awesome adventure love all your videos finally finished watching cape york adventure video hehe 16 videos was pretty was great experience hehe for you and your audience!! Btw Every night out there can you see the stars? Cuz you have had some nice views on your trip but how about at night haha since theres no city lights and shyt
Ah ha I new it you are looking at the Africa twin, I mentioned it at the start of the year. Awesome series both adventure runs are good watching but didn't know you had trouble with the 690 on the first run. Oh well she's gone now time for the twin...... When your leg gets better do a review on it you will like, very balanced and nimble off road. Can't wait to see more vids keep it up. I know you can vlog while you pillion behind your girlfriend..... Lol
I couldn't help but laugh when you said you broke your leg. After your huge trip and all the spills and croc adjacent camping you do something like come off at low speed and have your bone poking out of your leg. HA. Take care, dude. And keep the videos coming!
Hey TOM i'm not disappointed theres no episode 17 but you a donut for braking your leg hope it heals soon so you can make more vids also im currently bikeless as had accident sep time bikes a write off but wondering what you reckons best to get next drz4 EXC4 WR450 or CRF450X? :D cheers
get deal with BMW for a GS! you've done so much together and are a pretty good marketing place for them. maybe there can be a deal. would be amazing if that would work. keep it up mate. love the videos!
Great Aussie adventure video Tom.. you still looking for a new adventure bike? on par with your old 690 but lighter, nimble, heaps of grunt, superquick and FUN...which bike? try a KTM 500 exc..add a loop bag, bigger tank, adventure tyres, even a comfy seat...done. ....no I'm not a ktm rep, just a happy 500 owner.
Not anymore Tom, in 1985 ( was then 34) I rode big K's on a brand new $2500 Honda XL600R,at that time the closest to an adventure bike, was indeed a capable bike but back then would have gladly swapped the 146kg beast for my 112kg 2014 500exc and 20kg lighter than a WR250R!.The choice of adventure bikes now is huge but when you get to being an old geyser like me,you'll probably find light is best. 500 exc will handle 5000k plus.If you have'nt already, refer to Aussie Adam Riemann of Motology films.."Motonomad 1 and Motonomad 2" great 500 exc adventure films.Enjoy your movies Tom,your loyal mates proved to be your best support on your Cape York adventure. ...excellent.
Thanx for some very entertaining adventures. I was considering a KTM for my next bike, but after seeing at least four failed adventures due to mechanical shortcomings on 690's and 1190 I feel the Japanese brands may deliver better reliability. Since I have no previous KTM experience, maybe you can share an opinion or two on the subject.
So sad, that the 690 is gone. Such an awesome bike. And very much like a beautiful woman. There are just two emotional states and nothing in between. Passionate love. And fury. Not to make things difficult Tom, but have you seen the specs on the 2017 Husky 701????
Joe Wunderlich Hey Joe, I own the 2016 690 R as well and had the chance to test the 701. We all know that both bikes is has the same DNA but I kind like the 690 a bit more from the handling. I had the feeling that it was more compact and slightly more aggressive.... But all in all the same bikes with a little nicer color for the Husky ;)
In one of his videos he explains it, he's some sort of computer programmer / engineer. Very boring stuff, as he describes it(he literally said that), that's why he has to compensate with riding and doing stupid shit.. :)
Ah right on, glad theres more hardcore fans than myself :) yeah that kind of work certainly dose pay the bills, nice you can do it away form the office as well.
Now i see Why You have had only one type of video i was about to say maybe change up the schedule with some road bikes and stuff. well still love ur vids !!
Made me laugh, I swapped out my first rocker arm at 6,000 miles, and plan to probably do so every 6k, that's definately the weak link on the LC4! Forums are full of rocker arm photos and swaps on that bike, so I'm just being preventive with the swap. Since you first said the 690 was going, and had engine troubles, I knew that's what it was!
If you had to pick the most RELIABLE bike you've ever owned or could own, what would it be? By reliable I mean wouldn't leave you on side of road. Thanks. Great videos!!
"It's great when it works." The words uttered by so many KTM owners over the years! LOL
great stuff, I really enjoyed the whole series, thanks
Hope the leg heals up well mate.
I liked the adventure series a lot, one of the best ADV adventure series on youtube I think.
Keep up the good work

This is one of the series I have actually watched all the way through man
Nice one Tom it's good to hear you're not thinking of packing it all in and calling it quits. I can't wait for the next adventure and to see the new bike/bikes for the 2017 season. I hope your leg heals up well so you can get back out on the bike asap.

Loved the adventure series! A 300 two stroke would be the ultimate!
should have kept the flame ute, it was pretty badass
Grandpa Ketsis I think you commented on the wrong one
Nick5220 - doesn't he have the subaru??
BeastBlack270 yes but the ute was better
Agreed, but maybe Tom didnt have enough space for two cars.
Nick5220 - oh sorry my bad m8
excellent video series, really appreciate all the effort that went into filming, editing, uploading etc. look forward to your next adventure series.
I love my Africa Twin :P
And your intro is awesome, I really enjoyed every single of your episode and the intro was just perfect
iSlander amen to That haha
I personally LOVED your adventure videos. While I do also like the normal vlogs, the adventure stuff is more unique and fun to what other youtubers do. I gotta say, your observation of animals is absolutely superb, "piggies!!!! come here piggies!!!" xD

I feel for you Tom, I know what it's like to break a bone or 2 on a motorbike ride, I had a shoulder reconstruction about 5 months ago, probably can't ride a bike for another 4-5 months. Get well soon mate.
+Aussie Springbok I'm sure you could ride a road bike! I was riding 2 weeks after my surgery !
I can only lift my arm up to shoulder height and lift nearly 1 kg..
the intro is stuck in my head, great series! loved it!
Just want to say I love the adventure videos and I am looking forward to more in the future.
Did the same to my leg martial arts training. Physio is not much fun but gets everything working again.. Good luck!
man I love hearing about the aftermath and your great outlook on things! your so right about everything about adventuring. Man that emergency services girl standing over you was pretty fit! I'm glad your doing well man!
That faithful Mt Baw Baw ride.. we were jealous of the good looking paramedics but not so jealous of the pain! Man that was a long day.
+Germaingazm yes those paramedics were amazing, mainly because of the awesome drugs they gave me
If anyone is interested in what one of the shown drugs Tom was given actually is, Look up Methoxyflurane. Commonly called the Green Whistle.
You weren't letting go of that green whistle! We all wanted a shot of it :)
+Benelenium gooooood shit
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Methoxyflurane
exactly! my mates rav about euro trips but all they did was get pissed and go on bus trips! i would way rather do what you did! awesome awesome trip man loved every episode! so good!

sad to hear the trip is over loved the vids but than again love the normal stuf to hope you get a good recovery mate peace
Trip was awesome man, glad you videoed it and shared it. Hope the foot/leg heals well for you. I think the AT would suit those long trips to nowhere really well. Great work man! Truly a story to remember! Glad you're still keen for more!
Such an amazing series! Been binge watching it from the start!
Thanks for the update and the series of vids. Get your girls to drive a support vehicle and conquer the Simpson as a coed adventure!
You have had a roller coaster of a ride this year haven't you buddy! I hope the foot gets better fast!
I loved the adventure videos, thanks so much for doing them. I like the idea of a Africa Twin or maybe a Triumph Tiger as your next adventure bike, anything but a GS 1200... I know they are great but enough already... I hope your leg gets better soon so you can bring on more videos! Ride safe
I love keeping my crashed helmets, it's like a little time capsule and momento to a specific bike or a time where my skills weren't the best :P
Husqvarna 701! Just like the 690 (I know they are owned by the same company now), I also realize that its somewhat the same engine from the 690 but it's a Husqy. It fits your needs and doesn't hurt to take a look at it.
It's literally the same bike lol little design tweaks yeah but he's after something different
the 701 is not the same engine. You wont find any 701 owners with Rocker arm problems. 690 owners heaps of em have the rocker arm problem.
@@JinKazama92 it's the same engine mate. Fixed some issues but that's it.
Compared to the 690 it really is essentially the same thing
lovin the wr as a little adventure bike! perfect reliable and light weight! hope your foot gets well soon mate!!
Nice WoW CE collection you got there, jelly of the BC CE. Can't wait for more vids!
Solid effort with the leg.
Hey tom I wanted to let you know, your a great UA-camr! I love your vids, even though you don't post everyday. Keep it up and try and to more with your WR250R!
+Ghost Squad thanks man!
What a brilliant series, I'm truly inspired to tackle the Cape, not sure on the Old Telegraph Track tho...
One heck of a time you and the 690 had Tom. sorry but it's kinda funny how it almost didn't like you. Sounds like it had quite the character haha. Love your work mate!
BROO THATS CRAZY glad you came out the end of it intact
Almost everybody has seen the paved roads in Tasmania but very few have seen the off road side of it. There are a few of them around, not sure on how long they are though. But you could possibly do the Tassie trail on motorbikes.
Get Adventure... very inspiring... get well soon Tom. And ya, I ride a D390, it's a great bike. Cheers!
Nice job on the adventure series. Really enjoyed it and look forward to your next adventure.
I completely understand you feeling the loss of your BMW.
But that black Blade is a beauty mate. Having had an 09 Blade for a while, the lack of rider modes in a way I found nice. Just you and the clutch, throttle, and brakes. yep, that's a distal fibula and tibial malleolus Fx, looks like the Ortho did a fine job. hope you heal up alright Tom
A good trip to watch.really enjoyed it. I can't wait for the next one.
Also, next bike, go get a BMW 1200 GSA!

Great series mate. Hope your leg is better soon too!
I enjoyed a lot watching the trip !

Props for all the collectors edition WoW boxes!
Love your vids Tom..
I'm sure whatever you buy you'll love.
I still love my KTM 380 exc ..
I only wish it had a electric start.
Loved the series mate
ktm 500 own 5 yrs never a problem been to mitchell falls , cape york wet and dry season
yo tom, looking foward to the older styled vlogs where you're just riding around and talking. cheers, keep it up :)
congrats on 200k Tom!
Africa twin is a great idea! You should totally get it, and you know it will tick the boxes easily for reliability and power since it's made by Honda.
Yes, normal videos again! Liked the adventure! But seemed so long since a normal video and also waiting for the fireblade! But why not the blade to work instead of the 390?
Aww I liked the intro :(

no need for a 790 adv when the 950 and 990 are still around and much better. the 950/990 series will always be the best class of adv bikes!
Ohhh the Mt Baw Baw black ice roads... been there done that
So awesome adventure love all your videos finally finished watching cape york adventure video hehe 16 videos was pretty was great experience hehe for you and your audience!! Btw Every night out there can you see the stars? Cuz you have had some nice views on your trip but how about at night haha since theres no city lights and shyt
Hey Tom, let us know next time you go up to Goughs Bay or "The Pines'. Would love to ride dirt bikes with you. Maybe a subscriber dirt bike ride
Great series Tom! Thanks!
Ah ha I new it you are looking at the Africa twin, I mentioned it at the start of the year. pacing back and forth like a caged animal.
lol...yeah you can tell hes bummed out about it...
I couldn't help but laugh when you said you broke your leg. After your huge trip and all the spills and croc adjacent camping you do something like come off at low speed and have your bone poking out of your leg. HA.
Take care, dude. And keep the videos coming!
Great video Tom, you’re an inspiration for many riders to go for such an adventure, would you mind passing the itinerary for us
Thanks
Great series Tom. Looking forward to your next one! Heal up, bud. :)
:D cheers
Good to hear you are doing fine! really liked the adventure video's :)
You really are crazy man Haha! Love your vids keep it up!
"Fricken, fricken, fricken, fricken..." xD
I love the look of the 690 and was thinking that is the way I want to go but after watching this I'm not so sure
Dude ur a freakin champ idk broken bones and shit drive me CRAZY still glad you recovered
get deal with BMW for a GS! you've done so much together and are a pretty good marketing place for them. maybe there can be a deal. would be amazing if that would work. keep it up mate. love the videos!
Thanks for the update great job enjoyed all videos thanks
Great Aussie adventure video Tom.. you still looking for a new adventure bike? on par with your old 690 but lighter, nimble, heaps of grunt, superquick and FUN...which bike? try a KTM 500 exc..add a loop bag, bigger tank, adventure tyres, even a comfy seat...done.
....no I'm not a ktm rep, just a happy 500 owner.
+kim brasier you do 5000km+ trips on a 500exc?
Not anymore Tom, in 1985 ( was then 34) I rode big K's on a brand new $2500 Honda XL600R,at that time the closest to an adventure bike, was indeed a capable bike but back then would have gladly swapped the 146kg beast for my 112kg 2014 500exc and 20kg lighter than a WR250R!.The choice of adventure bikes now is huge but when you get to being an old geyser like me,you'll probably find light is best.
500 exc will handle 5000k plus.If you have'nt already, refer to Aussie Adam Riemann of Motology films.."Motonomad 1 and Motonomad 2"
great 500 exc adventure films.Enjoy your movies Tom,your loyal mates proved to be your best support on your Cape York adventure. ...excellent.
Thanx for some very entertaining adventures. I was considering a KTM for my next bike, but after seeing at least four failed adventures due to mechanical shortcomings on 690's and 1190 I feel the Japanese brands may deliver better reliability. Since I have no previous KTM experience, maybe you can share an opinion or two on the subject.
nice recovery tom
Excellent vids you done there, keep it up.
I know what it's like being busted up and waiting for the ambulance... get better soon dude!
Tom you should get the Ajp Pr7 adventure bike, i think that it it is a nice for you
I smell a KTM 790 upcomming in the future..!
most genuine statement about a KTM... I wouldn't buy it without a warranty, it works good when it works
What do you do for a living? Im curious what allows for your flexibility and money, awesome vids man!
Bank with them insider financing deals.
sorry but, he even got couple of nissan skyline before he start to ride
Anyone remember Leadpin?
dude i was actually thinking about that top bloke this morning when one of my mates said "what it is?"
miss his vids
Does anyone know why he stopped vlogging?
He doesn't have a bike anymore and very busy with work and married life.
he was a fucking legend
Bikes & Drones I thought he said in his last vid that he was going to keep the bike and build his channel back up. Oh, well. Live moves on.
have you had a look at a BMW F800GS? right in between a heavy adventure bike and a dual sport and an awesome bike to ride
+Outdoors Victoria I did 2 days off road training on one. Not really my style. Too heavy and slow. If it's gonna be heavy it better at least be fast.
your videos are soooo good :3 keep it up
Tom loved the adventure series but where are the casual motovlogs?
Hi Tom, you have inspired myself & mates to plan for cape trip 2025. Can I ask what time of year would recommend?
Sorry to hear about the leg Tom. When you're better, come up to the Gramps for a ride ;)
Hope your leg heals up nicely. :) Cheers buddy
Now i see Why You have had only one type of video i was about to say maybe change up the schedule with some road bikes and stuff. well still love ur vids !!

8:04 he has all the World of Warcraft Collector's editions!!
can we get a review on those crutches
+Riding Japan haha I fricken hate crutches
