I lost a friend a week ago. He was like my brother and the one that taught me most of what I know about bikes. He used to travel around the bush looking for places like this on a BMW GS650. I've been looking for a ride for some friends and I to do to honour his memory. I think the Flinders Rangers will be it.
Congrats, boys! I´d love to see a sort of debrief video where you all get together and chat about what you liked, hated, needed and didn´t bring, brought and didn´t need and especially about how the bikes handled it. I´d love to know what it was about the Triumph that made it struggle so much!
Tom I gotta say, this was one of my favorite series I've ever watched on youtube. Thanks for sharing... Reminded me of all the good times I had in Australia! I wanna come back!
Awesome trip dude! I'm sure a journey like this has as much toll on the rider as the bike but they're kilometers well spent, a true Aussie adventure. Cheers for taking us with you all
been watching your vids since you had the Kawasaki and love em. Think the fact that you dont swear all the time makes it much better to watch than others
Great series Tom, thanks for sharing. Great save by Nerb, pure Dakar stuff! By the way, the riding close clips come out real well, though getting pelted with rocks can't be much fun!
Searched for KTM 690 and found this, watched all six parts now. So fun to watch, looked like a great adventure! Some great riding! Also; best ad for KTM 690 ever, now I gotta have one!
+RidingWithTom Maaadddd. P.S. Your videos are sick but this series was the bomb! I would do something like this, but believe it or not, my parents despise me riding a Motorbike (you can guess why). I is jealous.
All and I can say is FRICKEN awesome Tom! Really well done, those bikes sure did cop a caining, and you guys must've been so exhausted by the end. Top job by all.
I did a 3200 mile trip from Washington State to Moab Utah & we rode Moab for 10 days, it was a 15 day trip in total. All on my 2008 KLR650 with 685 big bore kit. Almost 500 miles of offload in total. We took the long way down to Utah & then back the short way. Only thing that happened to my KLR was I bent my left side of my handlebars on a hard crash on the rocks. Would love to ride the dessert like you did some day. I'm thinking of going to Death Valley in a couple years for that dessert riding fix.
Great set of vids covering your awesome trip,so jealous. Agree with some of the comments that a debrief video is needed, what was good what was not etc. Thanks
just spent a lazy Sunday watching , cool series thanks ! . Ive been to a few of those places in my 1972 kombi . not the Simpson desert bit though lol . just subscribed and will check out your north OZ playlist next , My Kombi took me there too .
Amazing adventure, thanks for sharing! Kinda makes me want to get a dualsport instead of a road bike. Also I didn't know that it can get that cold even in Australia. I live in northern Europe, and I've been under the impression that it never gets even close to zero in southern places like Australia.
This great trip. I`ve seen it right now and im very proud for you that you survived it!!! I am a great fan of you an your hardcore-group-friends. Wish i could make a trip like these in europe. I am from Munich, Bavaria, Germany. But also nice is that we have the alps in front of us. Only half an hour and i can crab curves... Like your your youtube channel... lets have more of it. greetingzzzzz Chriz
What an epic fucking adventure dude! Glad you all made it out in one piece. Wish I could say the same for the bikes, but it seems to have been well worth it. Awesome videos!
Great vid!! Crazy planning, 4 litres of water each out there, unbelievable. No rim locks on sand.. Lucky there were 4wds to say what was ahead. Chances are you would have run out of fuel.
Great series of video's , I was smiling all the time and dreaming of my own adventures very soon on my new 1190R who will be arriving withing 2 weeks. I'm driving a duke 690r , putting some off-road tires on the little bike and I could certainly beat that Tiger , lol. In Belgium the 1190R comes with street tires. Let's practice on those first :)
Sad to see it's over. Now the questions; would you take another 690 through a similar trip, or would you use a different motorcycle? If so, what would you want to use next time? Looking forward to seeing your next adventures!
Hey Tom. I've watched now all of the Desert Adventure videos and I just simply have to say that I really enjoyed "following" you around in the outback. I think you guys are a really funny group to hang out with. I would love to one day have an adventure like this one. Btw really nice save Nerb1, I "shat" myself. And if that's not all you own my dream bike, S1000RR :D
Just watched all six videos. F'ing awesome. I'm looking to pick up a enduro and dual sport bike like the Honda Africa, KTM 660, 690 or possibly a 525exc. Got to get something to replace my ol KX500.
i have thoroughly enjoyed this series. well done. apart from the fact that i would probably crash and die out there, this was inspirational to say the least. thumbs up!
