@@lucky4luk He said he's an Engineer.. I'm an Engineer and now a motorcycle Tech / Engineer and I can tell you now that 7200 tonnes is the same as 2,222 Land rover discovery 4s in gross weight which is a heavy vhc..
lol... im just watching this years later... i suspect i just went 20x15x8m high x 3t/m3 = 7200t as some rough number and then just agreed with tom when he said 72 cars. Yeah, 100t cars are a little on the heavy side! haha
yeah, sometimes fuel are dyed to indicate their type (diesel/petrol) and the octane number of the fuel, in my country, yellow color is for 88 octane, blue dye is for 92 octane and red dye is 95 Octane, and i think there's a new type which is 90 octane will be dyed light green, this type is planned to replace the old 88 octane. that's all i know about petrol in my country, idk about the diesel stuff
If it makes you feel better. When I got my 690 enduro it was using 1000ml of oil per 1000ks. After some arguing KTM did a rebuild under warranty (initially wanting to bill me for it if they found nothing wrong). They found an exhaust valve stem seal damaged (appears cut)From factory leaking oil. We're so lucky to have good consumer protection through the ACCC. KTM tried to tell me it's a high performance machine. The KTM shop manual indicates up to 750ml of oil per 1000 ks was normal. After the rebuild uses - no oil
you guys did extremely well packing the 690 down to fit in the crummydore tray. when I first saw the ute I instantly though you'd have to toss the hardlid.
4:30 Jesus Tom, I know you aren't the engineer of the group but still... "7,200 tonnes, so that's, 72 cars?" And genuine engineer Nerb confirmed it, which is rather worrying for his clients haha!
beging from Germany i agree on the no speed limit thing. Its fun for a moment or two but then you get back down to 140 - 160km/h again. can't drive 250 for to long otherwise you screw up and can't concentrate anymore
tyler one he is around the central and south part of Australia ...only the parts of Australia near the coast have mountains and rainforest, but most of Australia is just flat and dry
This is probably the best episode of the series, lot's of the old style RWT chatter and humour. Did you get your quid back on the ute? It must have gone up in value considering it's brief association with fame!
Hey Tom, really liked your series. Looking forward for more. How much did you paid for the ute and for how much did you could sell it again? I wouldnt had even thought about that solution...
+Marty Bartfast we were on a strict deadline and with Sam hurting himself and my bike dying there was no way they could do the Simpson. We all had to motor home.
I was surprised that your companions bikes were still loaded up with gear after you got the ute? You should have taken their luggage in the car man, let them ride light and easy
+tosgem mark put his gear in the ute, Nerb wanted to carry all his gear. I think we wanted to get from the top of Australia to the bottom with zero help
"Zero Fox Given" God that ute must of been the most awkward thing to drive around in lol. Also what was the longest amount of time you spent on the road on one day ?
I couldn't help but laugh when you said you had Chinese tires and then go ripping donuts in the dirt. My first thought was damn, better watch for the blow out. a minute later "The Utes had a blow out." On the outside rear tire where all the tires cutting into the dirt as well.
+River Carson skids in the dirt aren't gonna do anything to the tyres, the ute had cut springs which cause the 20" wheels to wear the inner side of the tyre which caused the blow out. I didn't notice that the back 2 tyres edges were on the canvas until the blow out. Bit awkward that I was doing 250kph the day before...
Ah, understandable. I was looking at the dirt and it seemed kind of rocky which could cause some cuts, but a wearing inner tire will certainly do it too.
Zachary Blake Sam hit his head when he crashed. Sam an Sweetman bought a ute and drove back to Adelaide from the Gulf of Carpentaria. Nerb and I rode back while Tom drove the flame ute
Mark - I didn't appreciate how boring this would have been for you on the way home. Nerb too, but with double the engine and a lot more power. That much highway would have been hell for you. Screw this #nerbforpresident bUlls#!t! Let's elect #Markforpresident
Obviously you came across the now know rocker arm issue with the KTM 690... but have you done with the enduro bike scene? It would be a shame as I've really enjoyed watching you and the guys travel some of the epic sights of Australia. With any luck, Yamaha will build the T7 and other manufacturers will follow suit with the "rally raid" style of bikes on offer. Do you think you would try another journey on something else?
Hey bro ive only just stumbled across your vids an can honestly say there really addictive to watch ive finally caught up on the Adventure excited for the next one rock on bro! sincerely from the UK :D
sweet man i never knew a 690 would fit in there. it sucks getting stuck im a young kid and i normally race motocross and i was riding my KTM65 in the paddoc and i had it pinned then i hit a piece of wire that tangled around my front tire cut a fork guard in half and sliced up my tire. Keep up the Awesome im aussie and your my favourite UA-camr you deserve more subs Keep up the good work!!
Maaaaaan the only ute within 1000 kms looks like that and its a auto ...... the car gods were not smiling on you that day, but the protection from the elements going into SA and Vic would of been nice !!!!
Towing technique for towing a motorcycle,. Never tie rope to the bike being towed ..loop onto the foot peg and hold down with your foot that way you can lift your foot if you get into trouble and release rope... Just saying 😜. Big adventure Tom...
Germaingazm surprised you as a Ford guy didnt talk shit about him driving a Holden. Holden and Ford are basiclly equal in performance and history they are both as historically i watched a documantry about Australian Cars it was awesome to see the old Fords and Holdens
Im starting to see a trend in these videos..... Nerb can Fix anything!
and Tom can break anything
In this episode of RidingWithTom - CagingWithTom, in the V8 "Fuck off we're full" Ute
hahaha, gold
Haha I live in mount isa and I used too see that ute around town
65 cars are 7200 tonnes? Damn, those are some heavy 100+ tonne cars lol
@@lucky4luk He said he's an Engineer.. I'm an Engineer and now a motorcycle Tech / Engineer and I can tell you now that 7200 tonnes is the same as 2,222 Land rover discovery 4s in gross weight which is a heavy vhc..

Hey Tom, I'm a long time fan but never had an early comment. Just wanted to say I love your videos!
+Timothy David thanks man!
"Bike's running on diesel yea?"
"Whaat!?"
i pissed myself laughing
It also looks suspiciously like some water bottles.
Not sure which would be worse, Diesel or Water.

Yazid Arif 88 octane? where is that shit even available?
OMG O.O in my country, but they started to stop the distribution of it and will replace it with the 90 octane one
Going to watch this whole series over again! I love it dude
I usually hate flames on cars/anything, but the ute looks pretty good
Definitely would look better without the hey everybody look at me flames tho
My son aged 7 watched this with me for the first time. Says your rolling commentary is very funny! 😀

We need the Ute here in the states, such a cool car/truck
make one
AcaRa Bombshell lol
Y3arZer0
You have utes don't you? Isn't that what a 'pickup' is?
Pickups are 4x4's. Big Offroading trucks. Back in the 60's and 70's we had them, but there gone now.
Y3arZer0
ford ceased production here recently and Holden will next year..
end of an era mate..
I'm amazed that flame ute doesn't high centre on a pebble
you guys did extremely well packing the 690 down to fit in the crummydore tray.

Was a epic adventure mate, Do you plan on more in the future?

All depends on the driver. A race car driver could stay at that speed for some time. But then again, they're on another level.
Loving this adventure series
Very nice trip guys! But hey, is that a awsome players patch i see on Nerbs shoulder?
I like the way your buddy Nurb does all the work on your stuff while you watch lol 😂
part 16 of 16 mins and 16 seconds...nice.
Illuminati
How did you get away with not having a numberplate on the ute? 🤔
hope you do a tear down of your bike to see what went wrong and a rebuld vid would me much thankfull
Bloody love this series, solid work Tom!
Vauxhall minaro we have tonnes of them here in the uk Tom , top speed of that pick up should be 140 to 155 mph or 249 Kmh
i did really not know that over there in Australia the landscape is so flat. in what region is he driving can SB tell me?
tyler one he is around the central and south part of Australia ...only the parts of Australia near the coast have mountains and rainforest, but most of Australia is just flat and dry
Hot set of wheels you picked up there Tom

Wow i did not expect to like that pickup so much, seems so cool. Keep it
Congrats on 200k mate!

Just curious... Why did your buddies call it a day? Couldn't they have finished the planned trip and sent you home?
+Marty Bartfast we were on a strict deadline and with Sam hurting himself and my bike dying there was no way they could do the Simpson. We all had to motor home.
Fair enough! Still... what an adventure, eh?
Always a nice story.. just depends on how long it is.
I legit think I saw that ute in Horsham a while back.
i didnt understand the ute thing, its a car you buy cheap, use and then sell again? like a rental car?
xNewme _ Sort of. He bought it and drove it back because it was cheaper than having the bike shipped back or whatever.
Hey Tom, I'm really hoping to see an update on the future of the 690 and what happened to it. Is that in the plan? Loving the series!
VacaRider are you for real? lol

Tom you so funny about the 300km on the Ferrari till it burns out and explode and the diesel part HAHA did you do the drifting part?
Btw nerbsan is awesome a lot of respect for him and he seems nice hehe subscribed btw to nerb hehe ✊🏻
Your wheelie skills are impressive

I totally agree with you brother.

What was the failure with the 690???
Love your videos man keep up the good work. Just wondering what video editor do you use?
if you had L's or P's do you still have to do 90km/h on that road?
DownUnderDualSport yeah
DownUnderDualSport I don't think there would be cops so if your parents allowed you, I'm guessing you could do any speed
is this the final part?????
Have you done it already? Do I get invited?
+Nerb1 nar gonna film it like Sunday night
Cool Tnx m8
Are u going to be using the CBR1000R?
Hehe, pretty ute😂 Gunna take it up to the ute muster? The boys won't hang it on you to much😉
This series has been above and beyond, if I had no choice I'd turn gay for Tom. Well done, bloody brilliant.
What month was this in? June/July?
Do you like my wheelie? Stills make laugh.
that road is so cool
Great video Tom. Thats one really fast ute. sorry to here about the bike man, hope you can fix it.

Imagine if Tom couldn't drive stick, haha!
How much was the ute?
I done many a trip to Darwin I never had the open speed limit I had the 130kph but never open:(
Gawd, and even then you get a flat tyre.
Trouble just has a way of finding you.
Although i'd have much preferred to be the ute for that drive home
Wow I didn't know there were camels in Aus
We're the biggest exporters of wild camels to the middle east.
There are approximately 1 to 1.2 million feral camels in Australia, and their numbers are thought to be doubling every 8-9 years.
Tom that a great ute I really want it but I live in perth
Keep up the great work tom your a legend

Why t fuel colour is waterish
Unfortunately they are scrapping open speed limits on November 21 and making it 130 again. What a shame!
is the ute even regoed?
+Lachy nope! Had a permit to drive it for a week
I love these videos.
Please forgive a simple dumb north american, but do you not have normal pickup trucks in australia?
newt not really, we have hiluxs which are close but not as big as the American trucks
we see the occasional F250 or Dodge Ram, but not very often. Most people have smaller single or dual cab utes
newt and we don't call them pickup trucks or truck we call them Utes or 4wds
Most of the time when you see an American Puck-up here, it usually has a For Sale sign on it.
Tom keep up the great vids and make more WR250R Videos. I love your vids and have been watching since you tested the WR450F. Keep it up -Cole
Oh man what an adventure! You're so lucky you actually survived xD I'm really excited abou some CBR Videos mate :D
Sadly our government announced today that our beloved open speed limits in the NT are going effective October.

Lets be honest, at least you had aircon bahahaha
Where and when is your next trip!?
You'd be Fd if something ran out on the roads at them speeds lol
I loved the martian audio book.
