This song changed everything. It took them to the next level. As others have said, PDogg has been with the guys since the beginning and is their main inhouse producer. We even get to see him in the video with Jimin in his Muse album.
PDogg has been with the guys since the beginning. He is part of the core team. Many of which have been there since before debut and are still with them.
This song was a real turning point for BTS. The Most Beautiful Moment in Life Pt 1& 2 are just amazing records and unlike anything I have ever heard before. Part 1 is great but part 2 for me is a masterpiece of an album
Hi Frankie... I really think that you should first finish The Rise of Bangtan, keep watching more MV's, MAMA and MMA's performances and after that start the BU.. Hi Irene!!!! love from Mexico 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
I truly agree, the BU is very deep and intense, I would definitely see more if their main songs and MVs they’ve done first. Programme in house producer writes many songs with BTS like this earlier song but Bts does plenty of their own now also. I do also suggest seen the Official MV too. Great review 👍
Love to hear ‘I need you’ is your favorite song so far, one of mine too. This song won their first MNET countdown award, which you saw in Rise of bangtan, when they put lipstick after winning 😂
Being a music nerd, I love your breakdowns. Being a teen in the 80s, the eras of music you reference take me back. And I love that BTS and their crew pulls from so many different styles. Borahae💜
This song has always been one of my favorites from the first time I heard it,along with Save Me. It is the first time I have seen that performance of it. As usual the camera work at these award shows leaves alot to be desired, for me anyway.😊 Enjoyed your reaction . See you soon.💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Hi Frankie & Irene 😀, I agree with what the other Army's are telling you. Finish watching The Rise of the Bangtan first and you need to watch the MV to I Need You and watch some other performances along the way then, you can start your deep dive into the BU / Bangtan Universe.
Pdogg is BTS's main producer. He is with them from the beginning of their trainee days till today and he made most (if not all I don't now off the top of my head) of their title tracks and many of their B-sides. 14:50 never mind your wife said it
You should watch the MV. It was really shocking for K-pop industry in those days. It was very dark and it started the bangtan universe (BU) lore. They are not representing themselves there but the characters in BU. You should totally make note of BU but you can still follow it through your own timeline. There is no rush. 💜💜💜
I don't know about the other ARMY but I think you should finish the Rise of Bangtan series and in between react to BTS songs and live performance like this one..the best MMA 2019 live performance is the best. Also for your info this song open the road for becoming the most famous band in the world.Borahae.
Mama2019 performance is too soon - he doesnt know the songs yet - the performance has no subs and he will like it so much more if he knows what its about - especially Mikrokosmos and Dionysis.

This song was instrumental in their rise. They turned away from their dark, hip-hop vibe in their sound and look (RM lost the mohawk) to a softer look and sound. They won first place in the music shows for the first time with this song and from The Rise of Bangtan you know how important that is for a group to stay alive.

Make sure you watch the original version, not the shorter censored one 🙏🙏🙏 Keep in mind you're listening to a remix, the actual song isn't so techno (not sure that's the right term but anyway). Also, this will help A LOT and isn't a spoiler for the BU: this MV and the BU don't really have anything to do with a girl!! They chose the word for the sound of it in the lyrics, it sounded better than saying I Need You Friend, just an aesthetic choice! Bring a seatbelt cuz army gets excited when someone new opens up the BU, but don't get pressured, it's perfectly ok to just enjoy the tracks for their own sake 😊💜
I love seeing you smile so big! Makes me smile too & it's a great way to start my morning! Thank you both!!! Haven't heard El DeBarge in a long time, gotta listen to him after I watch your new Rise of Bangtan 💜💜💜
I already watched it more than a week ago but apparently did not leave a comment. So here am I. First, thanks for the reaction as always. Second, this song indicated a shift in BTS sound that eventually helped them to break through. Not that there were any issues with BTS's previous songs but that one caught a lot of attention from the general public. Also PDogg is their in-house producer that is credited in the majority of BTS's songs.
I mean to this day this song is my favorite from all of the ones I have heard so far. No wonder it got them to break through... Irene and I are singing this song all day every day still today.. 🤣🤣
The BU is an entirely fictional story which uses small clips from many many videos to tell the story. It’s not necessary to learn about it but if you do watch the videos about it it will blow your mind that the team had the foresight to plan all of the clues in each video stemming all the way back to 2013/14. The very concept of something like this told using all those music videos is groundbreaking IMO.

What I noticed is that Korean shows are often really bad at mixing sound. Here you could at times barely hear some members and others were too loud. The sound is way better at BTS's own concert because you can hear their voices clearer, the backtrack isn't so loud but they also don't overpower the music.
Your decision, but I've found that the BU videos usually have less choreography and more split stories of the 7 characters storylines! I personally like watching the regular MV, dance practices, and live performances!
I don't mind you watching the BU-related MVs but unless you are trying to interpret the BU, then just superficially watch but focus on the music and lyrics. But for sure you should listen to the original song of "I Need You". If you're going to watch the BU with the intent of interpreting the storyline then do that specifically. It's much more difficult to mix BU-related content (and try to interpret it) while also watching other non-related BU MVs in between. You may get mixed up and be trying to remember this, that, or the other that would not have anything to do with the BU. So if you come across a BU-related video and you want to hear the song, then watch the video with the purpose of listening to the song. But then go back to it when you are really diving into the BU, having already heard the song, you can just focus on the storyline portrayed in the MV. 💜
@@frankiebiggz LOL don't be scared ... it's just a bit difficult to focus on the music, lyrics, visuals, and symbolism all at the same time. Also, after you finish deciphering the clues and draw your own conclusion, there are explanation videos just to get another person's take on it. But I would say do the explanations afterward lest your pure interpretation becomes biased by theirs.
