Windows 365 integration into Windows 11 demonstrated

- What's in store for Windows 365? Get a early look at what’s coming for Cloud PC experiences with Windows 365, including deeper Windows 11 integration with capabilities for booting directly to your Cloud PC, the new Windows 365 app experience, as well as switching from your local device to your Cloud PC. For admins, we’ll show you how setup and management is easy with native, fully cloud managed Azure Active Directory authentication for your Windows 365 Cloud PCs and the new Windows 365 Business simplified admin experience. Scott Manchester, Partner Director PM for Windows 365, joins Jeremy Chapman to share all the Windows 365 updates.
- Windows 365 Boot will allow specialized devices to go from powering on, to logging in directly to your Cloud PC.
- Windows 365 Switch will enable fast desktop switching via the Task View in Windows 11 to move to your Cloud PC and from there back to your local desktop.
- Windows 365 app will be included in a future Windows 11 release and available for Windows 10, which allows you to access your Cloud PCs, manage and troubleshoot them.
- Windows 365 Offline in the future will allow your Cloud PC to sync locally on your device and you'll be able to work without an internet connection; then once you reconnect any changes made will synchronize to your Cloud PC.
- Azure Active Directory Join support for Windows 365 Enterprise is currently in preview and will be generally available in May.
- Updates to the Windows 365 Business portal and simplified management experiences for small businesses, and
- New Microsoft 365 Lighthouse portal integration for partners who manage multiple customer tenants.

Excited to share some of the exciting new Windows 365 features in Windows 11!
That offline mode for a cloud pc is very slick! Almost like using OneDrive to cache a snapshot of your virtual disk and then merging that disk change on the fly. Pretty crazy how far we have come with all of these background technologies, virtualization and file structures that allow this type of operation. Reminds me of the old user profile disks for having a consistent dekstop across devices.
Brilliant technology with so many benefits to organisations.
Can you please tell me how the direct boot to cloud works
There are a lot of implications for Education that I'm excited to explore. I can see some of these features being incredibly useful for teaching.

Offline mode might be the thing that finally convinces me to switch to VDI!
Wonder if the ADD integration brings MFA to the windows 11 workstation?
I'm getting confused on the feature parity between AVD and W365. The features outlined here would be excellent on the AVD side.
If I were a new company wanting to look at cloud delivered VDI, which product would Microsoft recommend?
When W365 was first introduced I looked at it as something checking the same boxes as AVD, but easier to setup and deploy, perfect for smaller businesses. Now that I see features hitting W365 that AVD lacks, I'm not clear on the direction.

This is really great! Will this be added to classic remote desktop as well? Finally we get rid of this pesky blue bar at the top! And how will the offline feature be working? And are you considering remotely running (with offline capabilities in future) windowed apps as well?
How do I protect information leakages from Windows 365 to Desktop, and vice versa? If Intune is the answer, where would I install and setup the MDM/MAM function, on Win 11 or Win 365?
You can use Group Policy or Intune's equivalent ADMX-backed policies to isolate the Cloud PC from the accessing device. For example, you can disable the clipboard, printing, and more.
Why would the windows 365 app need to be preinstalled? Very few people, even in work, are going to use a cloud PC. Especially at the costs of cloud pcs.
I hope we get this versions of Desktops working with local lan pc's too 🤗
How is performance of collaboration tools such as Teams and Zoom using the Windows 365 app vs remote desktop?
With rdc , teams requires special configuration and zoom requires an add on to the local device in order to provide better experience
We optimize the image for Microsoft Teams using multimedia redirect, so that it performs well with video calls.
How much longer does AVD have to live with the continuous growth and development of Windows 365?
Both solutions are continuously developing. AVD also has Azure AD join support, Azure Stack for hybrid deployment, just to name a few recent additions, and a huge growing list of configuration options, including multi-session client and RemoteApp. Both are great solutions.
Finally a product MS should have made 20 years ago, dude that take with you and stream it to whatever device you login - fantastic

That is the default background image for Windows 365 Cloud PCs.
When will this windows 365 app be available in the Store? But even now using remote desktop or browser this is awesome. I no longer need Parallels on my mac as this works like a charm. I had a little fun yesterday and was creating a .NET Maui app and testing on an android emulator and Windows from my iPad mini...
Where can I find the dark mode wallpaper?
This does not seem secure. What encryption is used? How does this deter a MITM attack? How do we know someone is not on the physical pc capturing data packets? There seems to be a lot overlooked here.
Everything is encrypted and we aren't leaving port 3389 open. And you can use 2 factor authentication to access the Cloud PC over Azure AD
Did any of these features ever get released? I can't find any further information since the demos and press releases 10 months go.

Yes, Teams AV redirect optimizes video for Teams calls. It passes the video directly from the sending to receiving devices and eliminates a few encoding and decoding steps in between
Any chance I can set up my powerful office workstation as "cloud PC", instead of using Azure? [My employer doesn't allow me to you Remote Desktop app, apparently because that requires to open up a port that is not secure -- while other, similar tools such as TeamViewer uses the web port... as far as I understand.]
Yes, and that's not correct. AVD doesn't use RDP port 3389 or require that it's always open. Connecting to it is secure and you can use 2 factor auth with Azure AD as well.

I am working on a case where user is using remote desktop connection manager to connect to the Cloud PC and his account is getting locked out
Does it work from the web portal? Is the challenge failing for the service user login (AAD) or the machine login (AD)?
