    Hopefully this service isn't limited to businesses/business use only. As a standard consumer, I'd absolutely pay for a subscription to have a personal cloud PC. It's a no-brainer, especially since I could just connect to it with a non-Windows tablet. All the benefits of powerful hardware without the laptop-like sacrifice of battery life. It'd be great for school!

    Absolutely brilliant, will certainly be raising this in our next budget meeting for implementation. The cost savings on not having to upgrade hardware on user Laptops/PCs at intervals will certainly be a solid business case to move to this model. The management of users/devices will also be massively simplified, not to mention inherent security that this model creates. Well done !

It could probably really help with network segmentation and reduce fishing attacks and ransom ware too. I’m more interested in finally being able to completely switch to Linux and run the two Windows programs that I really need that won’t run on Linux. I wonder how much the lowest spec Win365 vm will cost.

    I actually envisioned Windows 365 many years ago, but my concern was always the network. If 5G has been looking for a killer app, this is it. Also, the environmental benefits are also a major advantage, hardware will last longer because you will do everything up in the cloud. Its just that, its gonna be a long transition moving over the 5G capable devices.

Like a small office where everyone needs to access a shared QuickBooks company file, one of the Win365 desktops will be the admin with the QB Database Manager running and the other will just need access to the company file. I bought a Chromebook and i love it, the lasting battery, android apps and is so easy to use, BUT there are a lot of disadvatages such as not being able to run major programs. Hope Windows 365 is available for the regular consumer.

      Your Windows 365 Cloud PC will be accessible from all your devices - Windows, Android, iOS, and Mac. Stay turned for more offerings and use cases as the team evaluates future scenarios to support.

      It's currently only available for Business users. We're looking for feedback on scenarios where home users would use it.

    Any multi monitor support from multiple devices? Such as a laptop and an Tablet?

    • @MSFTMechanics
      @MSFTMechanics  3 роки тому +2

      Multi-monitor is supported, but you can access it from one device at a time. So, like in the demo, you could access from a Mac laptop at work, then an iPad at home for example.

    Apple: Welcome to the new iPad with M1 - the most powerful silicone ever that allows you to do…widgets!
    Microsoft: Welcome to the new iPad with M1 - now with REAL multi-tasking and desktop-class software!!!!

    I spend most days on Teams video meetings. Would this run through the VM Teams or better to use a local app, eg Teams on iOS?

    • @MSFTMechanics
      @MSFTMechanics  3 роки тому

      You can use Teams directly through the Cloud PC. Teams is optimized for video using what's called AV redirection to avoid video lag, then there is more capability in the Windows client for Teams compared to the iOS version. You would probably benefit from a trackpad or mouse in this scenario.

    Looks great! - does this mean I can do away with our Windows Virtual Desktop environment? I wonder what the pricing will be? Also will Teams calling with Direct routing still work on a cloud PC? Keen to give it a test :)

      If you are currently using Azure Virtual Desktop (formerly WVD) and it still suits your needs and provides you excellent flexibility as it's meant to, then no need to switch! But if you're looking for ease of deployment and management, you may want to consider Windows 365. Pricing will be coming soon, stay tuned!
