Oh my goodness, I actually shouted out at my husband when you walked into Home Depot! Every time I walk into home Depot I say, “I love the smell of Home Depot, it smells like possibilities.” That is pretty close to what you said and I loved that we say and think something so similar 😂

Great choice on the door. It looks like it has always been there! Your door hardware was a great find, it definitely looks expensive and very well built. I am in LOVE with that antique door bell! Fbmp is my favorite too...I live-in ohio, I wish I lived closer, I would definitely buy your green sofa if you were selling it:) I have been looking on the home depot website since I have not found it used yet.lol.Maybe next year I will be able to go to your Bespoke Design Retreat?

Looks so good. My husband and I needed a new sofa a few years ago. We went to 13 furniture stores looking for one that we liked and could afford. We are both short and it is hard to find one that is comfortable and our feet can touch the floor! We chose one and when it was delivered, it would not go in any three doors available in our home. We had to start over and find another sofa!

What I’m wondering is, how did you have enough for the header to still sit on?
The door and hardware are gorgeous! And what a deal you got! I did similar things when we were redoing our old house. I bought light fixtures and faucets, etc on eBay and in antique stores. I was able to get antique lights and new old stock faucets for Pennie’s in the dollar i would have had to pay brand new. And I also preferred them, so that was nice. I think it’s always worth it to buy good quality hardware. That door hardware will last the rest of your life, I’m sure.
My husband was also concerned about the header. 😳 He has had to reengineer many an opening where it was under engineered and the side of the house starts sagging, eventually collapsing which breaks the door and worse. It made want to cry, because it looks so beautiful now and Sarah is so excited!
I will ask Colby this question, he did a lot of reenforcing that I didn't show in the video and he is a mechanical engineer, so I trust that he did it right. But, I will ask!
@@SheHoldsDearly Oh, I can see why you can trust his decisions, I didn’t know his profession. I’m sure he did it right.
Mechanical and structural engineers are quite different. I’m not sure my husband would have the expertise to design an air conditioner or refrigerator, for structures you need to consult a structural engineer. ✌️

Love the door and the shades of that color was a perfect choice ❤
Tips: 1) A painted rectangle panel of any material (plaque) would’ve been a great elevated background for those lights. Omits the work of having to cut new hole and fill old hole.
2) Spray painting the door before installing the hardware would’ve been much easier, faster, and results in a pristine finish.

FYI Perhaps you’ve tried it before and didn’t like the finish, but spray painting the door before it is installed, can give a lovely, fast finish (either using a manufactured spray paint or using any paint in a small sprayer ). I’ve also used that Zinzer water-based primer, but found the oil based one worked better & prevented the woodgrain or knots from bleeding through… keep up the great work! I really enjoy your show! There’s such a serenity to what you do 🙏

I think you could have ordered it painted, your choice of color. I know you can at Lowe’s. I think it is a baked on finish. I know it’s a lot of work painting it. It looks beautiful.
