My lovely husband and I have been married for nearly 30 years - We always tell people that we are still in the honeymoon phase!! I recommend praying for and with your husband - make your husband your best friend and enjoy him! I also advise watching marriage videos, reading marriage books such as The Excellent Wife, Fascinating Womanhood, The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands - and the list goes on. You can never stop learning!
I'm guilty of the first tip as well- I don't watch to watch things on TV that are light hearted fun and I also prefer deep conversations. I need to achieve balance with that, so that I'm actually fun to be around. Number 2 is important to accept as well!
I know exactly what you mean with wanting to talk and connect but not knowing what to say. I've never heard anyone else articulate that. Helps to know I'm not alone!
One thing I love to do is google "conversation starter questions" or "fun hypothetical questions" and ask one after our daughter is in bed. The other night, the question was, if you could go back in time or forward to the future, which would it be? We must've discussed that for like 2 hours and it was so interesting! I love this series, keep 'em coming and happy Monday!
I'm not married and I already struggle with being too serious in conversations. I better start now having more fun 😊 Sara, you can save your seriousness for when I come over
Hi Sara! The serious thing is my biggest problem ever! I have been married a long time and felt that because the Bible tells the older folks to be sober minded and since that is my tendency, that it was wrong to be silly. My husband is King of silly, and fun. Whoa that makes for some bumps in the road for sure. I have been thinking about this and this video has given me a prod in the more relaxed approach! I'll give it a whirl and let you know how things go (if I remember :), ha, ha) Love ya friend!
Thank you so much for this video! Recently I was thinking about this so much and stressing because I’m in a relationship with a guy right now and we planning on getting married, but I’m scared because of how bad people constantly talk about marriage, this video really helped❤️
Omg I am learning this same thing! I learned this before marriage though but I still struggle with coming off very serious and not taking a joke well. So happy I’m not the only one!
Great video! Lots of wonderful tips and reminders ❤️ I appreciate that you don’t do lots of “jump/cuts” or whatever they’re called. Your videos feel like connecting with a friend, rathe than sitting here, being “spoken at” :)
I totally understand the point you made about being too serious. And honestly sometimes I’m more of a worrier than being laid back. What practical things helped you overcome that?
Hm, good question. I’m not really much of a worrier myself,I think I just tend to be somewhat serious about most things. But in times when I have felt anxious or stressed, I’ve found it super helpful to pray, telling God my troubles, asking for strength, etc. and then trying to find practical ways to solve them, if they seem unsolvable, I try to just move on. I’ve also found planning, scheduling, and to do lists help a lot. If I still feel stressed about something that I’ve already voiced with my husband, then sometimes I’ll talk to my mom about it just to get it off my chest, but not have to stress my husband by bringing it up again. Hm, those are the things that come to my mind right off. I hope it’s helpful. ❤️
I'm the same way anytime that I feel like my marriage is having those rough seasons I start getting worried instead of just trusting the process and trusting God. I start thinking that I need to say something, I need to do something, or wondering is he falling out of love with me, is he not attracted to me anymore? blah blah blah etc 🤭 And it's never long after that that he comes back and our relationship is normal again! it's kinda funny how us women think vs. what a man is really thinking...... Which is not much a lot of the time and most of the time it never has anything to even do with us, and that's the first thing we go to is we think we did something wrong or they don't love us anymore 😂
what a good video and what a great series. i’ve been watching more and more of your videos lately and wow… a wealth of information and a godly perspective on marriage that we just can’t find in this world so thankful you’re using this platform to reach people like me 🤍🤍🤍🙏

I’m so happy to hear this. We were always hearing terrible things about marriage before we got married too. But I LOvE it so much! ❤️

Haha, you most certainly are not. 😂❤️

Wow! This is so neat to hear. Sometimes I worry I can come across as “preachy.”

It's a Russian actress. What do you think? 😊 Nice video btw
Awe, thank you. ❤️ I love hearing who people think I look like. It’s always so interesting:)
