Just keep oil in it and the chain adjusted tight enough (keep it sharp) and it will serve you well. I've used mine for three seasons now cutting up slabwood I get from local sawmills in my area. I got replacement chains from Amazon so I always have a sharpened one when I need it. They are easy to sharpen and it cuts as good as a gas powered unit with a sharp chain.

Good video. I have a Harbor Freight Bauer 16" electric (plug in) chainsaw that needs a new plastic gear. All teeth teeth are worn down. My trouble is I can't find a replacement gear anywhere. The gear I need is about 4 1/4" dia, but the spindle in the center is a bit different than the one I see on line...one side has a 1" bearing that is attached to a geared shaft. I was trying to find out who manufactures the saw so I could contact them directly as HF was no help. Would you have any information on where I can get this gear? Thanks.

I cut mainly slab wood from my local sawmill, so I always cut it up in one area near my shop, so electric is the way to go. Keep it full of chain oil and saw wood all day! As long as I don't run into some dirt or a nail, the chain will stay sharp all day and the motor has plenty of power (more than my 16" Husqvarna gas chainsaw)

excellent use for this saw, I also use it with a 2K inverter connected directly to my battery with my truck running, works great in a pinch, but not very fuel efficient that way, I use it mostly for cutting blanks for turnings - thanks for subscribing!

I bought a DeWalt cordless because I already have several batteries and most of all, didn’t trust myself not cutting the cord, which I’ve been known to do with my hedge trimmer.
The DeWalt is really good and I do have larger limbs to cut most of the time…good video!

definitely requires cord management! once you buy into a battery line, it is smart to stay with it, I looked at the cordless chainsaw from bauer and I bought the corded, as much for the 2 inch longer bar as anything else - thanks for subscribing!

About an hour into using this, the chain came off. I have no clue how to put it back on

they are made to used without tools for replacing the change, there is a hand wheel where the chain turns, unscrew that hand wheel and the cover will come of the chain drive, and you can replace the chain and set the tension and put the hand wheel back on to hold it - thanks for subscribing!

I will try to post a video in the next week or so, there is a knob on outside of the bar and it looks to big to be what holds on the bar, but it is meant to be toolless, so no tools needed -thanks for subscribing!

I was looking at that one because my green on leaks too much oil. It’s a bit pricey

I thought the same thing, it is a bit pricey, with the only real advantage being the speed of the cut, not sure it is worth it, but I wanted this one so I guess that makes it worth it - thanks for subscribing!

Made two trips to HF today to purchase the same saw. Neither one would run, got a full refund. Very disappointed.

I had the same issue, the first one did not work, but the second did, it is best to test as soon as you get come so you can return if not right, I have started using a 2 Kw inverted to test most power tools in the parking lot, and opening all tools in the parking lot to check their condition, just to save time, really bad I need to do that, but about what I've come to expect from a discount tool store, when I buy their cheaper lines, obviously I still go there and buy a lot of tools, just need to be careful - thanks for subscribing
