Yep. Definitely. The real gamers are just completely speechless when Gabe shows up... Until he starts talking games, then they immediately open up to him.
You can be a real gamer and not know who he is. A gamer is somebody who enjoys games, not somebody who worships the president of Valve. I didn't know who he was until I saw this video and I have a high end gaming rig.
A foundation most business execs and higher ups tend to strip away or not follow. Sad really. I fear for the day gaben passes or retires. Hopefully valve doesmt become what microsoft did after bill gate's monopoly got broken up and what happened to Bill Gates afterwards.
What a guy! You personally go and give these new fantastic game consoles out to regular random people. You have a good heart! Hope this Steam Deck goes very well for you and your company. Well done Gabe.
Gabe is so freaking cool. My friend and I were joking around saying it would be awesome if Gabe hand delivered our Steam Decks. Little did we know he actually did deliver them to some lucky gamers!! Wow, we would have absolutely lost our minds if we saw Gabe.
haha i agree, but i remember reading and hearing that many famous people don't like their fans to freak out, so maybe some of these held back out of respect.
Actually I think that WAS excitement. First realize these are gamers who are often introverts. Second these people did not expect to see him. He’s wearing a mask and it’s the pandemic so they can’t hug him. And the shock hits you in such waves that you probably don’t believe it’s happening. Gabe is also fairly humble so it’s not like he’s pushing for excitement he just wanted to do something fun. And honestly it probably was marketing coming up with the plan not him
This is actually quite wholesome. I mean one of the biggest names in gaming and the big boss of Steam himself is giving out the Steam Deck! That's pretty cool! If I was one of those who receive this Steam Deck I would have my mind blown! lol
I think if the saint, the one and only Gabe fucking Newell handed me my a steam deck, I would just cease to exist in that moment. I would hear the windows log-off off noise and die. Most of these people don't know what a fucking legend they just got to be in the presence of. I don't care if people say that valve has forgotten its ways, Gabe is still the man and the legend he always was.

Thanks Gabe , for the entertainment and inspiration you've brought to us from your whole career ! And thanks for the seasonal sales you always do , i've really love the Grand Theft Auto : San Andreas , that game thought me how to practice my accent to learning different languages (atleast in americas) ! 🇺🇲💪
Reminds me of that Wii commercial where Nintendo executives handed the Wii to a random house The only thing remaining here was Gabe asking to play the steam deck with the people he delivered it to

He's also arguably the most important man in gaming. This guy and his company are all fighting the good fight to make Linux gaming possible and fight against the Microsoft monopoly. They did the same with Oculus too which I'm also grateful for, or we'd be stuck with Meta/Facebook headsets.
I don't game, the last time I did was Goldeneye, still the best game ever made, I don't know this guy other than from seeing a few Asmon videos, I know that I am two years late, but THIS just made me buy one of these! Fun to see that GabeN himself is also so very nervous and doesn't really know what to say at people :D This is what makes him so human instead of typical marketing people shouting at you how GREAT their products are.
Wow! You can tell how passionate Gabe is about his company's product and the gaming community. This needs way more attention! Found out about it from Luke on the WAN show. Lol, the gamers were all pretty confused and awkward like most gamers are 😂
It's amazing how many people don't know who Gabe Newell is. A couple of those people didn't even know the President of Valve was hand delivering their Steam Deck to them.
This video it's kinda old now but the reactions, duuude, I am pretty sure that even at my age I genuinely will be more excited than these people, trying to give him a hug or at least a hand shake in a respectful way ofc, bcs at the end of the day is our great lord and savior Gabe Newell!
