I dunno I thought the part where Crow tried to dig their way back to Earth was pretty funny and this original ending seemed to tie in nicely to that. Makes one wonder why they didn't use this.
+JaguarCats Because apparently test audiences (read the 14-year-old Valley Girl they dragged out of the mall with "Hey! You want to see a movie!?!) found it, according to Kevin Murphy, "boring and scary and confusing". Jim joked @ the 1996 Con that they were going to show the scene "At the risk of boring, scaring, and confusing you". I agree, this scene is so much better than the one they went with. It just kind of "ends" without any sort of resolution in the final cut.
@@joelkazoo I wonder what would happen if one of those fans whose trying to extend the movie combined both this and the final ending. Oh wait I have and idea for that. Want to hear it.
Me and my gf at the time watch the Director's cut verson of this and this along with the bots saving Mike along with some additional riffs caught us by surprise. I still prefer the original ending but giving the fact that I had this movie recorded in a tape as a kid and watched it again and again this was a nice treat!
@@MrBlueSkyof1607 Yeah, you're right man, you're right. I suppose it's just the part of me that wants to see our beloved heroes get down for the same reason we wanna see the cast of Gilligan's Island get off the island. Though you know that would mean the end of the show.
I love MST3K but they never should have made a movie. The host segments were ridiculous, faux-action drivel. The bots- whose homemade-puppet look made them adorable on TV- looked pathetic on the big screen. And let's just say Mike Nelson wasn't nominated for any Academy Awards. The greatest TV show of all-time looks terrible on the big screen, and they never should have even tried a movie without creator/genius Joel Hodgson.
Plus the running time was actually shorter then the actual show and that's without commercials. Also the lack of Cambot yeah he's technically in the theater still but the Host segments with the multiple camera angles took away the Cambot effect. I still love the movie but I do agree a movie verson takes away the feel of MST3K.
I can't believe I've never seen this until now. I've been a MSTie since early in season 1 lol. Thanx for the upload!

Not again. Crow should've remembered what happened at the beginning of the movie.

Do you still have it. Also I do have e an idea kn how you could combine both endings together.
Who wants to edit this and the final ending together.
Ok, that is pretty hilarious.
as funny as this is, why didn't they ask their new friend to bring the Satellite down while he was in Deep 13?
🎵It's just a show, you should really just relax.🎵

Theatrical ending was much more satisfying, but this is really unnecessary.

Whatever I think it was a great idea.
