The United States uses military resources meant to keep us safe to spy on, torture, groom, and harass victims of pedophilic abuse. Victims are groomed and forcibly shown deviant sexual content at ages as young as 6 years old. They hack the household devices, including hijacking the television while a child is up and alone. They are forcibly shown deviant content involving animals or disgusting acts that would be illegal for an adult. They target victims this young because this is the age that fetishes are developed and children this young are not capable of understanding what they are seeing is not normal. They are intentionally grooming defenseless children into deviant sexualities. This is also a way to shame victims into silence, they think the more deviant and depraved they are with children, they will be less likely to speak out about what happened to them out of shame. In person they will encourage children below puberty to engage in deviant sexual acts and try to convince them this is normal behavior. Both children and adults are molested and raped through the use of substances that render them unconscious and the only reason a victim might know that something has occurred is because they leave body fluids in or around the victim. When the victims get older there is use of an advanced AI that alters content that they see by inserting references and imagery that would seem normal to other people but has special meaning to the torture victim. This will be repeated again and again indefinitely. This is both for the purposes of psychological torture and to provoke violence Some people are being intentionally tortured throughout their entire lives, they may target them because they think they are easy prey or maybe they were just attracted to that particular child. They use innocuous symbols because there is plausible deniability . A victim that was groomed by pedophiles is repeatedly shown something related to their exploitation. Like a rapist that rapes a woman with a common object for the purposes of torture. They want the victim to relive the trauma as much as possible. The use of weaponized AI would manipulate algorithms to show them what the torturers wanted them to see. The AI would do the grunt work of content modification and categorization.
My brother had a box set of the show back in like 1999 or 2000 and, for whatever reason, this one is the only one that stuck. I was 9 at the time and I wasn't really a fan of the show back then, but I think about this episode to this day. It's so funny.
This is actually one of the better exits for a major character that I've seen in TV. No character assassination, no senseless death- Joel just gets to leave and go back to earth, safe and sound. Plus they make the switch in the middle of the season to give everyone time to adjust to the change before they make up their minds about whether they want to continue watching. Nicely done, MST3K.
Watching Steven Seagal run is even more of a comfort. Though I don’t think he’s actually done that for decades. Maybe a stunt double has run for him in the last 15 years.

Some tidbits about the movie and episode (since somebody asked): • This episode first aired Oct. 23, 1993. Joel's pending departure was announced the previous May. • This episode was put out as a single-disk release on November of 2001. • You want a metaphor? How about Joel building an extremely fragile creation, certain in the knowledge that it will be destroyed? Now, that’s a metaphor. • The Daktari stool sat in the hallway of BBI for years. It was still there when I visited the set in 1999. • Want a connection from this movie to the Robert Blake murder case? Sure, we all do! Gary McLarty and Ronald (Duffy) Hambleton, both of whom testified against Blake when he was accused of killing his wife, had small roles in this movie. McLarty played one of Mistretta’s henchmen and Hambleton played mob boss Edmondo Bocca, who gets dropped by Mitchell just short of the green. But, unfortunately for the prosecution, both of these guys had somewhat checkered pasts. Blake’s defense team successfully undermined the credibility of both witnesses, introducing evidence of mental illness, drug addiction, etc. In the end, their testimony may have actually helped Blake get off. • The presence of that Christmas tree in John Saxon’s house - and pretty much no other references to it being Christmas - is one of the many odd things about this movie. • Joel seems to lose it during the “Adam Rich” scene. (Actually, the kid is played by a Todd Bass, in his second and last role in show business, according to the IMDB. It would be fun to find Mr. Bass, who must be in his 40s by now, to see what he remembers of this shoot. By the way, according to Wikipedia the kid is supposed to be the son of Linda Evans’ character! Who knew?) • Hamdingers suddenly took over the MSTie consciousness after this episode, but it was funny how Gypsy and Mike (and, by extension, BBI) seemed very clear on what Hamdingers were … but nobody else seemed to be. It was hard to nail down just what they were, and descriptions seemed contradictory. Some said the Swift-Premium folks made them (I believe Kevin invoked Swift Premium during an online chat). Not true. Hamdingers were a short-lived meat product produced by the Patrick Cudahy Co., out of Cudahy, Wis., in the mid '70s … The product was sliced ham patties, about the size of a hamburger patty, and it came in a round can. Like Spam, it became a great meat to fry up with some eggs for breafast, but the great thing about Hamdingers is that it came in individually sliced portions, so you could grab a patty and fry it up for that perfect Hamdinger sandwich. • I love that DOS command Mike has to type in to the “techtronic panel” (apparently this was the one and only time that the control panel in Deep 13 was called this). • Movie comment: Toward the end of the movie, Mitchell inserts a portion of his handkerchief (there’s a lesson, kids!: always remember to carry a handkerchief; you never know when you might want to blow up a drug dealer’s car!), then screws the gas cap back on over it, so that the rest of the handkerchief is hanging down. He then drives to the meeting place and when the deal goes south he, all in a split second, whips out a lighter, lunges forward and holds the lighter to the handkerchief, which INSTANTANEOUSLY lights up. Now maybe, just maybe, the tank was very, very full and the handkerchief got nice and soaked with gasoline on the ride over. But the tank might also have been mostly empty, meaning the handkerchief could have been bone dry. That seems far more likely, doesn’t it? Which would mean it would have taken maybe ten seconds for Mitchell to light it, plenty of time to stop Mitchell. What I’m saying is that it seems unlikely that the handkerchief would immediately burst into flames in a fraction of a second like it does here. The whole thing is about as implausible as a young, sultry callgirl falling in love with Mitchell. • I love the classic, low-tech use of confetti to simulate static in the Hexfield. Very Joel. • When fans on the internet weren’t obsessing about Hamdingers, they were arguing about the correct pronunciation of “Lao” as in “Dr. Lao.” • Tom and Crow fall apart during the PANIC, but I think this may be one time it was on purpose.
Not to quibble with Wikipedia, but my take on the annoying kid on the skateboard is that he thought Mitchell was an insurance claims investigator who was doing surveillance on the kid's mom.
this episode was shown on my birthday my mom let me watch it even though she was not a fan of the show.however ,she did see mitchell made for tv movie when it came out. she did like when the bots made fun of joe don
Here's another one. During the MOVIE SIGN part, you can hear Kevin Murphy (voice of Tom Servo) say "Ow!" because the Daktari stool hit him as Joel dropped it.
Mitchell and the callgirl are making love when Joel notices a bottle of baby oil on the nightstand........"BABY OIL.......AHHHHHHHHHH..........Crow: my my MY MY GOD!!!
I love the host segments back story of Joel's escape. My favorite part is that Mike technically began his friendship with Gypsy right here as they conspired together to get Joel down. I find it heartwarming. Mike had no idea that Clayton and Frank were going send him up there as a replacement. But Gypsy was like I gotta get everything ready for the new guy, he has no idea what he's really walking into.
I think it was Pauline Kael, long a movie critic for The New Yorker, who commented, "Movies are so seldom great art that we should not go unless we can appreciate great trash." I feel that she would have understood Servo's scream, inside and out. 😎 😉
So true. "Hey Frank can I borrow your keys?" "Ok" *Franks throws the keys offscreen* *Mike catches them* "Thanks." *Makes the "that was easy" expression* So good.
Wow, just had an epiphany at the opening bit with the toothpicks. So, I believe Joel ended up parting with series over creative differences in regards to the MST3K movie (well, it was definitely more than one thing but that was the metaphorical straw). So, Joel saying he’s been working on “the sculpture” for 3 years but it’s fine for them to destroy it is really about what he’s been going through with the film. Anyway, here’s to one of the best episodes of the series there is! Just wanted to share a quick realization I had.
My favorite riff from this one is, “Damn! I’m still in this ‘Mitchell’ movie!” Also, the “It’s a very special Joe Don Baker Christmas” bit cracks me up every time.
Yes, in the MSTie cut, it wasn't resolved. That's because it was very violent and graphic in the original version and they decided that it was better to cut ✂it out of the tv version, like the situation with Sidehackers. If you're interested, Amazon prime has the uncut version...but that means you have to watch the full version of Mitchell and his love making scenes.
@@MST3Kfan1 although, after watching this probably a dozen times, i noticed that around 57:03 you can just barely hear a reference to Dini and a dune buggy accident on the radio in Mitchell's car
@@clamstain One of those times that seems a bit unfair. It's not the movie's fault when they go, "Wasn't John Saxon in this movie?" They chose to ignore that radio bulletin. The movie's opening credits came out of that cut scene: That was an extra-extra-slow-motion shot of Mitchell pounding a huge rock on the head of one of Deaney's thugs.
Man I sure miss the old MST3K BBS community. What a time to be online that was, everyone was nice to each other and we shared so many laughs. Miss all of you.
You might be in luck. Mst3k is building the Gizmoplex, a digital hub for the mst3k community and theater for new episodes. Not sure what it's gonna look like yet, but i think this is gonna be a good place for the community.
Yes, absolutely. The BBS world, the tape trading world, and the early internet was just bliss compared to the mess we have today. Remember when it was taboo to even mention a specific product, never mind promote it? And ads were just unthinkable. Who here bought a second VCR just to copy MST3K tapes? Yes, I miss those days!
@@thomasking9524 Well said! We had it so good back then and didn't realize it. You are right about promoting products, I had forgotten about that! That second VCR...hahaha. There was a company that briefly sold a double-deck VCR, specifically for copying. They probably go sued into oblivion, sadly.
My, my, my, my MITCHELL... this song will always be the saddest for me, Especially because Joel comes in at that last "Mitchell" to sign off from the last movie segment.
You know, this was the first episode of MST3K I ever watched. I remember the first time I saw it like it was yesterday... which is pretty weird, since it was today.
This line made me laugh too hard. My Grandma drove a Fury for years and I thought it was enormous... Right up till she bought the biggest pickup she could get. I miss her.
Just found this channel. I, too loved this show. I am an artist and I would paint and listen and laugh out loud at the obscure reference jokes. Thanks Joel.
I just found this channel. Was a big fan from back in the day. Knowing that this channel exists, makes my life slightly more awesome - or slightly less terrible. (Maybe both?) Either way, it's good.
"Well, great. Frank's got the keys, how do I get them? Hey Frank! Can I borrow your keys?" "OK" *Tosses keys.* I will never, ever, ever get tired of that joke, no matter the show or movie.
"Why did you need my keys?" "uh, you left your car lights on." "Okay.... HEY! I don't have a car!" "Then why did you give me your keys?" "I dunno, I thought I left my lights on." "Well, I'm glad I didn't waste time turning off your imaginary lights." "Oh, I'm sorry..." ^classic exchange. somewhere Groucho Marx is smiling
Joe Don Baker is classic Here. A real lucky day. Martin Balsam, unbelievable. A Rockford files before there was. Great period piece. Joe Don Baker still lives as of this writing.
Rosey Grier was the most interesting person in the world: played football, tackled RFK's assassin, had Ray Milland's head sewed onto his body, and released a book about doing needlepoint.
Not to be a pest, but the reason Benton's "gonna call Lady Bird Johnson" (18:15) when Mitchell's dumping his full ashtray into the road is because she was champion of the Highway Beautification Act, which sought to clean up litter on our nation's highways. I don't know if you'd like to add that; it's just a note.
Gypsy is involved with two Kubrick references in this episode, first the 2001 a Space Odyssey reference to the close up of HAL-9000 lip reading the pilots(22:50), then the POE, EOP OPE(purity of essence) from Dr Strangelove(38:29)
To answer you're curiosity, MST3K had a watered-down tv edit of the movie that cut out most of the violence and a lot of scenes, which is why John Saxon's character just vanishes from the movie.
Okay- the sex scene riffs had me SCREAMING, that was so amazing. 😂 Also, am I the only one that realized that the guy playing Cummings played Arbogast in “Psycho”, because I’m shook about that.
Bummer, was kind of hoping the Johnny Mathis character was in the movie longer to keep hearing Servo sing lol. Also Mike's delivery of, "You guys watch Joe Don Baker Movies?" cracks me up all the time
34:11 "This is what I'll remember when I think of the movie 'Mitchell," -- and I will think of it" is a paraphrase of Deborah Kerr's famous line from "Tea and Sympathy": "Years from now, when you talk about this -- and you will -- be kind."
The Ladybird Johnson line at 18:19 was a reference to the Highway Beautification Act AKA Ladybird's Bill since Mitchell was dumping garbage on the street.
Watching since KTMA in Minneapolis, this is easily the funniest episode. After so many viewings, this one still makes me laugh right out loud. Thanks, Joel!
I hope they can find a way redo all the lost annotations since UA-cam discontinued them. I remember watching one with annotations a long time ago, and it was really insightful.
There’s a website that adds them back, as well as an extension for desktop browsers that re-enables all UA-cam annotations. Someone archived them all back when UA-cam announced it was canning them
I love watching MST3k, I enjoy the jokes but as someone not from America in the 80's and 90's, some are wasted on me. The annotations are very much appreciated and give me context to the jokes. Thank you so much for the effort!!
Mike Albright It's a reference to the Hamilton Collection series of Star Trek plates. I agree, it should be annotated. en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/The_Hamilton_Collection
Rage In Eden I would have said it was too obvious and the annotation wasn't needed, but they had another annotation explaining who Spock was. If you don't think the audience will know who Spock is, then the plates SHOULD be explained, too.

Lao.”
• Tom and Crow fall apart during the PANIC, but I think this may be one time it was on purpose.
@15:13 you can see holiday cards hung above the duty desk

That is awesome, I never noticed that!
tristan tobey that's wonderful.
I think he was operating Servo when it hit him!
Well caught! I knew I hadn't been the only one! 😄
Gypsy has always been the most wholesome bot. Despite her name being a slur.

When Servo just screams: 57:45
This actually might be my favorite MST3K moment!
I think it was Pauline Kael, long a movie critic for The New Yorker, who commented, "Movies are so seldom great art that we should not go unless we can appreciate great trash."
I feel that she would have understood Servo's scream, inside and out. 😎 😉
It’s funny but why did he scream?
@@boomboom6577 I think because the dialogue between Mitchell and the kid was just so inane!
"You guys watch Joe Don Baker movies?"
He's so condescending about it lol

If only he knew what was in store for him.

Gypsy trying to calm herself down with "OK. OK. OK." is genuinely one of the funniest moments ever. She is the true star of this episode.
The bit with Mike, Frank, and Frank's keys cracks me up. Every. Friggin. Time.
Like any ribbing it's not funny if it's true 😆
So true.
"Hey Frank can I borrow your keys?"
"Ok"
*Franks throws the keys offscreen* *Mike catches them*
"Thanks."
*Makes the "that was easy" expression*
So good.
Glad I didn't waste any time turning on your imaginary lights.
Oh snap, holy smokes.
@@boomboom6577 .
Maybe,
but then he added, when they said they had to destroy it, that it was why he built it.
I had just realized this too, glad I'm not the only one!
My favorite riff from this one is, “Damn! I’m still in this ‘Mitchell’ movie!”
Also, the “It’s a very special Joe Don Baker Christmas” bit cracks me up every time.
The commentary during the end credits song is some of the most brilliant comedy I've ever heard.
+Rob Baumgartner Jr. The Hushpuppies jingle had my ribs hurting!
RIP John Saxon. Better than this film deserved.
Was his subplot left hanging at the end?
Yes, in the MSTie cut, it wasn't resolved. That's because it was very violent and graphic in the original version and they decided that it was better to cut ✂it out of the tv version, like the situation with Sidehackers.
If you're interested, Amazon prime has the uncut version...but that means you have to watch the full version of Mitchell and his love making scenes.
@@MST3Kfan1 the full version of the episode, right? You don’t mean the uncut version of that man making love to something?
@@MST3Kfan1 although, after watching this probably a dozen times, i noticed that around 57:03 you can just barely hear a reference to Dini and a dune buggy accident on the radio in Mitchell's car
@@clamstain One of those times that seems a bit unfair. It's not the movie's fault when they go, "Wasn't John Saxon in this movie?" They chose to ignore that radio bulletin. The movie's opening credits came out of that cut scene: That was an extra-extra-slow-motion shot of Mitchell pounding a huge rock on the head of one of Deaney's thugs.
“He looks like a middle aged Chucky.”
I absolutely lost it.. 😆😆
We're still here with ya, buddy.
In the AOL days, there the MST3K Usenet group. It was pretty lively for awhile. I traded a lot of tapes through people I met there.
57:52 "BUZZ-OFF KID!"

One legend leaves, another takes his place. I love this show.
My, my, my, my MITCHELL... this song will always be the saddest for me, Especially because Joel comes in at that last "Mitchell" to sign off from the last movie segment.

I just so much love the 22:20 re-enactment of Hal's lip-reading scene from 2001!

Just found this channel. I, too loved this show. I am an artist and I would paint and listen and laugh out loud at the obscure reference jokes. Thanks Joel.

Laaaaaaaady bird... You gottaa call her like that. Otherwise she won't come to you...

RIP John Saxon 😢, you'll always be my favorite villain killed in a dune buggy accident off camera. Also you were pretty cool in Enter the Dragon.
Gypsy is involved with two Kubrick references in this episode, first the 2001 a Space Odyssey reference to the close up of HAL-9000 lip reading the pilots(22:50), then the POE, EOP OPE(purity of essence) from Dr Strangelove(38:29)
"O.E.P... P.O.P... P.O.E. Working like a dog."
RIP John Saxon. I still have no idea what his character was doing in this movie.
“Cedar lattice. Works every time.”
He was paying for Mitchell's Whores.
To answer you're curiosity, MST3K had a watered-down tv edit of the movie that cut out most of the violence and a lot of scenes, which is why John Saxon's character just vanishes from the movie.
@trustno173 "Keep in mind Joel can't control, where the movies begin or end..."
“Mitchell” & “Pod People” are my two favorite MST3K’s of all-time!

My all-time favorite Joel moment is his reaction to the gun sliding down Mitchell's pants.

The whole bit during 22:32 through 23:17 is a reference to 2001: A Space Odyssey, when HAL was reading the crew's lips

34:11 "This is what I'll remember when I think of the movie 'Mitchell," -- and I will think of it" is a paraphrase of Deborah Kerr's famous line from "Tea and Sympathy": "Years from now, when you talk about this -- and you will -- be kind."
Excellent catch! This is the annotation I'll read when watching the slow-speed car chase in Mitchell, and I will read it.
4:37 "Sure, they all laughed." - I love the angry look Dr. F gives.
The Ladybird Johnson line at 18:19 was a reference to the Highway Beautification Act AKA Ladybird's Bill since Mitchell was dumping garbage on the street.
Tom Servo’s industrial film voiceover routines are the best.

0:26:30 - Reynold's Wrap: Keeps freshness in, can't keep Mitchell out!
What is the references in No. 1? Star Trek? Not sure that really calls for an explanation. I suspect that just thought No. 2 was self-explanatory.
Maybe it's nothing. Star Trek, collector plates. Just seems like there's something there.
Mike Albright It's a reference to the Hamilton Collection series of Star Trek plates. I agree, it should be annotated. en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/The_Hamilton_Collection

I would have said it was too obvious and the annotation wasn't needed, but they had another annotation explaining who Spock was. If you don't think the audience will know who Spock is, then the plates SHOULD be explained, too.
