I love this so much-I’m 84 and have such comforting memories of sleeping at my grandmother’s house -she lived close to a railroad-and hearing the train whistle coming from way down the tracks and listening to the clickety clack of those wheels as they grew closer and closer and then moved off in the distance-
We have the same kind of memories. I also remember summer nights at grandma Ginny and grandpa Caps house hearing the train going through town at night. Magical!
This is so peaceful and relaxing for me. My grandma also lived across from the train tracks and I remember sleeping there and hearing the trains go by. I miss the good old days.
Hi patsy I have fond memories as well sleeping at my grandparents cottage in Arundel West Sussex and also hearing the trains as they lived near Ford train station lol 😆

I agree, wholeheartedly. This train is a mystic wonder with "rhythmic wheels" accompanied by a sound caboose. I'm wondering what the people are thinking about on this scenic adventure through mountainous whitecaps amidst evergreens. Do their thoughts reflect an emotional ebb and flow, as the onlookers peer into the polar glades?

My psychosis has been starting to get worse again and so I listen to these when trying to sleep or to fill silence. I've always loved trains. Thank you for this.♥️👑
This is amazing. Last year I happened to stay in in a rural farmhouse and trains went by in the night - and coyotes howled allow with it. It occurred to me that I was experiencing something beautiful that will surely be lost to time within 10-20 years - a sound of wonder that enchanted generations, that inspired so much of our culture - especially American music. Thankfully vids like this will keep the experience alive!
There's nothing like sounds heard in the country. In Cherryvale, Ks my grandparents had a creek that ran through the woods. The sound of the creek water flowing and the air moving in the trees is beyond awesome. And the smells like alfalfa and the fresh air, OMG how amazing. Reminds us of the wonderment of our creator. I love this train video. So relaxing.
Tis the saddest reality of life's pleasures--to know how fleeting it all is and that to have a memory of beauty erased from the the mind's chasm within two decades reminds us of our own mortality.
Christina Reynolds Oslo, Lillehammer, Dokka area to visit family, then Oslo to Bergen, Stavanger, etc. Many other places. Then we traveled to Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Russia, Estonia, etc. It was delightful.
Idk if anyone will read this but I’ve had a really rough two years. I have a lot to be grateful for but I find my self more in pain over things that I simply value more than what I already have. Things I can’t control or can’t have for some reason seem to be what’s crippling me. And these things aren’t material possessions that I long for, they are legitimate human needs. Like socializing, romance, connections, things of that sort. I’ve had a bad string of luck in regards to these things and it leaves me feeling more alone and empty than I ever been. If anyone reads this. Please say a prayer for me. Because idk how much more I can give of myself. I’ve done it for so long and there’s nothing left of me. That is all. I love who ever is reading this and I hope you have a phenomenal day. I also hope you achieve and find everything you’re looking for in life.
prayers heading ur way.. have faith. you are an amazing person and god LOVES you! remember he can't handle other people issues, but he promises a life of no pain, no suffering.. just believe. u aren't alone, so many like you are on the same boat. so please don't ever feel alone, if you do.. i'm here for you. a freaking internet comment because tbh it comforts me knowing there is other people who feel the same.. so i'm here. xoxo❤️🙏🏼
That also happens to me I'll doze off and on while watching until thankfully it takes over and I pass out and usually wake later with the phone either in my hand on the mattress or the floor it dosent matter because my phone is hooked up to a small Bluetooth speaker that's on a table next to the bed I suffer from chronic insomnia so any video that puts me to sleep is a blessing to me well sweet dreams everyone nite nite
Don't know about the rest of the world but a few years ago "sakte TV" (translates to "Slow TV ") just exploded in Norway. There are so many of them now it's crazy. Many of them hours and hours long. Different train rides (this one f.ex has one for every season), famous boat rides like "hurtigruten" and a few others, a walk through the mountains, even an 8 hour long knitting evening were they start with shearing a sheep and end with knitting a sweater. All in real time, called "minute to minute". For the 10year anniversary for this concept they even filmed a "live" clock with people "constructing" the time with planks for every minute that ticked by for 24hours 🤣
Absolutely.... I don't like any of the train vids except this one. The wheels and the clickity click are finally loud enough to hear. This vid is so satisfying....
This is very relaxing! I've always liked the colder months (like autumn & winter). After this horribly HOT summer of 2023, I'm looking forward to relaxing in the snow! Thanks for posting this!
Who doesn’t love trains? Very cool video. Thanks for the upload. In 1970 I traveled across the US from California to New York by train. The trip took four days. I think most folks don’t know how FLAT much of the country is. When we reached the East Coast and swung north we finally entered rolling hills and trees and I began to feel like I was in familiar territory. Back to the coast of southern New England with the tang of ocean air. There’s no place like home.
I took the auto train to Florida with my parents, 6 years ago today, a very relaxing as we had a roomette on the lower level of the silverliner cars, I just listened to the horn, and faraway roar of the two locomotives, and watched the scenery whiz by, I always wanted to do it again, I just never got time again to go
“Hello traveler, where did you come from?” “...” “I see, you’re far from home too...you can have a seat next to me if you like, and we can share our adventures.”
I appreciate the offer. About once a month I take a 6 hour train ride to visit my grandson and the best thing about taking the train is getting to meet new people. I'm a little tired right now but later on if you're awake we can go up to the dining car and I'll tell you all about the city I live in it and you can tell me all about yours.
Reading all the comments describing people's stories of why they love the sound of a train and memories this sound invokes for them made me think I should share my "love of train sound memory" as well. I was born and grew up in Chicago, Illinois, USA. I went to college for one school year in Rome, Italy. I would travel throughout Europe by train using my Eurail Pass that school year. I'm a terrible sleeper. I can't get my body to fall asleep until it's too exhausted to stay awake so I usually can't fall asleep until early morning hours. However, whenever I traveled by train to an overnight destination, the sound of the train and the rocking back and forth made falling asleep a sinch! I LOVED to travel at night for this reason. Well, that's my, "love of train sound memory" story! Sleep well everyone and thank you for the upload OP!
It's a shame we all just can't sleep on a train every night for those that need the rock of the clickety clacking wheels. Now I am beginning to understand the profound importance of the psychoses behind the train's components.
This is so beautiful, and brings me so much peace, as this may be my favorite sound.. my dad had friend with a cabin way up in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and he let us use it.. there was a valley down below and you could see the little train making its way and hear the soft sound of the clicking tracks, the distant whistle. There’s a train somewhere near my house , and I get to hear it every day and night. It’s a piece of a beautiful memory 💕💕.
Son fell asleep after minute or two. I am reading coments. I looove snow and this train sound is so original!! I do not have that habbit but there is something special in the air here. Thank you for giving us such good feelings and better fallasleep time. Thankyou 🙏❤ be blissfull
As a young child we had train tracks not too far from the back of our house..even though I was 5 this video made me happy and cozy like my 5 year old self
I am not sure if you are a young adult or an aged adult at this point but you can still live near railroad tracks and also feel this sense of coziness, regardless of ones years on this vast planet we call home.
When I was in Elementary school we had a class trip to cold springs New York to see The Nutcracker and we took the train there! I loved it! Will always be a treasured memory! And The Nutcracker was the most elegant play I have ever seen!!! Wonderful childhood memory!
Its Nov. 15th 2020. Dallas Tx. 1:39am. This is quaint. Adventuresome compared to here. Bucket list now for sure. Thanks for posting. And now for whoever reads this.... Fare thee well my friends
This is by far the best sleeping aid video ever. Its not just a sound you can get anywhere. Its one that evokes the feeling of freedom, of going somewhere on a journey, and feeling free. This is what falling asleep should feel like.
I born in a train during a journey from Karachi to Larkana in Sindh Province in Pakistan, I am a rail fan and now in the age of 44 still love to see the trains and travel in them alot, also play with train toys😉, Loved that video, it's really a nice gift for me, even I dicovered it year late but awsome♥️
The sound of a train passing by reminds me of sleeping over at my Grammy’s house when I was young. It puts me at such ease, I think it could be my favorite sound on this Earth.
wanna show my appreciation for this video! i suffer with a long term case of severe anxiety and depression and this makes it quite difficult for me to get to sleep on most nights. sounds of trains going past, sorts of engines etc really help me relax and slowly sooth me to sleep. just the sound of trains hitting the tracks every two seconds is beautiful. thankyou!❤️
This might be because you're spiritually battling your inner self and should gravitate towards the light, either by praying and keeping a light on, or by praying and keeping a light on. The train is great, though.
It’s not only the sound of the train on the tracks and the whistle at the beginning ( which brought me nice memories from my childhood every time I went to visit my Mom’s family on vacation) but the sound of the wind around. I love all the views where the train is passing by. I could sleep profoundly the whole night. Thanks so much!!! Blessings!!! Shalom shalom!!!💖💖💖🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
But how do you know that you could sleep profoundly the entire night while seeing everything the train is passing by? Did you watch this in full while awake, beforehand? Shalom. Trains are by far the vehicle of the past.
The best night of sleep I ever had was on a train, I had a cabin all for myself and I slept like a baby. Now, whenever I have trouble sleeping I play this video and I fall asleep, it's so relaxing. Thank you Bababouy, you have no idea how much this video is appreciated.
This is the best video in the world for sleeping, so cozy in the warm, gently swaying train car, while the winter wind howls outside, and the wheels on the rails, hour after hour, clickety-clack, clickety-clack, clickety-clack... ...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz ..... 😴 Thank you, Bababouy!
What is stiflingly interesting is that we feel warm while viewing incessant winter. Theoretically, it would be a cold trip if we were in the direct presence of the camera's vicinity.

I've been listening to rain and thunder noise videos to help me sleep but came across this video and wow I'm falling to sleep a lot quicker. Thank you for posting this wonderful video
You might fall asleep quicker if you change your profile picture. You have had 3 months to dive deeper into this sense of awe since you have felt astonished that you "sleep a lot quicker". Tis true that this 8 hour ride is indeed a "wonderful video"
I adore this. My two favourite things in one place....trains and snow... my dream is to ride on the Orient Express in weather like this. Thanks for sharing this. ❤
Me too. Turns out the are trains in the US, maybe other countries too, that are Orient Express type trains. Still expensive. But at least maybe more achievable.
Thank you for your fantastically, wonderfully beautiful video of winter sounds and memory of when the train was the ONLY way to cross Canada in the winter. What a fantastic piece of work. Congratulations, just love it
When I went to Texas with my grandmother who came to New York to get me, we went on a train for 3 days and it was absolutely magical and beautiful. And I was only 10 years old. It was such a wonderful trip that I'll never forget it. There's just something so romantic and beautiful about riding on a train on a long trip.
Whoa, first off--Hold up? Your grandmother is how old and she drove from Texas to New York just to pick you up and where did you guys travel since it was a 3 day tour? What was magical and describe the elements of beauty that were discovered in the 72 hour period of family time on the rail? I hope that valuable experience will not leave the mind within a one to two decade period, as one of the commentators believes in respect to the retention of happy memories.
In the world of a Lot of hoopla, happenstance and unnecessary noise causing anxiety people turn to the drone of appliances, machinery and even the hum of overhead lights. Then finally a maker comes along and gives us what we are seeking - the mesmerizing and relaxation inducing sounds guaranteed to treat your pestered sleep without drugs and rocks us to sleep. A Godsend. Thank you.
This is so soothing to me. I'm 55 and I've crossed Canada several times by rail and each time was an adventure: from long delays in the middle of nowhere from various rail company problems to partying with people from all over the world in the bar car!! But the scenery: stunning each time. I'd see something new every time. Highly recommend taking the journey but factor in extra days due to train delays and such! Lol Great memories ❤ thanks for the upload
Does the conductor or has the conductor "partied with people on the train" while the train is in motion? If so, was the song, "Do the Locomotion" playing? If not, both are violations of ethical train behavior according to expectations in respect to safety protocols. You are a 55 and I imagine this happened a while back.
@@KyleCote-j8i Half the comments on this video are lies. People who are 55 years old don't make playlists called "Joe Rogan Podcast" and "Chill Out Sh*t."
Thankyou 🙏, I suffer from insomnia and ever since I was kid I could only ever really get sleep on the road, this really helped me sleep a lot and have a significant less amount of stress.
Thank you very much for uploading this wonderful relaxing train video. Love it. On German TV we have had train running videos at night time, for people who loves trains or hardly find their sleep. It always helped, so like this video here. Missed that sound , thanks. Good night, sleep well and dream a train dream
i took the train from washington to baltimore recently and honestly… there’s nothing quite like hearing the tracks and the horns and feeling the train rock as you go to sleep. this is wonderful thank you
It’s actually my dream to be on a long distance scenic train ride like this. Honestly. And as I’m typing this I’m getting emotional cause this fantasy has been in my heart since I was 8 years old. And this video just brought me back to my childhood where things were stress free and I was comforted by being in a safe home and watching masterpiece-theater with my grandma. And now lol I’m living in my car and I have no one. And damn. Things are soo damn sad right now
The comfort train. Where all of my fellow passengers feel safe and warm. Have a hot drink of their choosing. Worry about nothing and no one. Nap without worrying about their mouths hanging open or if their snores will be heard. All passengers on this train want the same as you. To feel this bliss of life. There are no a$$holes aboard. So close your eyes. We are in good hands with the conductor 🙏 Destination: Peace.
Snap. Snap. The train is the great vehicle that we all are on-- aboard and heading forward towards true north, yearning for a life of adventure, guided by the hands of the conductor--not a conductor of symphonies, but that of the clickety clack of 19th century wheels in a 21st century environment. No one shall worry about open mouths when we are fed by the spiritual fruit of the rail. We hope that each passenger feels this similar sense of commitment to the relationship between the self and the locomotive engine. Uncertain is the destination for we know not when a passenger decides to simply get off--Nor do we understand the speed at which we arrive to that destination, while each one of us holds the key within ourselves. That is the key.
I was born in a country town with the railroads down the middle of town. The station was across the road. The whistle comforted me. I am old now and live in a small town with the railroad going through the middle of town. I feel so peaceful when I hear the whistle blow.
Ou yes, that's kind of you to ask... I would take some chocholate.. ooh.. or even better a hot chocolate! Cam you check whether they have it? Thank ya!
This reminds me of a time in Germany we used to take an apprx. 5 hr train ride to an aunties house to celebrate Christmas, ! The train was packed with people going somewhere for Christmas , gift parcel's everywhere, decorations, Christmas cookies and hot chocolate mugs! The view from the windows was just like this here ! Thank you, this vid got me into the Christmas mood, lighting a candle, these beautiful childhood memories, ! Merry Christmas 🎄 2020, 🎄🎀🙂🎀.
When i was a kid,i went to sleep to my grandmother every week-end...my Nonna lived in front our city rail-station and i remember this beautiful sound harmonize my sleep on the bed. Love from Italy.
My Nonna and Nonno's farm was right beside a railroad. I remember having her anginetti in the middle of winter while hearing the chugging of trains pass through just at the other end of the pastures. Strange how these sounds can evoke such vivid memories that don't seem too important in the moment.
Same for me, my Grandparents lived close to the train station, but in England. My nanna took me on my first train ride when I was about 3 or 4, I've loved trains and the sound of them ever since.❤

That is awesome! Thanks for sharing. 🙏😊
I traveled from Oslo to Bergen, Norway through the mountains overnight. I had a sleeper car and enjoyed looking out windows most of the night.

I know this is intended to put people to sleep but it's actually pretty interesting to watch.
Thanks for visiting and sharing. Have fun. 😊
Agreed! It's really good for my anxiety too
This is the great friction that is this train. it has become a major point of contention as I wade between the realms of watching and sleeping.
It’s so nice to see people still valuing slow things. This helps me fall asleep but that doesn’t mean I think it’s boring.
Well said. Enjoy. 😊
Christina Reynolds Good point. I guess that explains the paradox.
It's relaxing and beautiful at the same time. :-)
Try it on .75 playback speed. It slows it down some more.
This is better than any kind of sleeping pill a doctor can prescribe. Thank you!

Absolutely.... I don't like any of the train vids except this one. The wheels and the clickity click are finally loud enough to hear. This vid is so satisfying....

You're very welcome. Thanks for the nice comment.
Oh, how that must have been a wonderful train ride. 😀🚝

What an amazing memory to have x

This might be because you're spiritually battling your inner self and should gravitate towards the light, either by praying and keeping a light on, or by praying and keeping a light on. The train is great, though.
It’s not only the sound of the train on the tracks and the whistle at the beginning ( which brought me nice memories from my childhood every time I went to visit my Mom’s family on vacation) but the sound of the wind around.

This is so soothing to me. But the scenery: stunning each time. I'd see something new every time. Highly recommend taking the journey but factor in extra days due to train delays and such! Lol Great memories ❤ thanks for the upload
You're welcome. Thanks for visiting and sharing. 🙏😍
Every time I dozed off, the driver blasted his bloody horn! The sound of the tracks is hypnotic though.
One thing about trains:
It doesn’t matter where they’re going.
What matters is deciding to get on.
Trains in Europe, the trains in America truly do suck.
Sometimes it does matter where the trains are going. 1942-1945.

Nap without worrying about their mouths hanging open or if their snores will be heard. All passengers on this train want the same as you. To feel this bliss of life. There are no a$$holes aboard. So close your eyes. We are in good hands with the conductor 🙏
Destination: Peace.
Just joy and love to the soul. Thanks. 💖
Wow. So beautiful.

Snap.

When i was a kid,i went to sleep to my grandmother every week-end...my Nonna lived in front our city rail-station and i remember this beautiful sound harmonize my sleep on the bed.

My nanna took me on my first train ride when I was about 3 or 4, I've loved trains and the sound of them ever since.❤
This train moves fast!! But I slept well...thank you
You're welcome.
