you can really see here what the Subarus are made for which is quick acceleration from low speeds.
Man they launch so good from a stand still, not a single other car there could do that so smoothly. Its so crazy and satisfying at the same time that some 20 year old cars can pull this off and the GDB propably still has a pretty much stock engine, thats even more remarkable. I really dont get how anyone could hate on a Subaru, Subarus are awesome, amazing and cool!
Well TBF they are built to accelerate from rolling not necessarily from launching. Coming out if a corner and being as quick as can be up ti speed for the next one. Whether it be gravel, asphalt, snow, whatever.

As a subie owner I gotta disagree unless you have a sequential trans but my subie shines at top end

Weird, A 650HP GTR running 10s & they’re damn heavy cars, Yet a 550HP WRX is only running 12s. Both are fast times but I thought they’d be closer!!

It doesnt work like that, each car has its different clock, which starts counting when they leave.
@@user-xk3tu1wl7s In real life street racing it def would. Just because the clock only starts when the car moves doesn't mean you shouldn't try to beat the other driver. Otherwise it's not a race, just a highway pull with friends.

Is it me, or does that turn at the end look too close ?
I think it's a matter of perspective. It looks really close because the camera zooms in very far. There's plenty of room to brake though. The whole straightaway in total is over 2300 feet long.

Aight I'm gonna stir a bit a say the gs and GTR were lousy launchers, the EJ coupe may as well as been stock..does the white subie even have a turbo? And the civics and gtrs were still definitively faster..don't see the point of taking a 12+ second car to the track tbh

Ja idd, maar ik denk eerlijk gezegd dat deze Subi's makkelijk een mooie 11 hadden kunnen rijden als de track condities beter waren. En handgeschakeld maakt natuurlijk ook een aardig verschil ten opzichte van DSG.

Zwarte gt met enkeis deed maar net over de 400... Met n bijster laag koppel.. Was 2 jaar bezig met afbouwen en pas de week ervoor klaar... De zaterdag ervoor afgesteld. Rookte ook bijster vrrl door vastzittende zuigerveren :) weegt overigens 1460 kilo met volle tank. Is straatauto met vol interieur :)
i would say the days of that scoob making 500+ are long over some serious issue to burn so much oil before putting the engine under any load

The one at 03:15 makes 550hp for sure. I've seen that thing on the dyno. You think the amount of hp is the only determinant for ETs? The traction on this track is quite bad, since it's not an actual drag strip. Then there's the transmission, the tires, the launch, the aero etc. In the right circumstances these Subies will run much better times.
