Was always an Evo guy but I appreciate how awesome that Impreza is. Also my 375bhp Evo ran a quicker 0-60 and over half a second quicker on the quarter at a higher speed. Really don't see that 7 being 495

I ran a 4.2 0-60 in my barely modified evoX, so id say it all depends on the driver and he did a pretty safe launch so im pretty sure thats why

Cool vid. Never thought the wagon would have won this from a similar power level. The results literally make Scooby look like it should be 600bhp and not 500. It had zero issue even on a bad start. Impressive build.

It was a bit closer in the rolling start race up until the end. I wonder if the Scooby being a 2.4 has a bit more torque to help it pull better in the higher gears.
The straight cut gearbox made a huge difference in the lower gears and is great for the track or raw performance but wouldn't fancy a long road trip in it haha
Yes subarus allways have more torque than evos...its why the motors in subies give out if the motor hasn't been toughened up

You couldnt have been more wrong in asuming the evo is lighter, they are actually heavy cars. The gc8 chassis classic impreza was lighter than any Evo, especially 7+'s. They are all over 1350kg

Great video, really enjoyed it as well as seeing again my favorite rivalry taking place. The only problem I had was, we had two evenly matched cars, but with two unevenly matched drivers. The moment I saw the Evo launch (or lack of) and the delicate slow shifting, I knew the Evo was going to loose. With that big of a gap in two evenly matched cars, this was 100% a driver issue.

It doesn’t take an expert though to see that the evo isn’t being driven to its limit... my 407bhp wrx has a similar 1/4 mile time to that evo and a faster 0-60 despite being 80bhp down and having a full interior.. thats down to driver not car
