As players, if you wanna punish the Astros players without beaning them, you gotta find other ways within the rules: running up the score, stealing second even when you’re up by 8-9 runs, bat flip and admire every home run you hit, talk trash into the dugout on every strikeout, takeout slides at second base, etc

Best Commissioner is sports is Adam Silver. He's trying to do what MLB needs to do,shorten the reg season. Doesn't take b.s. from anyone. Wish MLB had a Commissioner who's not afraid of the Union,be a better game. Selig got body slammed by the MLBPA in the 94 strike. Game isn't has popular as once was giving the Commissioner more leverage in negotiations.

You can hate him for allowing steroids but I enjoyed watching Sosa, McGuire, Barry Bonds growing up and it's hard to say they had an advantage because everyone did it, pitchers included.

I have thought from Day 1 of this scandal that MLB and the Astros would underestimate the furor about this scandal. And they have, but so have I. I thought the media would ignore it and the fans would erupt on opening day and everyone would realize they had a problem on their hands. But it’s going to far worse than I imagined.

This situation reminds me why Adam Silver is such a great commissioner. When the Donald Sterling scandal happened he wasn't shy of laying the hammer down and banning an owner from the game. If Manford was the Comissioner of the NBA then I doubt he would of had the balls.

In the middle of this heated argument, these two just agreed that Nixon was a good President. I've seen a lot of shocking commentary on the Astros scandal, but that takes thr cake.
Aside from watergate and being a shitty human being privately, Nixon wasn't a horrible president. He created OSHA and the EPA. Substantially increased funding for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. He even tried to get passed a law that would provide guaranteed annual income to the poor (he called it the negative income tax).

i thought Manfred's work in this investigation was lazy. he granted immunity to get info whereas he could have done a better investigation without the immunity to hand out the proper punishments.
Exactly, there was already enough evidence of cheating with the trash banging videos, that alone should have been enough to give out punishments
My next point is that everyone defending the Astros says that doing this is sending a strong message to the league that this will never be tolerated again. That next time the players would face a heavy suspension and possibly have to give back playoff money. But that is not true. By setting a precedent you are opening a window of freedom for any future violators. You don't think that a player wouldn't run to the union, or even hire their own lawyer, and say that the precedent has already been set and that their player shouldn't be treated any differently than all of the Astros players...and that they too should not be punished. Manfred has set the standard...cheating will be tolerated. This is bad for the game. Manfred must go!

What happens when an Astro player gets thrown at and hit? What if that player is seriously hurt? He can turn around and sue MLB because it's commissioner created the condition that allowed the hate and frustration to fester, by not punishing the players. By not punishing the players Manfred is allowing the league, and it's players, to police itself. When this happens and "if" someone gets badly hurt...they would easily have a case that Manfred created these conditions and opened up liability against MLB. This is hurting the game. Potentially putting the league at risk like this is just plain irresponsible. Manfred must go!

This is not someone who's been in seat very long.,who has years of development on that seat. He's new and he's fucking it up. He hasn't got enough credit to try to bully things through.
Don is absolutely right because now Baseball Umpires know they’ll be coming for there heads and there suspensions will be more severe then the normal while they still get to keep a title that wasn’t earned.
