If you still support the Astros just because they're your team when they have been dishonest and cheating all along, then it's like saying you are ok with what they did...yet how can you be? I forgive them but we didn't play fair and we didn't deserve the trophy, the money etc. I see why Cole bugged out so quick. Been a Stros' fan my whole life, through many a losing season too but I cannot waste my time rooting / supporting/ or praying for them to win like I did anymore, especially with that non-apologetic apology. It's like God is showing us how meaningless all this stuff is. It was a waste of my time then and I didn't even know it until 2020, the year of seeing clearly . The only interesting thing left now is the reaction they'll get from fans, opposing teams, announcers etc. But other than that, life is too short and I have other things to spend my time on.

We didn't have a 1994 World Series Winner so why can't we not have a 2017 World Series Winner. There was no World Series Champion in 1904 either.
Need I remind people that 100 years ago, Kennesaw Mountain Landis was appointed as the 1st commissioner in MLB because the players weren't holding up the integrity of the game following the 1919 World Series. After being appointed as commissioner in 1920, his first act in office was throwing 8 players out of the league for disgracing the league. 100 years later, commissioners are afraid to touch the players regardless of the evidence that they blatantly cheated. It also shows that you can apparently ban players for giving away a World Series, but not for stealing one.

Don is right about the precedent. There has to be a first time for everything and nothing was done about it. So why should other teams play it straight, when cheating seems to pay off. So if any other player on any team is caught cheating this coming season, then nothing should happen to him either, right? The commisioner is dead wrong and is lame in my opinion. The gov should investigate this. If it's true about the stuff people like Lucroy said, where guys went to them, and they really didn't do much. Why on earth would that be? Those guys grew 1/3 their natural size and way cheated the game. Henry Aaron was a real athlete who hit 755 HRs at only 180 lbs. Clemente, Musial, Mays , and DiMaggio we're only about 180 or 190 lbs. Talent got them HOF plaques. Steroid era was worse than this . Just my opinion.

Nobody is going to throw at the Astros. Nobody.
If they don't end up taking away the World Series title/vacating the spot, what are we going to say when the Astros one day win the World Series (could be years from now, could be decades)? Is that now their "second" World Series even though we know the first one wasn't deserved? Will people 50 years from now remember that this one wasn't deserved? At least if you take the title away, it will be clear that any World Series they win past this point is their first win, and they won't be called a "two-time" World Series winner.
Herein lies the problem. There are two competing ideologies at play here. Those of us that agree with Don La Greca that a Commissioner of Sport's primary job is to ensure fairness and the integrity of the game with discipline for those that break the rules. Those that fall in the Michael Kay camp think the Commissioner's primary job is to increase profits for the owners by instituting rules and actions that either create, abet or ignore problems that cause controversy and in theory bring a "Must See" factor as Kay puts it that will increase revenues across the board, regardless of how damaging it is to the sport because the money that it generates justifies breaking those rules above all other considerations. My response to Michael's worldview on this matter is with two bible verses.....1 Timothy 6:10 - For the love of money is the root of all evil. And... Mathew 16:26 - What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul?
Now that we are moving on to 2021 we know that Corona virus help the Astros 2020 but I believe they still be boo but the players has show that money will make them move not only from teams they love to stay they also will move from this.
Money makes 99% of people move on,now fans will always remember this at least real fans.

Keep in mind they did draft Springer, Correa, and Bregman with the 11th, 1st, and 2nd overall picks, respectively, in 3 of 5 years because they were so bad. Not trying to diminish the cheating at all, but playing so poorly for so long leads to nice draft opportunities.
